- In Episode 21 Bugsy takes us down to a ledge fishing in Sydney NSW Australia for some land based lure fishing targeting bonito on a sunny afternoon. Bugsy shows us how to use a range of lures including bibbed minnows, jigs, and sinking stick baits. Techniques used include spinning lures and shore jigging. Sydney has a number of premier rock fishing locations. Fishing off the rocks is a dangerous activity and safety should always come first. If you are going rock fishing check the swell conditions, wear a lifejacket, wear rock cleats or spikes, wear light clothing that you could confidently swim in, and fish with a friend to keep an eye out for each other. Remember to do your part to look after our fish stocks too. If you are going to keep fish, look after them and only take what you will eat. Take your rubbish home with you or throw it in the bin. Respect and preserve our natural wonders. Thank you

@@bugsyfishing where is this mate? just new in fishing
@@peterjamesnopia2292 it's on a Sydney ledge. Suggest trying the harbour. Lots of great land based spots and there are some good fish in there at the moment
@@bugsyfishing is that in the harbour Bridge mate any specific location pls sir?? I want to try the same as what you are doing in fishing same style.
@@peterjamesnopia2292 yes, under the harbour bridge is a good spot
Nice catches mate.. do you mind to share the location? I want to try my luck this week.
Hi Jason, there is going to be too much swell for the ocean ledges this week. Suggest you try the ledges inside Sydney Harbour
Have you tried using those clips so it's easier to switch to other lures?
Yeah, I tried some but they were a bit fiddly so I went back to tying knots. Maybe I wasn't using the right clips
Great video bro! Became a subscriber.👍 Where about in sydney?
Cheers bro! I fish north and south of the bridge. Everywhere is firing at the moment. The harbour and bay are full of fish
Awesome! Thanks for the info. Planning to go there with my mates from Canberra. Cheers!
How was the climb back up with all that gear and bay full of fish and water?
Last time I brought too much stuff and the climb back up and hike back to the car almost killed me haha
Haha! Good training! I pour the water out of the bag just before I leave. The fish are already chilled down by then and the ice packs keep them cold for the journey home
Great to see you chill your fish. I take a coles chiller bag and two ice bricks every time I fish for bonnies. I'm sick of seeing people disrespect a great eating fish like bonito by leaving them flapping about in a sunny 10cm deep rock pool.
Totally agree. It is important to respect the fish we take. As you know, bonito in particular can spoil quickly. Especially at this hot time of year
Nice catches bro , it never arrives to got some bites from gt or any trevally on jig in your area ?
Cheers bro. We don't get GT this far south being in Sydney. Maybe the odd smaller one that gets swept down in the east Australian current but no consistency or size. We have silver trevally and sometimes they take the jig
@@bugsyfishing it will be very funny on your heavy set up .. waiting for your next video bro , keep it on 🤙
Hi Bugsy, could I get the product name of that box you store your lures in? Cheers
Hi Peter, it's an old Plano one. 360mm x 220mm
This one is close Plano 23700 Stowaway Tackle Tray
Thanks bugsy!!
Were is this place pld luv yr video pls
I prefer not to say. Cheers
What brand rock cleats are you running there, boss?
Hey brother, they are the Snowline Chainsen Pro Rock Spikes. Also used for ice
@@bugsyfishing Thats the go. Cheers mate.
Nice they haven't hit merimbula yet
Interesting. Luv Merimbula. Beautiful place and great people
@@bugsyfishing Thanks mate :)
reasuring to see the pros lose their lures too -- its not just me
Haha, I lose my fair share of lures too
