As someone who is diamond i want to warn some players seeing this, although ulting i can understand to fast clear, be careful when using q as u become extremely vulnerable to ganks. Only do this if u know ur safe to do so. Gl in ur games :)

I love how every toplane wave management vid I've seen on my feed is all getting into very detailed methods of manipulating waves to set up dives, hold a freeze, make the wave push into you so you can start a slow push when you return to lane,

What rank are you? Above gold? Because in lower ELO you go to your lane and stay there until either your or the opponent's tower goes down. Roaming is a concept seldom utilized, expecially if you aren't a champ like for example Quinn or Bard that are particularly known to leave their lane.

Not to pat myself on the back too much but, I'm an unranked player and I've been doing this ever since I realized her E cooldown started after the first recast, and learning that this is an actual strat makes me feel great.

Remember as a first strike Lux. Damage is valuable. Clear wave and roam, if you hit jungler with a q. E and ult to chunk their health. You force their back even if you don’t kill them. And they’ll take longer your ult cd to return. The pressure you can apply effectively turns the game into a 4v5. Most annoying part about a good lux player.
But there is one problem - most of the junglers jump into Lux‘ face and kill her 😂 so invading them in their jgl + trying to hit Q, might end up pretty ugly
Step 1 : Walk up to the enemy turret to throw the first E
Step 2 : Die to the jungler
I love how people like you try to discredit short videos like this with stupid comments. The people making these videos assume you're not absolutely braindead and walking up if you don't know where the enemy jungler is. I get it though. Many of you ARE braindead and regularly die to enemy jungler or support roams. But not everyone is. Any semi competent player who ever looks at the minimap can do this without dying to the jungler.

you would think so. but a challenger playing this lux wouldn't let someone not let them do this.
Yeah because challengers have extra abilities in their kit that let them gap close that non challengers don't know about. Idk what u think challengers can do, but if the lux is throwing max range E on the wave and staying out of the challenger's engage range the challenger can't engage on the lux. Rank doesn't magically make you able to get to someone who is staying out of your range. The lux would have to fuck up and get too close, not pay attention to where the other members of the enemy team are, not consider the opponents flash timer, etc.
It’s not like a challenger lux magically doesn’t know how to space out the enemy or dodge abilities lol, these types of tricks don’t just “not work in high elo” they’re specifically used in higher elo’s because people who win more games (people who understand game mechanics like this) are the ones who get to high elo.
If you’re using spells to constantly clear waves, you’re open for a gank. Especially against some mid/jg champs
Compelte boots first, specially since youre to go roam.
Yes she does have a good ability to control mid lane. Her weakness show the second the tower falls. So if you going to play lux mid and do this strategy. You need to understand that your entire job is to never let mid fall.
If mid falls you most likely going to lose game in solo que. If even if you team hard feeding. If mid stands, odds are very good enemy team won't be able to do anything.
Weakness of lux is that tanky champions don't really care to much for her combo. She is skill shot base. So everything can be dodged.

What a clever idea.
In higher elo, vision is not exactly that much of a problem anymore. Timing this is all a matter of paying attention to the minimap and warding your bushes. Buy ward trinket and 1 control ward. Pink ward one river bush, trinket the other. Then know the jungle champ and their typical routes. High Elo, you rarely have junglers camping lanes, and because of minion blocking, the opponent in lane can't really afford to lose the K/A (i.e. you flash away from the gank) and lose a whole wave + potential experience loss.
If you play jungle and try, you'll get awesome map awareness. Even go as far as to guess where enemy jungler is without vision.
Pros know this and can min-max this strategy to always use it when they KNOW the jungler isn't close and then go back to bitch-hug the tower when it is.

Throwing your spells to clear wave often attracts predators (Zed, Fizz, Akali, jungler)
These are the reasons why champs like Xerath, Lux, Velkoz and Seraphine are B tier in midlane when they are actually broken, because of the potential they have as a midlaner, but nobody abuses it. Wave management is playing macro game!

Yea it's because it doesn't matter, the game is so oversaturated that the tiny lead you built by wave management can easily be made back double by a champion that can do so much more for your team than perma shoving waves like Syndra, Ahri, Yasuo, Pantheon. At best you can tilt a Plat autofill that doesn't know they can just kill you if you use your only cc on the wave

I rarely use Lux's ult to secure/snipe kills which is something I notice a lot of other Lux players often do. It has always been wave clear and have the enemy hug his turret forever and lose waves. 😅
You're pretty likely to get ganked if you walk up to their tower and use your Q and E on wave repeatedly

I can agree with the E, but I highly discourage using the bind on the minions if the laner is still there, you’re left with nothing. Encouraging lower elo plays to do this, I am sorry for anyone who gets them in there games.

Any smart player will punish lux when her ablities are down. Especially Q. As broken as lux may be. Most definitely cant just freely spam abilities on waves, with ANY champ.
If you're that far up in lane to pull off this waveclear then you're dead from any sort of gank at all. This waveclear is anything but safe, in the clip you're literally on the enemy's half of the lane doing this AND it forces you to use your Q and E so you cant root or slow any gankers.
Not to mention the mana management.

If u ever get out of bronze u will know when you are safe or not so you can use this without getting smacked

Even not counting ganks, you use this vs a zed you gonna get destroyed.
Mana management part is pretty simple, you use around 1/5 of your mana doing this at lvl 5, but insta crash your wave. So.. Just recall..
@@ruiribeiro8010Just use this once you see the enemy jg on the map. It's not this insane miraculous trick like skillcapped says it is, but it is very helpful to shove a wave as even if the enemy goes for you, they'll be losing cs and summs/spells. The optimal way to do this trick is by hitting your Q E and R at max range, and at that range basically nothing can really kill you unless you mess up badly.
This relies a lot on game fundamentals like knowing where to position on the lane. It's an easy trick that can also easily go wrong in the hands of an unskilled player, that's all.
The things Ezreal knows about Lux is slightly disturbing...
I’ve won a handful of games abusing this. Its especially fun va assassins because you completely shut them down having them constantly shoved and that breaks their mental.
Do this twice and you'll be out of mana...

You can safely stay near the tower in early phases and farm from distance, and even if they try to control wave, you can effortlesly brake it.
If nothing works, at level 6, close to no cooldown ultimate enters the chat.
Of course you do not do this trick if you can't do it safely.. LOL?

Well it will only work if your opponent and/or the jungler isnt near you. I think its key here to find that one time you get away with it. If you cleared it once you are basically free to do it over and over, because the enemy has to farm or must step telegraphed in your wave to harras you which makes it easy to hit E Q R on him. I think taking minion demat will make this easier. You can create prio on a cannon wave easily.

I will never forget like 3 years ago I was in my Plat 4 promos playing lux mid (my hardcore main at the time) and I was playing against a higher elo Morgana mid on his alt account. We went head to head in that game the entire time, I was busting my ass to keep up with the shit that was happening, and we ended up winning that game getting me to Plat 4:)
Orianna can also manage waves really well. Her W will speed up your teams minions and slow the enemies. I use it all the time to roam top, bot, or to help my jungler.

Yup. Anytime I have deal with champion that I don’t want to deal with like Zed, Fizz or Qiyana, just pick Lux, ult wave and roam. I’m not obligated to lane against those champs
me thinking it was something new, but ive been doing that for years on lux, just use ur R on that second part of the clip if the enemy was low and you wanna quickly shove the wave, for either a recall of yourself, or an objective, you can roam but keep in mind you dont have your R anymore, so keep that in mind when greeding for plays afterwards.
another trick a lot of people dont expect with Lux is that you have to hit Q in order to do ER for the kill, what you can do when you're strong enough and confident that u'll hit it is, throw E and use the slow for an easy R placement and then you detonate your E, if you're fed enough that will kill them them most of the times. Now thats a trick a lot of people dont expect when playing vs a lux. :)

Been flamed so much for recalling after ulting the wave even though i was ahead and got turret from it cause everyone wants me to ult someone to no effect. You can use your ult for something other than kills especially with one that's got such a short cd
Unfortunately Lux Q (1st Ability) in Wild Rift at least does not root minions anymore. Also, her 3rd ability auto detonates when it hits a minion and champion.

in wild rift, her Q even goes through minion so you really had no chance laning against her.

yeeeeep! I've played a ton of Lux midlane, and I learned this technique pretty quickly. Free roams all game. Although, some champions can counter pretty good. I struggled against a good Syndra harassing me every time I tried to do anything.

Tip for laning against Lux: Aside from her ultimate she can only waveclear with her e which is not that great at clearing waves. Since Lux also wants to poke her enemy, position in a way where she has to decide between hitting the wave or hitting you. Just be wary of any qs since you have no minions to hide behind
