29:55 About target champs only: this only works when right-clicking. A-LeftClick and attack-move-click will still target towers and minions. Oh and of course, only do this when you may accidentally click a minion or tower.

Im glad you guys put spacing on #1 because its a mechanic you use constantly and it is defintely a underrated mechanic in educational content. So thanks for having it!
My mind has been blown and it will take me a year to find all the pieces. I didn’t know most of these and pretty much struggle with all of them. Now we know why I’m in low bronze! Wish I could give this video 100 likes.
OMG thank you. In the old days it was far easier to tell fakes apart (like status effects or debuffs like ignite would persist and only affect the "real"). Still annoying to tell in the thick of battle, but there's a way
dude i love this long format style of video, just getting back into moba after a long time and man its so much fun to be playing a game with such a high skill ceiling again.
I like the kill the casters first tip. I learned that playing Dota way back when. And I finally got to GM on league, super overlooked small skill. I'm surprised how many people weren't doing that until highish diamond. These kind of videos are awesome too cuz honestly im not great at auto spacing due to playing alot of JG/support. Super cool. Always learning new stuff about this game
If you play the game enough and are observant enough you can pick up on a lot of these. I've learned a lot through observing and analyzing by asking what went wrong and why. Going back to watch games helps as there are times where you think you know what happened and you miss a crucial thing. When watching this video I thought I'd find a lot more useful tips for myself. I didn't know about the Leblanc and Shaco clone timers as I was always in a very prickly situation where there's not a whole lot of time to think or look. I also think it's because of my lack of understanding on how those champions work (ability cooldowns, changes on them in the past 3-5 years, etc.) due to my inexperience in fighting against them. I only play casually for fun with friends but it's not like I never want to improve and learn from my mistakes or others mistakes. This is still quite an informative video with good explanations on why you'd want to do these things. I'm glad someone is putting content like this out there to help others who are looking to improve theirselves
This guy is an actual fucking GOAT giving us a lot of free information from his course while also making the course affordable AND making it user friendly by receiving submissions from people with questions then making an entire video breaking down how to improve holy shit. This man is doing God’s work keep it up!
Something wrong tho at 30:15, it does work on spells as I learnt recently while playing ryze, targeted spells, if I press w or e on a minion with champ; only it wont trigger, but on a champ it will.
WRT the height stuff one thing to keep in mind is that your champion will always throw the skillshot towards your cursor, and NOT in the direction shown by the skillshot line. The line is rendered at whatever height you're standing, which means it will look wrong when aiming up or down elevation. Your cursor does correctly show where your champion will send the ability as the cursor does account for terrain elevation. If you want to see what I mean, just stand somewhere high or low and fire a skillshot after bringing up the line - you'll notice it always flies towards your cursor and not in the direction the line shows. Due to this, I've actually disabled line skill shot display and I just use the range ring; even though that still doesn't account for elevation differences, it's a bit less confusing to just aim with your cursor. That said, a solution to this would be for League to project the skillshot indicators on to the world surface rather than as an overlay/depth-ignore/etc. I can see an argument where it may be less clear to do that, but having played many games that use a projection system to solve this problem I would at least like Riot to give it a shot if they haven't.
This legitimately is the most useful video I've ever watched on League... I learned at lease 7 things outta this and I've been playing since season 3...
Something a lot of players don't know - champions like Anivia and Zac if their passive is up there will be wing icons next to the champion level, this also will appear IF a champion has bought GA.
An important part missing in this video is that in elos diamond and below with it getting more obnoxious in each elo below the last is that a lot of players do cs good early, but the game devolves into constant meaningless fights so its more about learning when its good to farm and good to fight in bad elo games finding whats more consistent for a player.
i understand a bit of macro and always rely on that to win games , as im always told you dont need mechanics to win - THANK YOU so MUCH for actually showing Mechanics, i learned EVERY SINGLE Skill off the list that i did NOT have before. it was like taking off a blind fold, before this holy shit i was so ignorant. The most important factor of kiting which most people fail to mention is using the A or X button Command. It will be really hard to use and implement when you first do it but it the most essential way on how to kite, that and knowing your speed on which your champ hits at esp for adcs . You will get a grasp on your speed or updated speed when buying new items once you start farming. It is essential to learn these 2 if you want to learn how to kite. The rest such as in backshotting (when you walk out of range before the enemy gets to attack or counter and you reattack.) When to start kiting etc will come once you learn how to acutually start kiting. This is strictly for adc btw. Make sure your A or X command is still on smart cast, this will show your range on how far you can attack at. My siggestion is to use it everyday and for everything/move your doing it will become second nature pretty fast, this is free sauce im giving yall man!
26:18 anivia is a bad example as you can see if she has her passive or not below her level bar, it will show a small icon that will indicate whether or not she can revive.
So im on the EUW server And most of my friends and including me knew about the ward tip and the input buffering almost all of the time we’ve played league. I don’t think you can compare challanger csing and gold csing that easy. First challenger players face other challenger players, which makes laning and therefore csing way harder than in gold. Secondly the games length is shorter in challenger, in the early stages of the game you can’t gather cs as fast as in the late game, like you have in gold (when you have 3-4 items). Now I don’t want to sound like a hater, I really liked the spacing and the rest of the tips. I think a lot of these statistics are from the NA servers ? Because whenever I watch videos of streamers in euw and Korea, the average cs is over 9 - 10 cs per minute. But yeah keep up the good work ☺👍
that auto spacing thing tho i think i learned something when u talked about attacking their backs. also i didnt realize champions move forward during the AA cooldown, wrinkle gained.
7:22 yeah caling bull on that, Zed has almost 2000 threat range and since he's manaless he can use it to poke you down, the only time that's an issue for him is if he's allready over extending and then uses it to poke you and then he gets ganked without his get out of jail free card, and even then he still probably has flash to burn and still escape the gank. Zed is just rediculously safe and pretty much gets priority of lane no matter what you do. Even in this cilp right after saying that Ahri gets poked down and loses hp.
Just a thought but maybe give a tutorial breakdown of all the runes and what they do and how they interact. not sure if you have something like this but it could be helpful for some that are terrying to get into and understand the game better
''Target champs only'' should work on abilities. Very weird it doesn't work for you! Binded on spacebar. Helped me A LOT with Anivia/Brand E, Victor/Kayle Q. Source: I've been stuck r1 ru and top 10 euw in s5-s7 :)
I actally knew one !! OMG. the residual vision, i knew it from before it was explained as, when clearing a wave in mid, when clearing the last minion and you click in dragon's direction immediately after that las minion death, the enemies will see you go dragon's direction because of this residual vision ! Well, that's the only thing, pretty much the entire video is alien to me...
If you can learn the names of every pokemon, their types, weaknesses, move sets, move effects, special abilities, items, egg groups... I think learning all the characters mechanics and ranges is feasible.
For example that's how you perfectly outplay something Like Blitzcrank that many players do wrong... Always stand behind Minions and If He walks around them to Hook you it will decrease how far He pulls you and also while he's trying that you and your Support can punish him while Walking around the Minion Wave cockblocking His hook
Fun fact: Input buffering doesnt work on Talon's meele Q, well in fact, if you can literally waste your spell and deal 0 dmg with it The way it works, is lets say for instance, you just traded with the enemy, and they are very low Hp, so a Meele Q would kill them but not the Ranged. If you stand in the Ranged Q range, then input-buffer your Q and immediately use flash to get in the meele range, you essentially cancelled your Leap with the flash, the ability goes on CD and you dealt no damage. I have a video demonstrating this in a live game
Either way you want to bait out moves with spacing. You'll destroy lane phase, stop your team from feeding from certain abilities, any number of things. Purposely making your opponent miss one ability might straight up lead to you winning and no one will even notice that what you did.
League made anivia and zac's passives more visible by encasing the Level icon so... i dunno you can kinda tell when their passives up when the level icon is encased with a "wing like" icon on top if it's not there they recently used it. (or rather got forced into it)
I like how that morg clip the first time she aims of right at you then the second part she aims it a mile off is that also apart of your movement making the Enemy miss by a mile?
This input buffer works works with Elise r turning the first attack in spider form into a ranged attack as if she was human while having spider form dmg hard to use so i dont use it like at all but i bet some high level players know this and actively use it
what happens if you are running top as master yi and you are going up against ahe? what do you do then? how do you farm for minions without being in range?
There is actually two more reasons why killing the casters first is better. If you kill the casters first you are automatically pushing faster. Not only do you not have to pause damaging the wave to secure cs as much but also it maximaises your own minions damage since they can hit the enemy melees all the time instead of having to walk forward a bit to start hitting the casters. And the second reason is that farming the melees is a lot safer to do since you are closer to your tower. So in case someone is coming to your lane to gank you after seeing you cs on their minimap, when they arrive you would already be far back hitting the melees instead of exposed and hitting the casters.
applied already most of it (just but 12), that's not enough to be good at lol xD, though still nice video as these tips are fundamental. Just, if someone reads that comment, farming 1more cs, won't make you as good as chall at farming, it's just it's way easier to farm 7cs / minute in a gold game, than 7cs / minute against chall (and with challs)
2:45 Every time you get Lee/Jax in Aram and your team standing literally 20 pixels away from you jumping back to safety without losing much health, instead you die and the second you die they gonna walk in nearly melee range back into enemy team and die aswel. Classic
Don't mean to be "that guy," but... When talking about spacing, around the 12 minute mark, when you show the movement in slow motion, it's clear that Deft turns toward Kai'sa BEFORE she turns away. Maybe he predicted that she WOULD turn away, but it's still not reacting to "the enemy clicking away from you," as you say at around the 11:30 mark.
As a new league player my biggest problem is zoning since i literally have no idea what anybody body abilities are let alone the range of them lol. Is there a way i can see that?
Hey, thanks for the video. I got a question about the "target champions only" tip: You said if you use this u can only hit champions. However as far as I know this is not entirely true. - It works if: I use LMB, which is my attack or move command. - It does not work if: I use my A-Button, which is my attack the closest target button. My issue with this is that if I use my LMB and I missclick on a range champion I will move into melee range instead of attacking the champion. Is there a way to make both work (use target champions only and attack the closest target)?
no, that's not possible. there is an engine limitation that prevented RIOT from coding it to work like this when they adjusted these setting options to the way they are now several years ago (there was an article published about it at the time)
Lasting hitting is your aa damage = to the amount of damage it takes to last hit. A champ with 65 aa vs champ with 70 aa damage will have different health levels for minions to have in order to last hit, if that fraction of health is = or lower your aa damage then you have the last hit, so know how much damage you do when you auto.
12:00 hes clicking on kaisa BEFORE she moves away Deft moves first in every auto in this clip, deft turns baki turns deft turns back baki turns back every time. Deft is leading the dance with superior knowledge and timing
that's a cool system for learning spacing. make a range map and place each champ at their total range, and then list them by # based on shortest to longest range.

ward skins pay to lose
29:55 About target champs only: this only works when right-clicking. A-LeftClick and attack-move-click will still target towers and minions. Lately I've been using right-click to compensate with mixed results; between having to exactly click on the target and overriding muscle memory, it's been awkward at worst. Oh and of course, only do this when you may accidentally click a minion or tower.
Had no idea the hitboxes were like this at, 16:25. I think it is really weird that it is like this, but knowing it is will help a lot.
yeah lol it's so dumb, they could have fixed that if they really wanted, it's definitely not a feature, it's just a "We didn't wanna spend time fixing this" moment
5:20 I personally don't think someome should "learn" any numbers here. After time you get a feeling for it, particular if you try a lot of champs in aram. So the best tip here is hovering around the range Limit, predict abilities, side step and punish failed abilities. Like you akready said. Im glad you guys put spacing on #1 because its a mechanic you use constantly and it is defintely a underrated mechanic in educational content. So thanks for having it!
Iconic league UA-cam channel that gives good advice for all Players of high and low skill play. Good job guys keep up the good work 👍😌
I play support so I don't need most of these skills
@@calvinhoward3808 ur support so u need no skill anyway
@@Layluuu this Hurt my feelings as my 2nd role
@@calvinhoward3808 u sure?
@@calvinhoward3808I'm a support top main. You need to know these skills to take advantage of the enemy laner when possible
The one that I love the most is Jhin's fourth shot plus pre-input buffer, you can burn a lot of flashs from the enemy 😅
I have been playing league for almost 10 years now and just today learned the high ground low ground thing 😳
Same
The auto spacing mechanic is something I never knew about before but I've done stuff like that before on my Ashe main getting quadrakills in fights
Learned to go for mage minions from playing Nasus. Early game stacks are very important for winning lane and matches.
Obi Wan: It's over Anakin, I have the high ground
Anakin: It's just a visual trick
31:46 I already see myself getting question mark pinned because my unranked teammates think that I don't know what I'm doing.😂
These vids are crazy valuable even for a season 2 player, thank you!
Something a lot of players don't know - champions like Anivia and Zac if their passive is up there will be wing icons next to the champion level, this also will appear IF a champion has bought GA.
5:48 as aurelion sol main i wish e had 7500 range 😞
An important part missing in this video is that in elos diamond and below with it getting more obnoxious in each elo below the last is that a lot of players do cs good early, but the game devolves into constant meaningless fights so its more about learning when its good to farm and good to fight in bad elo games finding whats more consistent for a player.
bro the shaco/leblanc trick is such a banger
Clicking closer to your champion and auto spacing is very helpful already. Thanks for the tips!
i understand a bit of macro and always rely on that to win games , as im always told you dont need mechanics to win - THANK YOU so MUCH for actually showing Mechanics, i learned EVERY SINGLE Skill off the list that i did NOT have before. it was like taking off a blind fold, before this holy shit i was so ignorant. Thank you
5:03 whoever put that visual together deserves a raise
i already use everything on this except input buffering - but that was worth the watch. well done.
30:10 actualy it does work on targed habilities like diana's E or singed's E, viktor's Q, etc.
But yeah keep up the good work ☺👍
Not gonna lie playing since s4 some of the tips were really useful, i feel like a real noob now lmao
that auto spacing thing tho i think i learned something when u talked about attacking their backs. also i didnt realize champions move forward during the AA cooldown, wrinkle gained.
Even in this cilp right after saying that Ahri gets poked down and loses hp.
this is the best skill capped video about LoL ever
Also, if the enemy Shaco is jng, watch position of his Smite buff
Clone: Somewhere down in his bufflist
Real: Always on 1st slot
Just a thought but maybe give a tutorial breakdown of all the runes and what they do and how they interact. not sure if you have something like this but it could be helpful for some that are terrying to get into and understand the game better
15:55 "I need a drink" is what I'm seeing
''Target champs only'' should work on abilities. Very weird it doesn't work for you! Binded on spacebar. Helped me A LOT with Anivia/Brand E, Victor/Kayle Q. Source: I've been stuck r1 ru and top 10 euw in s5-s7 :)
Holy sh** the ward source is actually one of the most valuable tips I've ever seen lol
I actally knew one !! OMG. the residual vision, i knew it from before
it was explained as, when clearing a wave in mid, when clearing the last minion and you click in dragon's direction immediately after that las minion death, the enemies will see you go dragon's direction because of this residual vision !
Well, that's the only thing, pretty much the entire video is alien to me...
Honestly this is one of the only videos i have found helpfull, thanks alot, these tis alone hlped rank up a decent amount
Amazing, by far one of the bests guides I've ever seen.
If you can learn the names of every pokemon, their types, weaknesses, move sets, move effects, special abilities, items, egg groups... I think learning all the characters mechanics and ranges is feasible.
Does input buffering still work after you press s?
Just an FYI bois, you can only turn on the "treat target champions only as a toggle" in game, you cannot apply this setting in lobby.
Good grief that was sooooo much information I can't even take it all in. Super excillent guide.
Love this! Gonna watch this course for sure!
In what lane do you ever get to 2v1 a blitzcrank that feels the need to pressure that hard solo? Is this an iron rank scenario or something?
16:56 Nice prequels reference. You get a like.
Fun fact: Input buffering doesnt work on Talon's meele Q, well in fact, if you can literally waste your spell and deal 0 dmg with it
The way it works, is lets say for instance, you just traded with the enemy, and they are very low Hp, so a Meele Q would kill them but not the Ranged. If you stand in the Ranged Q range, then input-buffer your Q and immediately use flash to get in the meele range, you essentially cancelled your Leap with the flash, the ability goes on CD and you dealt no damage. I have a video demonstrating this in a live game
Despite all fancy techniques @28:43 the very second Malzahar's R is done he is dead and we all know it. That's just how it goes
In this case, yes
For the spacing part you could argue that the exact numbers don't matter due to edge to edge /center to center shenanigans
Either way you want to bait out moves with spacing. You'll destroy lane phase, stop your team from feeding from certain abilities, any number of things. Purposely making your opponent miss one ability might straight up lead to you winning and no one will even notice that what you did.
Play unlocked
16:56 and this is way Obi Wan didn't stop Anakin from becoming Dark Vader... he should have aimed for the head. (Also Thor xD)
League made anivia and zac's passives more visible by encasing the Level icon so... i dunno you can kinda tell when their passives up when the level icon is encased with a "wing like" icon on top if it's not there they recently used it. (or rather got forced into it)
Is their a way to make the camera auto follow my character instead of having to move it around with my mouse?
16:58 Yeah, the high ground. Nice reference
Great video men thanks for the guide
30:12 thanks! I can’t tell the amount of times I’ve clicked towers or minions by mistake
just got back into the game. this are all good advice. thanks for this vid
27:00 i use this every time i play against someone like veigar or nasus to be aware of their stacks and got confused that not many people do it
as a master player, only thing i learned here is knowing who placed the ward by ACTUALLY checking it. this just 1 thing will really help lol
A very helpful video, thank you.
Bro this is great. It's useful immediately usable stuff to get better. Many thanks my dudes
This was a really helpful video, good content.
Just, if someone reads that comment, farming 1more cs, won't make you as good as chall at farming, it's just it's way easier to farm 7cs / minute in a gold game, than 7cs / minute against chall (and with challs)
this is frikin awesome guys, many thanks !!
Is there a way i can see that?
i'm season 3 player and no one told me that left click info. Thanks for the video
Hey, thanks for the video.
I got a question about the "target champions only" tip:
You said if you use this u can only hit champions.
07:35 my eyes exploded
Have you guys checked the animation with ahris q and sylas q, ahris goes like 200 over sylas even though its supposed to be 55 less
