Remember it still. We were about to see them at Ozzfest that summer in Kansas City but he passed that night before.

Wait it's already been 20 years?! 🤯 I was 17 at the time and a fan of their music, driving my parents crazy with Bodies on repeat 😄 Still remember the chock of hearing about his death and how all the stupid media wrote it off as yet another rockstar dies because drugs, even though it ended up not being true... His legacy lives on but I gotta admit I haven't listened to every thing the band has done since then.

Caught Drowning pool by accident in Australia at Big day out pre daves death. I was a fan of their music, but didn't know they were on the bill. wandered past the stage just as they were starting and damn, what a show!

I think everyone has a singer or musician that passed away too young. Whenever my mind drifts to Dave all I can think is it's a damn shame he passed away so young at the beginning of his career. Never got to see them in person live, but any time I see a video of them live, the energy is insane. Crazy to think that you can have heart disease and deliver incredible shows like they did.
I can only imagine where Dave would stand among legendary singers today. No doubt Drowning Pool would likely be very different today. I'll leave it at that not to disrespect the guys or Jasen, but sometimes it's cool to imagine. Still love Drowning Pool to this day, Strike A Never is a great album.

Him, Shannon Hoon, Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain and Andy Wood; all great vocalists gone way before their time.
