While I agree that men's struggles and financial pressures to provide for the entire household are overlooked, it is now the norm for women to work equally outside and do 100% of household chores + act as a live-in maid for the inlaws. It's certainly true for Pakistani communities.

Compulsive liars have a poor prognosis. I know compulsive liars over my long, long lifetime and they never changed that nasty lying habit. I doubt many ever recover from this.
She said she wasn't materialistic but clearly she has been boasting about the rolex watch to everyone and now the only reason she feels cheated is she's embarrassed. Get over it.. if that was the only thing, why make it a big issue. If he is lying about other stuff too, yes, red flag. And like Dina said, designer replicas are pricey too, so he may have spent a bit on it. The main issue is why he felt that him buying you that watch would make you stay with him forever that's the main issue. The girl saying he's materialistic but from his point of view him to lie about the watch shows the girl is materialistic. That he had to impress her with such an expensive watch.

Naaah. It’s unfair to assume that she is materialistic that’s why he felt like he had to buy her a Rolex. It could just stem from his own insecurity where he thinks he needs to buy her stuff so that she would love him. Because he did have a whole “Rolex” on him before he got her one as well. It sounds like he has his own issues to sort.

Why was most of this video assuming things about the girl, yet when it was the guy she had to get over it and y'all minimized everything this guy did? He's not a child this is pure infantilization. She is not married too like she doesn't need to stick around for a boyfriend of a year, ESPECIALLY if she cannot bring herself to trust him. She actually has first hand experience with this guy for a year, don't dismiss her just because she's a young woman. What she should do is RUN. First of all, she clearly thought despite his age he was rich so the watch he bought her was real. I doubt she just thought he could afford it with no other proof, like for example, the one he lied about buying for himself prior to everyone else. And let's not forget all the fake authenticated papers he gave her. But it's her fault for being a naïve idiot and falling for it? It wasn't a lie that didn't hurt anybody, like why are you quick to absolve him of malice but then say that the girl was just mad that the watch wasn't real and she looked stupid? And whether he intended to hurt her or not, it's a lie and a lie is wrong. And he MANIPULATED her, he was trying to make her feel indebted to him and stay with him and never leave him, which is EVIL. Who knows what else he wanted to get out of her through that gift. And I'm sure she told her family and friends about this great gift he got her, (which isn't wrong though people saying she's a gold digging bragger) and now she doesn't trust him and neither do her parents and friends probably, as they shouldn't. Why only speculate over the potential materialism of the girl when he is CLEARLY the materialistic one and a liar on top of it. Lying about who he is essentially to get her. I know many liars young and old, even my own parents, PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS ADVICE! When you're single look for the most morally sound person that you're compatible with because this shit almost NEVER gets better. He didn't just say one lie or a lie for 24 hours, he kept her and whoever else she told like friends and family believing that lie for a year and LIED WHEN CONFRONTED ABOUT IT FOR AN HOUR. I'm sure he kept pretending it was real for a year, even if he didn't open his mouth, he used that lie for a YEAR and would have continued if not found out. lying about 20,000 dollars is not even a small lie?! Next he'll lie about buying a house somewhere, lie about being financially stable, lie about being faithful, like what??? Why was he so comfortable lying about something so grand that AS A 23 YEAR OLD ADULT HE CLEARLY KNEW everyone would hear about, I'm sure he thought even her family would love him too. This is evil, and it's stupidity on his part thinking he wouldn't get caught, though maybe he planned on pressuring her to for sex or something else before everyone found out the truth. DO NOT MARRY A FOOL OR A LIAR YOU WILL PAY THE PRICE!

I have a friend who was engaged for a couple of years to this guy who said he was financially stable and ready to get married. Thank goodness she found out before they got married that he was flat broke, didn’t own a house, was using all this money to pay for his mum’s debt and cars. The first thing anyone would assume from this comment and why this is concerning is the woman, my friend, is a gold digger. No, she also works. But she’s been lied to for how many years that they would be able to start a family immediately after they get married. But he has NOTHING. That’s entrapment in my books. It’s never wrong to want to be with someone who is financially reliable because trust me, it’s hell to be with someone who lies about money. RUN.

I feel like society has made it so hard for men to provide for their families nowadays. My sister told me the other day that her husband works so hard 16 hours a day over a week at a time. Sometimes without lunch breaks for an oil company and he’s too tired to even shower before going back to work😢 She mentioned to me that she has to literally put him in the shower with her and wash his hair and body for him. I literally started crying :( luckily my husband owns his own business and it’s not as draining. It’s draining but not like my brother in laws job.
