This is so accurate for me. Whenever people want me to do these, I often avoid them. I often go ahead of them and analyze the situation before falling onto their trap.
I remember walking down an eatery one day just passing time away, when I spotted A slightly heavy girl carrying her tray to a table when suddenly she tripped and nobody lifted A finger to help. So in my force of habit I ran to her and helped her myself. I picked her up first and she said (I'm so embarrassed thank you). All I could say is hey, the only ones who should be embarrassed are the ones sitting and stuffing there faces. And then as I walked her to a restroom I gave them all the death stare. Might have been too much but I was furious.
You did a good thing. Those people deserved that stare you gave them. You were right, the ones staring and not doing anything should’ve been the ones embarrassed. I would’ve done what you did, too.
