Thanks for the instruction, I love it, the pattern:

Row 3 = Row 1
Row 4 = Row 2
Row 5= Row 1
Row 6= Row 2
Row 7: K2, P2, K2, P2, K2, P2, CF6 (Cable Front 6: slip 3 stitches into the cables needle, put in the front, K3 , K3 from the cable needle, then K3), P2, K2, P2, K2, P2, K2
Row 8 = Row 2
Row 9: K2, P2, K2, P2, K2, P2, CB6 (Cable back 6: K3, slip 3 stitches into the cables needle, put in the back, K3, the K3 from the cable needle), P2, K2, P2, K2, P2, K2

and so on until you reach your desire length, then Bind Off.
Good luck
tom le Brilliant! That looks about right. I'm the worst (and laziest) pattern writer. I know there were a few people asking for it. Thank you!
RJ Knits may i know how many rolls of yarns did you use to make this scarf?
+tom le Hi tom, i've gotten to row 15 but i'm confused on how to start the next row. Do i start from row 1 or row 10?
thanks for explaining 😊😊
+Ami York start from row 10 till row 15 as many times you want till you have your desire length :)
hello even a person who does not know anything about knitting can finish knitting a scarf watching this vedio. thanks a lot cs
Just started knitting after so many years ago. Your videos helped bring back the basics and more. Thank you! 👍👍👍
Im a crocheter attempting knitting. I saw your video on casting and now I’m confident I can do a scarf. Your my only teacher and I thank you for your tutorials !!
I just started this pattern. I'm using a 4 worsted yarn and size 9 needles. Your instructions are very clear and very thorough. I just started knitting last month, crocheting for about ten years, and this video was a perfect introduction for cable knitting. Thank you :)
Your speed knitting and purling is beautiful! Truly inspiring.
Thank you for the video and the written pattern. I just finished this scarf. It's the first thing I've ever knitted.
I know there are lots of mistakes, but I think I did pretty good for first knitted project. 🙂
Thank you so much for the great and clear tutorial. I'm a beginner and knitting my first scarf thanks to you. Love from Holland
Ryan, you're the first person I've ever seen online. to cast on the same way that my mom showed me when I was a kid. Most of the knitters I've seen do the long-tail cast on, with the slingshot way of grasping the yarn. My mom was left handed, and I'm not, but I knit left handed. I've tried to knit right handed, but I think if I could pick up the speed knitting technique you showed in this post, I'll be ok :)
you just have such a good, kind energy!! it always makes me want to sit down and knit with you :)
Your tutorial videos on cables are the only ones i can understand! Thanks for the effort youre putting in making them, keep it up! Subbed :3
I agree❤️
i legit cant understand the last step on how to purl
Used to think knitting was boring, but nowwwww, thanksssssssssssss
you are an excellent teacher
I'm new to knitting, and your tutor is the best I seen.i can understand how to do it .🙏 Thank you so much ❤️
You are the absolute best! Your videos have gotten me through the "quar" and the "coron" as you call it, and I am looking forward to buying your book when it's out!
it's about time we get a real teacher! thanks for your way of teaching: slow, calm, and very clear. You are not afraid of repeating yourself for clarity. it's the first time I can consider making socks. All other videos are somehow OK, but there is always something missing somewhere along the instruction and that leaves me confused. Thanks again! Bibi.
You Sir are fantastic at explaining. I’m going to need that little pink needle first, but I’m saving this video to rewatch when I come back and try this. Thank you for your slow explanation. 😊
5 years later reply to myself, haha
I ended up making a scarf and I’m back today to make a matching headband because I kept the skein for exactly this “someday.” And today is someday. 😄 I’m relearning how to knit and it’s coming back easily rewatching and learning this video.
Thank you again! ❤
Thank you so much for your videos. I watched this today several times while knitting my first ever cables.
Have to agree bout the music. Really distracting. But then I'm not the one that's taken the time and effort to make the video lol.
Just want to say a huge thank you for this. My 1st time for cables and it's turning out really nice. Great video and instructions! ! Thank you to the gentleman that wrote out pattern as well!
I've subscribed and look forward to your other tutorials.
I loved the pattern.
I was like, I got time to do something at this period of time and why waste it and why not do something that interests me. Then I started off with knitting.
I saw your video on how to knot for beginners. Then.... I was confident enough to start a project where I happened to see this video and started away. The pattern looks confusing but I got it right away.
Thank you for the video tutorial.
Tom le thanks for the written instructions! I've just altered it to start by purling, p2, k2 for 12 stitches, then purl 9 stitches followed by k2, p2s for the last 12 stitches as he does in the video. So I've just reversed yours. Thank you for it!! :-)
Thanks for sharing the nice project. Instructions is very clear. Good luck
So beautiful !! Thank you so much for your teachings! I will give myself a try of knitting this pattern. Again thank you so much for this tutorial. ❤
I love your work! You are a great teacher.
I love this scarf 🧣🥰 thank you for sharing 🙏, I will make one for myself 😁 💕from Laos 🇱🇦
I have a couple of questions. I am a beginner. This scarf is literally the first thing I ever knitted. It turned out nice and was fun to make. 1: You begin knitting/purling for five rows before you begin using the cable needle. You end the scarf when it's the desired length. Shouldn't those five rows be repeated at the end of the scarf so when fringes are added, both ends look the same? 2) In your experience, what is the best looking most secure way to join a new ball of yarn when you run out mid project and then also the best way to deal with tails? Thanks!
i think for tails tht e best thing to do is to use a yarn need le and kind of sew it into the side seam so you cant see it anymore but theres no fraying yarn from it getting cut off
Just subbed! I tried knitting once and sucked at it, but I'm definitely trying again. Awesome production value too - the intro, the instructions, for me, everything works. Reading the comment about the music, I would have to disagree, since the music really creates this nice vibe, and for me, it keeps me paying attention to what you're saying. Sorry for the long comment, but I just found this channel by chance and was very impressed. Looking forward to your next videos!
Thanks Alberto! My music choices definitely seem to cause a bit of controversy around here, haha. But it's here to stay, otherwise all there'd be to listen to is the clicking of my needles!
I just love it when men knit :))
what size knitting needles do you use? and what kind of yarn?
you are the best teacher! Thank you so much!
Your skin is gorgeous! I have to know about your skin care program and if you were wearing anything on your skin.
Great tutorials. A little edge with such a traditional art. Yay!
Cable knitting shown here is easier to follow than your actual cable knitting video. Maybe because I know how to do a braid. Thanks anyway for the quick and easy lessons!
Thank you for a beautiful tutorial scarf when i finished it was my best scarf I knit thank you
Your videos are awesome! Thank you so much for making these. (:
I love this pattern and your tutorial! The video is excellent for a beginner. I just started knitting and this is my first scarf. My only question: do you have a written pattern for this? I can't always play the video in public when I am knitting to follow along and since I am just starting out, I am not confident enough to work without the pattern
Thank you so much for the helpful tips
Wow, what an easy way to cast on! I've been stuck on long tail cast ons.
I really appreciate you making this video 😅🙏🏽✨
I knit your gray and blue pattren and I am very happy
Great tutorial! Thank you!!!
I see you did something different in the middle there, what did you do? great video, I like that you are straight to the point and not long winded like other tutorials so I did not loose interest. thanks.
You know, the backwards loop cast on that you do might be a fast cast on but it can be a terrible cast on, namely, very tight. I myself prefer the long tail cast on and can do it fast, it just comes with years of doing the long tail cast on. In fact, I rarely ever use a different cast on unless the pattern says otherwise.
Hi. I am new in knitting so i ll give it a try thank-you
I like your videos so much more without music. You have a very calm voice
Beautiful and easy cables! Thank you!
I love this project and how you walk us through it. I used this pattern for a scarf I did 3 or 4 years ago for a friend. I want to make one for myself now but I was hoping you could recommend a type of yarn to use. The first one I made I used RedHeart super saver. It was not too easy to work with for this particular pattern. Would a natural fiber be better? Thanks in advance.
Thank you. Loved your work . Knitting a scarf for my son. Can I cast 43 ?
U r amazing teacher
It's beautiful.
Hello!! I hope you receive my message well ❤❤❤ Can you do a video on how to knit a KEYHOLE SCARF? I love your videos and yours are the easiest for me to follow. ❤❤❤
Very nice brother 👌 👍
I like your knitting
Hi Brian, thank you so much for this tutorial, I learn better when its visual. I don't know if this is the place to ask for another tutorial if you feel inclined to make one. I'm looking for a tutorial on how to make fingerless mittens with cables (without a gusset for the thumb, just a hole) for medium sized hands?
thank you for ur video. i like it
Your tutorials are excellent and have helped me a lot. I love this scarf-very clear directions. Just one thought-not a criticism. I find the music distracting as I am hard of hearing and you really do not need it. The lessons are great by themselves.
Very nice job thank
Hi, a bit late I know, but do you have a hat pattern to match? I made this scarf for my 4 year old son (used can't smaller needles obviously) And wanted a hat to match but can't find any I like. I've always been terrible at knitting and gave up years ago, and much better at crocheting, however i fancied a change and tried your scarf and turned out great and first time cabling too 😁 So thanks for the great tutorial!
Really nice; thank you.
I know this is late but how do you change colors in the middle
Hey there! Thank you for the tutorial, it has inspired me to knit !☺️ Could you tell me the multiple of cast ons if I modify the size
How do change colors knitting? I love your videos.
I love to knit but I struggle to do corrections when I make mistakes . How do I master that technique
I like your knit it is hard but it is very cool 😎 , but at last I made it correctly
How do you create a mirror image of the begining at the end? This tutorial needs more details. I have been trying to figure out myself to no avail. Thank you.
You left out a good part of the cable information
Beautiful scraf! I like the color and the pattern a lot. How much yarn did you use and what isthe brand/color of the yarn? And what is the size of the needles btw?
Hey there! what kind of yarn and needles size did you use? :)
Daima Somerhalder suter. Ke. Buni
Can you please do a video on how to do a scarf without any designs please
The scarf style is pretty and I have tried to follow it. For those who can not speak English, I would like you to write together in the language ofthe country.
Its funny my name is ryan too,and I love knitting
when casting on the way you do, is the short tail next to you or away from you? thanks for the instructions
The fact that I'm only here to knit my mom a scarf even if she's the one that actually knitted a scarf literally like that for me and i still have it to this day lol
wow so nice
Hellow Ryan & all knitting masters here, what size of needle should be use for this project ?
Hi, I'm a beginner at knitting and would find it more helpful if you could write out the pattern. At what row would I begin the CF6 and what row would I do the CB6?
do you recommend individual needles or are the ones that are connected by the string easier
Are you always knitting in the 9 center once you get to the cable part or do you switch back to the perl the next time
Hi, I need some assistance. I’m having a huge problem with the string inbetween the needles. The more stitches I do the longer the thread gets in the middle and it makes it difficult to progress. I can’t even get past the first dang row
This one is complicated. Do you have a simpler one for beginner?
Oh snap! I thought I could MAYBE do this but I can’t lol
Hello :)
Can i use chunky size yarn for these scarf pattern? and needles 6mm?
will it look weird?
@RJKnits Can you please tell me what size needles & yarn type you used please. Thank you!
Where can I find some diy videos where they knit as i learn it. This way I found on most video are so complicated and slow way.
If I wanted to make the scarf wider, in what increments should I increase the castons?
How to use two colours for knitting scarf if any vedio please share
Is the braid impossible to do without the cable? Are there any alternatives?
what brand of yarn love the orange color
Hi my name is christine, may i ask you how many yard of yarn you are using for this scraf? Thanks
purl makes it loose, is there any way I can tighten up or something
Hermoso trabajo pero no entiendo el idioma por favor subtitulos en español grasias Dios lo bendiga
Can you use the Long Tail Cast on method for this pattern?
Does anyone know how much yarn is needed for this scarf? What happens if I start knitting but run out of yarn? How do I incorporate a new roll into this?
I use long tail cast on
Can this be done using the long tail cast on method?
Thanks for this great video and scarf pattern. I never realized that cable knitting was so simple! However, I’m sorry to say that background music was painful to listen to and I now have a headache. : (
🌟Ryan! I need help making an infinity scarf! What do I do? Can you make a video on that one?
How many rows did you do to get the scarf that length.
Can u tell me details of ur yarn? Thanks in advance
does anyone know what size yarn and needles is best for this?
i really like this scarf but is there a written pattern?
Do you mean for Row 11 to be like Row 1 or Row 7?
Where did you get them knitting needles from?
