Happy Birthday to your youngest son! My hubby and I are considering of moving to Phil too. I think life is so much better over there, no ice and snowstorm like we are experiencing right now in Dallas. We are ready for the nice warm weather and friendly people. I think I would rather be in a rainy or stormy day in Phil, than being in ice and snowstorm, we are tired of freezing weather. The crime here in USA are getting pretty scary and you have to watch your surroundings all the time anywhere you go. Everything cost so much here now, and I think you're pretty lucky that you got out of America on time, you don't have to face the terrible inflation we are dealing with now. I think Baguio, is a very nice place, the weather is cooler and many nice places to go. Thanks again, for sharing your Phil experiences, and looking forward for more. Take care and God Bless Always!
Don't live in Baguio. There are much better alternatives to that. If you still want near BGC or Makati, I suggest you find a better place in Metro Manila, or near provinces.
Try vlogging too, like what she did. Filipinos like to watch videos of foreigners living in the Philippines or just any topic related to filipinos (Pinoy Baiting).....hahahaha.
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave your comment ☺️ I apologize for the late reply. We hope to visit Baguio sometime this year for sure.
Baguio is a nice and very healthy place due to the vegetables produced in that area, and I guess you would always walk up and down due to the mountainous terrain which is good physically 😅
As I have mentioned before when you guys just move in to the Philippines. It'll take awhile to get use to everything there but boy you're doing great. Actually, you guys didn't take that long to adjust. I really believe you made the right decision. What's important is you did it as a family. I look forward to seeing your upcoming videos. Happy birthday, Rowan! So happy for your family doing great in the Philippines. I've been to developed world countries in the past and I would say you're spot on with your observations. When cost of living is high, it is difficult to mantain a middle class lifestyle without sacrificing some quality of life. You have to do a lot of daily grind cycle.
You’re correct ☺️ it’s just a matter of what you’re willing to “sacrifice” and for us the space and material goods aren’t as important as they might be to others.
I’m SO JEALOUS,,, I want to live in the Philippines as well 😅 glad you’re having the grandest time of your life & spending more time with your family💜💚💙
Yes La Familia, I fully agree with you about the state of quality of life changed as far as you situations compared it when you guys were still in California. I see much vibrant, happiness in behavior now since moving in the Philippines. The number one thing i've noticed was the affordability wherever you go in the Philippines. My time is near also, to go back to California and to endure another stressful environment compared to living here. I live here in my house, two dogs, two cars and live on a budget less than one thousand dollars. I also know that the cost will be almost tripple when i'm back there. I remember 6 months ago, taking my wife to an all u can eat seafood restaurant, paying over $150.00. Many thanks for sharing your family life living in the Philippines. Have fun, stay healthy and safe. Your boys truly got adjusted to the weather, growing up more disciplined compared to kids their age in U.S. God bless
Thank you so much! We feel like it was a great choice for our family as well and we look forward to watching the boys immerse themselves in this culture.
From what I think is that there's advantageous living in a smaller space and that is makes you guys closer, having more bonding as a family. The Philippines is getting better especially now that the present government are building 6 millions of houses (within 6 years) for the poor that will get them out of the shanty house here in there on the streets and alleys of Manila and other big cities. The massive cleaned up in Manila bay, other areas where used to be a shanty houses located and repaired bridges are huge improvements. Hopefully, there will be no more street dwellers in every city or anywhere by year 2030 as the President said. Thank you for choosing the Philippines as your home. Stay safe and God bless.

Moving to the Philippines requires $$$Cash to stay for sure. So you say your only making a fraction of what you use to make back in the USA or 20% of it is a huge cut, guess depends on what you were making but you said you were living a middle class lifestyle in Cali so that would be around $200-$300K pe annum, still very good if in the 300K area. We moved here 6mos. ago but were were able to bring our online Amazon biz with us and its helped us get thru, since I won't start getting SS payments till another 2 yrs. This plus our investments in stocks provides our daily budget. We find that we not only spend for ourselves, but also for our relatives so they are part of our budget monthly, we have a farm in Bohol to support, rebuilding an existing house there and paying multiple relatives a monthly paycheck for them to get by so definitely $$ is a big plus when moving here in the Philippines. Thank you so much! Yes, we really appreciate all the different details and spaces throughout this city that are camera friendly so we have to be sure to share it!
The Philippines is a great country its a developing country and massive construction going on it a highly place to live in , where is like especially in a modern city like BGC, Makati,Rockwell,Eastwood,Ortigas and other cities you can have those pretty much western brands that you can find it here to be honest the Philippines has thev modern buildings that you can ever find today comparing to other country's,
Hi Ate Cristina. Looks like you’re enjoying and adapting to our country. You sound more confident now and even happier in your vlogs. I love your videos. Hope you can explore more outside the metro. You still have Visayas and Mindanao hehe. God bless and take care po. 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Oh my! I am so behind on comments mama!! Thank you for taking the time to leave one for us, we hope you're enjoying your travels right now and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Maybe a trip together soon too 😉
Wow thank you for appreciating the Philippines. too much positive vibes! Im a filipino and i can say that, yes it is still fun living here in the Phil in every aspect compared to other countries. Stay safe, happy and positive. 😎
Hi Cristina, congratulations you now really adapted and made adjustments there staying in the Philippines with your family. You made yourself home and meet more friends, places and hopefully a permanent resident.
Still affordable in the Philippines. My husband and I went for lunch at the Japanese restaurant and we ordered two bento box, two orders of mixed tempura, and no drinks. It cost us $95.00. Now a days in U.S. if you go out expect to spend at least $40.00 a person or more.
Your kids when they grow and when they will be on their own will become great individual being respectful, polite and caring to the children and the elderlies as some of the best treat of Filipinos.
Happy birthday to your son 🎂🎉 thank you for sharing your good thoughts about the philippines. I'm from the philippines too, moved here in the US 6 years ago now. Still, I get homesick and depressed. I miss my home so much. My husband and I are planning to retire there, too! I can't wait to move back home. Here in the US, it's getting bad, so depressing, and lots of crazy people. Anyway, I'm happy for you guys that you are enjoying your life out there. Keep safe and sound!
So happy for you guys. You really adjusted really well and moving to a place like BGC really does help ease the transition. You guys definitely made the right decision because the ultimate goal is finding that balance of happiness for your family.
You guys are the best! Thank you so much for being such great friends to us. We look forward to spending even more time and vacations together while we are living here 🏝️😊
Aloha, Happy Birthday to Rowan, enjoy your special day and may you have more exciting birthdays to come, take care and stay safe with your family in the Philippines.
I can tell you're enjoying your time there in the Philippines & you look so much more at ease with vlogging. Is it just practice? I started filming videos to post but I look so stiff & shy that I don't want to post them! We are preparing to move to the Philippines from the U.S. as well (we are currently in Texas).
Yes and yes! Just go ahead and start posting them... you will adjust and start to get more comfortable. It definitely wasn't easy when I first started. Thanks for watching 😊
This is so inspiring, I’ve been thinking about this for a couple of years now. I just have to convince my wife, she’s from CA as well, to take the plunge and experience the island living. Happy BDay bunso! 🎂
Happy Birthday Rowan!!!!Cristina - I'm happy that you are enjoying the laundry services, the facial services, and the gyms of the Philippines....Looking forward to your Q & A vlog.....
Your vids are unique in a way that you add spoofs for your closing vlog. Most filipinos actually enjoy this quite a bit. You'll notice this in the filipino movies a lot especially the comedy and/or RomCom type of films. This is refreshing to watch (your vlogs.) New sub here for sure! Greetings from CA>TX>>>>>>>>>>PH
To make sure that I see lots of ads on your videos, I watch your vids for 5 mins or so. Then, I watch other vids, then return to your video and watch again for 5mins. I repeat this several times. I even replay parts of the video. ☺
Trivia: A usual or regular haircut for men or boys these days esp. in an ordinary barbershop and not those that are found in big malls would only cost P50.00 or about less than a dollar in today's exchange rate.
Yes it can be much less in other parts of Manila. We know that our “bargain” price seems high for a local but I’m sure other foreigners would find that price to be affordable.
I haven't even finished watching this video yet, this video is by FAR the most informative and intriguing video Ive seen in many years. You didn't edit the mistakes out. I felt like you're a very trusted source. This video is extremely entertaining also. The best really. I can hardly wait to see more :) Thank you for being real, open and just plain amazing!
I’m glad you’re enjoying the Philippines! Can’t wait to visit again. ❤️ I haven’t watched all your videos but I hope you visit Baguio city, El Nido Palawan (island life), Laguna for more hiking trails. ❤️
Had not had the chance to watch your videos for a while, BUT this video, you and fam looked ALL good specially you ! Prettier, leaner, and relaxed. I guess the acclimatization sat well on you and family. Goodluck and enjoy the lifestyle !
Yes there are - however, we get a lot of flexibility with homeschool. It allows us to travel and do things without being stuck to a traditional school schedule.
I’ve lived in the US ( California) for 43 yrs now. I’m 2 years away from retirement . Bought a condo at Bloom residences in Parañaque and Beach property in Batangas. Almost set . Glad your family has adjusted there. You’ll be fine.
Thank you for answering my questions and I am very glad you guys and the other people you interviewed did not regret moving in there, We will be there end of May, hopefully I can meet you guys 😊 Happy birthday Roro 🎉
I just love your video contents. You guys are very kind so I hope that you will get all the kindness back from the Filipino people. For sure, there are some if not many people who would abuse your kindness so please take good care of yourselves especially the kids. I'd love to watch more of your videos. God bless you guys!
Great informational video. We are getting ready to move back there as well in 18 months, getting our house ready for the market in the Fall. Thanks so much.
Wow! That's fantastic - we hope you will find your move to be easier and less stressful than ours (which was really pretty easy as well) - Salamat po and ingat 'til next time ✌🏼
I hope you would have time to visit some historical sites in the Philippines. I will suggest a few places like 1) Corregidor Island also known as the Island Fortress, 2) Secret Underground War Tunnels of Fort Bonifacio (BGC), and 3) The cavernous El Deposito in San Juan City Metro Manila which is one of the oldest underground reservoirs in the world. I highly encourage you also to visit some museums in the Metro Manila to understand better the socio-cultural and historical aspect of the country. I recommend 1) Ayala Museum in Makati, 2)National Museum Manila, 3) and The Lights And Sound Museum in Intramuros Manila. Enjoy your stay and stay safe.
Nice to find you and your channel again after months that I saw one of your videos last year... anyway I subscribed to your channel just now and I let an ad run through without skipping it so as to show my support to you and your channel.
Congratulations on your upcoming move! I think it depends on your personal preferences, we chose to sign up with Cigna Global and our coverage is strictly for emergency purposes and anytime we'd need to be admitted to a hospital. We did receive complimentary age appropriate screenings and physicals for the entire family since we paid for the entire year up front. We've also learned that seeing a doctor here can be quite affordable, however we are glad that we haven't had to do that.
Thank you so much for watching - we recently learned that the LIVE can only be done when we've got 100K subs on the channel. We're hoping that will happen this year and then we can do a LIVE with everyone 😊
I was inspired watching the video and reading through the comments. You made me think about retiring in the Philippines, maybe not in BGC, but maybe in Iloilo City because of the surrounding islands and a river. I might ask my future wife, whoever she maybe, about living on Iloilo in the Philippines. Its city center is like a mini BGC and rapidly expanding. It should only get bigger than BGC in 10 years. It's the cleanest city in the country , and no traffic, and its commercial roots trace a direct link to Spain. Once dubbed as the Queen City of the South because it was the favorite place of a queen from Spain, in the colonial past. Nowadays, it's called the City of Love, lol! You would probably cut your monthly expenses in Iloilo by at least 20% without sacrificing quality of life while interacting with the kindest and most affectionate community of Filipinos. They speak good Tagalog down there, although their mother tongue is Hiligaynon(or Ilonggo, easy language to learn), although English is widely spoken too, maybe, just maybe more often than in Metro Manila, with a peculiarly and affectionately lilting accent. If you opt to explore the off- beaten path, take a few days off and swing down there and visit Boracay Beach and Gigantes island, two world- class resorts. Not far off are Palawan and other world-class islands. You can plan on a family vacation twice a year to do island-hopping. You are probably aware of the country's 7,611 islands. The economy will explode, being one of the fastest growing economies in the world. It will produce a few Singapores , maybe in the next 50 years. If you want to learn deeply, almost scholarly, of the ancient past of the Philippines, watch the video series put out by The God Culture(TGC) on UA-cam. Subscribe. You will love it. Your kids will love it, but it will require a concentrated effort for its documentary style. I have watched multiple videos multiple times. They have other series too. But the Solomon's Gold series is an ideal start for Filipinos and have it seque to the others, like the Creation series. Here's the playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLru2qbCMGOi4PhVocfJEi1oZRRj0AWnzx.html There are 105 videos in this playlist. Watch them through in numerical order. Don't skip over, you might get confused. Some videos may require more than 1 viewing. Make the watching of this series a family affair . Watching this series made me appreciate my identity, even become proud as a Filipino Christian. Above all, you will get closer to God and be thankful for His ways and promises. God has a wonderful plan for our country. Hindi nya nakalimutan ang ating bayan. This video series will clarify this unfolding divine plan as you go through this series. It's mind-blowing! Be ready to get surprised, stunned, shocked. AND EDIFIED! Is your stay in the Philippines permanent? I suppose you have lots of savings to support your great life and maybe won't worry too much about working at all. Wow, you are loving, living la vida "loca", lol. Have fun learning Tagalag even though your English is way more than enough to get by. There are a few good private Roman Catholic schools around, but maybe not too close to BGC, where you can have you kids receive a good education there and learn Tagalog, too. Avoid the overly pricey international schools. At some point, you may want to return to work, whatever that means, unless your nest egg is quite large. Keep on making these videos! If your fandom reaches half a million, that would be cool. And doable. Expand and diversify your topics and make it frequent. Create a story line of sorts to create a continuity. It helps to give your kids a few short, speaking parts. When you guys start throwing in a few catchy Tagalog phrases, your audience will get tickled to death. I know Filipinos. I'm one. That's how you get us addicted. You can do it. And that could be your fun part-time job! Enjoy my country, should I say our country?
Thank you so much for the in-depth comment and for sharing the playlist as well. We are here permanently for now and we hope to continue building this channel as well as other businesses here in the 🇵🇭 thank you for watching and subscribing - ingat po!
Hi! I'm a follower before you came here in Ph. And then you and your family moved here. And the same energy you have in the US kinda faded and I'm kinda irritated with your every complaints. Even the humidity knowing that this is a tropical country. But now, I could feel that the same Livin La Vida Tagalog's radiance. And I will definitely watch again your videos. Hope to see you around and keep that light glowing because you never know who needs some spark for their day.

Off the beaten paths that could interest you are kind of farflung, if you really dare. Try Iligan City with the many options of their waterfalls, Cagayan De Oro for their white water kayak adventures, Batanes for the scenic beauty.
Happy Birthday Rowan! Btw if you guys are looking for a local off the beaten path adventure. Check out Iloilo city and the Island of Guimaras where can get the sweetest mangoes ever.
I lived in Sylmar Ca for more than 20 years. Had a business, a job and a mortgage. I came back home 2019 before all hell breaks loose in the US. Covid, crime rate off the roof, prices went up, homelessness etc etc etc. After I sold my house and my business. Best decision of my life. and oh, Wifey does not have to wake up 5am just to travel to DTLA.
I'm interested in moving to BGC with my husband and 9yo son. I don't have any family connections and only know a few people there, I am worried about finding connections for myself and my son. Is there a group you can join? Is it easy for the kids to make friends?
There are several expat groups out here that one can join. The boys have been able to make friends and they’re looking into joining different sports/gaming clubs. I’ve made plenty of friends through the gym and from vlogging.

Hi Cristina, you guys look so happy with your new life there. I’m so envious. I’m actually coming home in 2 weeks and I was wondering what gym you work out at? I’m looking for a gym in BGC. Any recommendations? I work out at least 5 days a week and don’t want to stop too long since I’ll be there till July.

Happy birthday bunso! 🥳🥳🥳
Thank you so much!
Thank you for choosing Philippines, it more fun in the Philippines. Enjoy your stay!
It is beautiful 🤩
Still affordable in the Philippines. My husband and I went for lunch at the Japanese restaurant and we ordered two bento box, two orders of mixed tempura, and no drinks. It cost us $95.00. Now a days in U.S. if you go out expect to spend at least $40.00 a person or more.
😳 yes! Even at fast food places we've seen such a difference in costs. Thank you for sharing and for watching as well ☺️
All these guys should be recognized by Tourism industry of the country. Thank you all so much.
WOW! That's an incredibly sweet compliment. Thank you so much.
Your kids when they grow and when they will be on their own will become great individual being respectful, polite and caring to the children and the elderlies as some of the best treat of Filipinos.
Thank you for such a sweet comment - we hope and pray they grow up to be polite, respectful and a great contribution to their future homes.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for loving the Philippines ❤❤❤
Bring here out her on a vacation and hopefully that will be all the convincing you will need for her!
Happy Birthday Rowan!!!!Cristina - I'm happy that you are enjoying the laundry services, the facial services, and the gyms of the Philippines....Looking forward to your Q & A vlog.....
Happy birthday Rowan!
Thank you so much! Hope you’re enjoying the channel ☺️
Thanks! 😃 We appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment for us!
To make sure that I see lots of ads on your videos, I watch your vids for 5 mins or so. Then, I watch other vids, then return to your video and watch again for 5mins. I repeat this several times. I even replay parts of the video. ☺
Thank you so much for your strategy 😊 we appreciate you watching at all!
Trivia: A usual or regular haircut for men or boys these days esp. in an ordinary barbershop and not those that are found in big malls would only cost P50.00 or about less than a dollar in today's exchange rate.
70
@@solkalibri1376 for metro.manila but touristy area but in other big cities it's 50
Wow, thanks! So glad you’re enjoying it 😊
I’m glad you’re enjoying the Philippines! Can’t wait to visit again. ❤️ I haven’t watched all your videos but I hope you visit Baguio city, El Nido Palawan (island life), Laguna for more hiking trails. ❤️
Happy Birthday handsome🎂🎂🎂God bless you and your family😘
Thank you!
You look younger since moving to Philippines
It’s starting to feel like I found the secret to reverse aging 😂
Happy birthday Roro/Bunso.
Thank you po!
Had not had the chance to watch your videos for a while, BUT this video, you and fam looked ALL good specially you ! Prettier, leaner, and relaxed. I guess the acclimatization sat well on you and family. Goodluck and enjoy the lifestyle !
Thank you so much for all of the sweet compliments! Hope you've been able to continue watching 😉
Happy Birthday Rowan.God bless you more
Salamat po!
There are a lot of high educational institution where you can enroll your sons. Singapore school in magallanes is just a 30 minutes away from bgc..
Fantastic! We've driven by that condo complex on the Sucat Expressway ☺️ and we love Batangas too!!
Thank you for answering my questions and I am very glad you guys and the other people you interviewed did not regret moving in there, We will be there end of May, hopefully I can meet you guys 😊 Happy birthday Roro 🎉
That would be so awesome! Absolutely message me on IG if you can and we can totally meet up 😊
Glad your adjusting your stay here, we welcome you and your family. Enjoy
Thank you so much for watching!
I just love your video contents. You guys are very kind so I hope that you will get all the kindness back from the Filipino people. For sure, there are some if not many people who would abuse your kindness so please take good care of yourselves especially the kids. I'd love to watch more of your videos. God bless you guys!
Thank you so much for the sweet compliments 🥰

I am so happy for you. You exude joy in this video. Enjoy life's blessings.
Awwww, thank you so much 🥰
Great informational video. We are getting ready to move back there as well in 18 months, getting our house ready for the market in the Fall. Thanks so much.
Wow! That's fantastic - we hope you will find your move to be easier and less stressful than ours (which was really pretty easy as well) - Salamat po and ingat 'til next time ✌🏼
I get back to LA and what do you know…I’m on your vlog. 😅 Thank you again for spending part of your day/evening with me.
You are so welcome! Sorry for the late reply 😊 hope you're adjusting to the cooler weather out in SoCal right now!
@@LLVT totally understand. It has been strange seeing hail and seeing plenty of snow on almost all the local mountains! Take me back to the tropics
Thank you for choosing phils stay safe god bless your family
Salamat po!
Happy Birthday Bunso 🎂. yeah do a live QnA. So, my ❓ is what do you do (job, business etc) to cover up your expenses.
Thank you so much! I hope that we can do a live for our 50k episode, that would be a lot of fun.
Pets are always a concern. Miss my Troy so much, he is my son's boxer. The most loving buddy I ever have.
Yep - we'd love to bring our Senna girl here but she's definitely not a city girl.
I like the way kuya rowan blew off his birthday cake candle swinging his hand. My respect! 😊
☺️ he made us proud by not blowing germs all over the cake!
These are all wonderful suggestions ❤️ thank you so much for sharing!
I wish you and your family the best life here in the Philippines 👌 👍
Happy Birthday to your son...Good luck and God bless 🙌 🙏 ❤️ your family 🍀💓
Salamat po!
enjoy..watching here from Zambales
❤️
Nice to find you and your channel again after months that I saw one of your videos last year... anyway I subscribed to your channel just now and I let an ad run through without skipping it so as to show my support to you and your channel.
Awesome! Thank you so much for subscribing and we hope you continue to watch 😉
Glad you're loving the Phils. ❤. We're moving there mid this year too. Just wondering if you have any recommendations for health insurance ? 😊
Happy birthday Rowan. 🎊🎉🥳
Thank you!
The SPA and the househelp are two of the biggest advantages.
Absolutely!
I'm a new fan! I am American-Filipino and this was interesting to watch! Gonna watch more. Ingat kayo dyan.
Thank you so much for watching and being a fan too ☺️
Great video,. All positive side of life in the Philippines....looking forward to live Q&A. Appreciate the input of your friends. God bless.
Here's the playlist:
ua-cam.com/play/PLru2qbCMGOi4PhVocfJEi1oZRRj0AWnzx.html
There are 105 videos in this playlist.
Happy birthday Rowan! Hope I got your name right. You're such a fine boy!!
Yes! Thank you!
Happy Birthday Rowan 🎂🎈🎉
Thank you!
Awww! Thank you for coming back and watching, I'm sorry if you felt any kind of negativity previously. We try to keep things as honest as possible and also maintain positivity.

Off the beaten paths that could interest you are kind of farflung, if you really dare. Try Iligan City with the many options of their waterfalls, Cagayan De Oro for their white water kayak adventures, Batanes for the scenic beauty.
Awesome!! Thank you for sharing these - we love to see and experience nature.
Glad that your family is happy living in the Philippines. Happy Birthday Rowan.🎂🎂🎂
Thank you!
Happy Birthday Rowan! Btw if you guys are looking for a local off the beaten path adventure. Check out Iloilo city and the Island of Guimaras where can get the sweetest mangoes ever.
I really want to go visit Iloilo City, it looks amazing! Thank you for the suggestion ☺️
That’s fantastic! I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying life more now. Thank you so much for watching and sharing positive vibes in the comments ✌🏼
Have a wonderful great blessed and Happy birthday bunso and many more blessed years to come 🙏💖🧁🎂🍨🎉
Thank you po!
Thank you for loving our country❤👏👏
Thank you!!
Hi cristina.. 😊 good eve im Willing and waiting for The LIVE Q&A Cristina please Go for it.. so that there Will be a good bonding between your subscribers and viewers. 😅 coz were now head in’ and leading road for 50k thats why we need The LIVE Q&A portion to Help BOOST your Channel LLVT THANKZ 😊
Awesome!! We'd love to do a LIVE Q&A - we did learn that we need to reach 100K subs before we can do a live video. Hopefully we can make it to 100K this year (the sooner the better 😉) in order to do a full LIVE with our viewers!!
Hi! We are enjoying our life here so much. I go to Bare Manila in BGC - I'm so sorry if my reply it late for you but hopefully you get the chance to go workout there. Shoot me a DM on Instagram and let me know if/when and maybe I can meet you there ☺️
Happy birthday bunso
Salamat po!
Thank you for liking and loving Philippines.
A few days ago ( in the news ) TRAVEL with Me 2023 ( ABC 7 here in cali ). , they mentioned Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, New Zealand as the best vacation destinations.
Other nationalities when they asked me where i came friom and tell them i’m born and raised in the Philippines,
the question is WHERE is That?😂😂😂😂
Oh wow! It's a bit of a bummer how underrated this place is as a vacation destination but it's also a nice little "hidden secret" 😉
