More into cars but the simplicity of working on these honda bikes and how cheap it seems along with your videos is making me want to get into this after my accord phase.
Glad to see someone else out there has an Evo and a Grom haha. Cool vid man, may have to follow suit with the intake and ECU because 55-60 mph with the wind at your back can get old on a 50 mile ride
I just started watching grom videos like maybe 2-3 days ago. I’m planning on getting a new 2020 grom here in the next month. I was thinking about swapping the engine and throwing a Koso 170cc Big Block with 4V Head and doing the intake and ecu. This video showed up on my recommendations and I’m glad it did. Congrats on your upgrades! This just made me want to get it even more. 🤙🏻
Well Guy you sound like a kid with his new Dragster. You should be excited about your new setup, you put in quite a bit of work on that nice little bike. Enjoy and be careful riding it. Nice little demo guy. Don Powell, Tyler, Texas, USA. 🏍
Good stufffffff! I did the Yoshimura exhaust and modded the stock air box removing two of the snorkels as well as the mesh attached to the filter and I can hit 65 no problem myself...I really like the look of your vents exposing the cone filter and dinger built piping ...looks killer
I think people underestimate going 60mph on a bike. I’ve never ridden a grom but I have a built and upgraded pocket bike that rips and it’s so much fun.
To get more speed on small bikes in my mind adding "better" exhaust and intake gives a little more top end power but no extra rpm so it will be a tad more powerful when your wrist is snapping itself wide open. The real benefit would come from increasing low down torque and changing sprockets so you can get there quicker and still have the same or better top speed. How often are you wide open vs accelerating🤔
@Michael Davis that's what makes these kind of bikes the most fun is the acceleration. I mean they aren't really built for really high speed anyway. Popping wheelies and that's where the funs at I think.
i put in a straight pipe intake and new ecu. did the reflash for my setup and i can get it to rev limit at 73 no problem. only time it struggles to get over 70 is with head on wind or a hill
Yup fantastic wee film Anthony. The thing is with the wee Honda Grom parts are cheap and don't cost a fortune. The up grade to your bike is very straightforward and I dare say most people can do themselves. It's an easy bike to work on with out must hassles. The brill thing was you noticed a big difference in performance as well. Which is even better news after your simple modes. Love the wee Honda grom and thinking about buying one myself. That's why I love watching these small films on how to boost things up abit.
no offense but, anyone else notice he was using the knife with the plastic guard still on the tip at 2:20? its not a big deal but was kinda funny to see. Keep up the good work anthony!
We have 95 octane "super" as basic and "super plus" with 98 upto 108 octane I guess :D Maybe thats why I run about 68mph on a straight with just exhaust and little air filter mod (no complete change). Have to do the ECU reset as I don't know if the former owner ever did. Nontheless your reaction is priceless :D - keep up your cool videos!
Got a Toce dual exhaust, gonna put the dinger built (currently just a box mod) intake on it, and DHM just authorized a dealer literally 5 mins from my house to do on site ECU flashes. Oh its on!
The mpg would decrease slightly, when you install a full exhaust and an intake, the air to fuel ratio is lean. There is more airflow than the stock ecu outputs. So you would see maybe a 3-6 mpg decrease with the power? This my personal guess with the experience I have.
Very nice video! I have a 2015 Honda Grom. Just with a slip on & sprocket 14T sprocket throws the speedometer off by 3 miles per hour at about 15-30mph & 4mph 50+ my other buddy has a Honda Grom bone stock & when we ride side-by-side I would stare at his speedometer, lol that's how I can tell that it throws it off, just an FYI 👍😎👍🛵💨69mph btw is fast as shit! & as long as you're happy with your bike that's what matters 😁 I'm just keeping mine stock mostly 4 reliability purposes good enough 4 me.. i just have fun riding it around w/friends. Love the Grom 👍👍
A good quality kit that’s a sensible bore is reliable. As long as the kits piston is a similar weight to standard there will be little extra stress, good fuelling is key. More torque low down means there’s no need to rev it so high.
14t sprocket. So presuming the speedo to be accurate you got 62.5 at an indicated 67 and 67.2 at an indicated 72. Because of the way a grom engine dumps torque at higher rpm you probably only just about got it's stock top speed back. You will have a little better acceleration in gear but overall lowering gearing on a 4spd bike which can't rev isn't the best idea.
for the race it's ez 160+ for 125cc and 150cc asians like us live with small bike to push it hard enough but for the street use i'd say 130+ is the best number for fast and reliable we TH don't have luxury of variety like PH MA or IN kinda jealous that you have the hands on many bike that we dream of Y15R Ultraman edition as example hope one day our market will be the same someday.

They look pretty cool. I am currently on a Triumph Speed Triple. This would be an absolute shock to my system!! My wife on the other hand has never ridden. Tossing the idea of selling/trading my Speedy for 2 Groms. 9 hp makes my guts tighten. We just bought a camper a couple months ago. The idea is the ability to toss both in the back of our truck and tool around where we go camping or buzz around town. We also have tons of UTV trails around us. We are in the Midwest. Do you think I would have tremendous buyer’s remorse? Again, it’s to get my wife riding and another thing for us to do together. I ride solo now and don’t really like it. I like riding with someone. Great video!! Thoughts??

Great vid man, currently running a 2018 Honda cb125r with a gianelli exhaust which improved the performance by a lot, currently waiting on a k&n air filter to arrive from America and hoping that adds a little extra to it 🏍
for a 125cc here in PH, 67mph is like running a stock scooter in flats, we can do something about that, like running 120kph's(gps read) with just a little mods port, camshaft, valve springs and injectors or carburetors with no bore up or stroke same as adding conrod pin Height
It didn't LOOk like he was in full tuck when trying to top it out so that probably took 5-7mph off top speed...I was judging by the shadow of him so it's a guess. And like the other comment said, with small cc engines a lot comes into play when judging the top speed of the bike
Ok now I’m in decisive… which air intake should I get? The singer built? Or the chimera??? Both uses K&N filters which I’m a big fan of K&N. Current have a K&N cold air intake system in my Honda civic and it’s flawless.
I must be doing something wrong. I got my ECU flashed from DHM and see almost no difference. A little more power in 4th gear. I have a cheap iStunt exhaust, MNNTHBX intake and a 14t front sprocket. DHM recommends taking the baffles out of the exhaust. I have an aftermarket baffle in because the exhaust was just too damn loud. I'm wondering if I remove it will it make a big difference.
I just wrecked going only 50mph around a bend that was oily for some reason. cant wait to get a new set of clutch and brake levers and a new shifter so that I can finally ride again :( didn't sustain any injuries myself other than some abrasion and surprisingly only cosmetic damages to the bike :D ride safe everyone!
It needs a turbo to big for the bike. Next mod put a big ass turbo on it. The inners of the engine don't matter the loud bang and lack of rpm doesn't matter.
How does the flashed ecu compare to stock ecu with the filter + exhaust apart from higher rpm? Does it run any different? I heard if you reset the ecu once the mods are done the bike will adjust the fuel to the new air ratio.
Maybe someone could help me out here. I've got an exhaust and a dcr cam in my grom, and I'm looking to do the air intake. I already have the ecu flashed for the camshaft. What would I need to do to add an air intake? Thanks.
Question do you have a tutorial guide on how to modify the vents ? .... I just purchased mines and I was wondering how you modified yours? Lmk please thanks
Yeah it does speed limit occassionally. You could probably buy a bike with a little bigger displacement. It till a mini bike. You can put lip stick on pig. It is still a pig or a grom.
