      @ladybird491 Well, for one thing, ratting hair is really bad for hair and easily damages it. This comes from my Mom who was a teen in the 60's

    I learned to do this in beauty school in 1989 without doing a small ponytail underneath the hair. We had to roll and pin the hair freehanded. Your method is much easier.

    Since I hate back combing I wonder if I should try the victory rolls or skip that part and do my usual quiff type front.

    • @HairAngels
      @HairAngels  2 роки тому +1

      Backcombing really helps the victory rolls keep their shape and makes it much easier to control them as your roll them. You could try adding some some texture powder to the front if you’re not into backcombing? Or a quiff would look great too 🙂

    • @ArabianShalifa
      @ArabianShalifa 2 роки тому +1

      Well I tried it today. My victory rolls look more like 80s feathered than victory rolls. Maybe because I am a child of the the 80s. I did try a little back combing yet I think I wear my hair too long to make them look right or I need to spend more than the two hours trying I already spent. Can’t do this often. Want it for a special couple we are taking out tonight.

    • @HairAngels
      @HairAngels  2 роки тому +1

      Oh nooo lol 😂 if your hair is long long, then victory rolls can be tricky without them being fully backcombed. Maybe stick with the quiff at the front? Xx

      Yes, you could use heated rollers, or normal rollers in damp hair (although both methods would take longer than a curling tong. 🙂

    • @HairAngels

      If you use heat protectant then you certainly won’t fry your hair lol 😂 adding a curl to the hair helps you form the shape a lot easier than trying to do it from straight

    Thanks for the video, but I have a comment that's peripheral to the hairstyle. I personally feel a mixture of creeped out and pissed off at these new (?) hyper-pretty mannequins. I HAVE to look at faces like that because advertisers insist that that look is the ideal. What bhugs me is how the goal post on beauty keeps moving further and further away as more women approach the ideal. Look at fashion magazines from the 1980s. Even then people were complaining about clothes and models being too much thinner than the majority of the population. Now they are even thinner, and just when accepting your body as it is gains a slight toehold in the culture(s), women are presented with another ideal that is only achievable through surgery or genetics. I went to a wig site and the dummy heads were all stunningly beautiful. Like some creepy guy in a basement mass producing his fantasy woman. How can that not act on our psyches in a negative way?
