Dark Cloud is an action role-playing video game developed by Level-5 and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. Originally intended as a launch title for the PS2 (March 2000) the game was eventually released in Japan in March 2000, in North America in May 2001, and in Europe in September 2001. In December 2015, the game was made available via emulation for the PlayStation 4 through the PlayStation Network. A spiritual sequel, Dark Chronicle (called Dark Cloud 2 in North America), was released in Japan in 2002 and worldwide the following year.
Uniquely combining the mechanisms of action role-playing games with elements of city-building games, Dark Cloud tells the story of a group of adventurers who band together to fight against the Dark Genie, who has attacked and destroyed many villages. The main protagonist and player character is Toan, a boy who is given a magical stone called the Atlamillia by Simba, the Fairy King, granting him the power to rebuild the destroyed lands. The game begins as Colonel Flag Gilgister of the Lagoon Empire Army of the East attempts to awaken the Dark Genie, a legendary evil creature, whom Flag wishes to use to control the world. Upon summoning the Genie, Flag orders him to attack the West. However, prior to the attack, Simba, the Fairy King, casts a protective spell around the land, sealing the buildings, objects and people inside magical orbs called "Atla. Due to the power of the Genie's attack, however, the orbs are scattered.

Never realized how much Seda's demon form looks so much like Sasuke and his curse mark form. And it seems like this game was released before that naruto issue was released, but it's most likely just the style and what was cool at the time.
I also found out that Seda has the exact same hairstyle as Sakura would have in the first few episodes of Naruto Shippūden.
I would love to see both Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2 get a remake remastered for PlayStation 5 with Upgraded Graphics with Unreal Engine Technology with Improved Gameplay, new features and more in the future.
One of the best games I’ve ever played. I have never regretted getting this game on PlayStation 4 as part of PS2 Classics back in 2016 and I have been playing it ever since. This is like I am playing it on PlayStation 2 for the first time ever. It was no doubt challenging to compete the story no doubt. I have replayed the story a few times including recently when I got my PlayStation 5 for Christmas last year. I just loved the story, gameplay, the characters and the Music and The Soundtrack.

This game was the weirdest Legend Of Zelda spin off but an amazing journey and story telling for sure. I wish they where more and I wish they didn't just knocked off the main character from dark cloud.

It's a small shame that we NEVER got to know if Seda has a canonical last name in the first Dark Cloud or if he and Sophia are married or not.
It's such a mystery to us. 🤔

I think that he and Sophia might've gotten married before Seda rode out to battle.
And I like to think that Seda's canonical last name is the same as Monica's and her father's in DC2.
Weird final boss considering Darl Genie is released and is shown as a giant fat being, and you dont fight him at all as such
That was not the real dark genie. Just something that got caught in the seal as well that absorbed a small amount of the true dark genie's power
That' literally in the game. The fat one is a mouse who sneaked into the cauldron
oh so you really can't dodge that wind attack, huh. here i was thinking i was just brute forcing it by using stamina potions.
i really would have thought using ungaga's supposed ability to control wind would have been some sort of counter-attack lol
