As a former lesbian and now Christian, I can tell you that soooo many people in general have been sexually abused as children, and as adults. And due to that trauma the normal ways it plays out in behaviors and emotions is a person is more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol to numb pain, memories, etc. Often has no sex drive, or hypersexual and sleeps around and has risky sexual exploits with men and women, or you completely swear off the gender whom abused you and form emotional and romantic bonds with the same sex because it's safer. So God didn't make anyone born gay, it is through sin of others and sexual abuse that often creates those nuances in our personalities. Look how we all cope with trauma, either you know someone or are someone struggling with trauma. Only God can bring peace and healing, and although therapy and self development can help, God is the only healing balm we truly have.

Why they never talk about other planets and galaxy ? The day we’ll find alien you’ll all be shocked to see that there is no god and we are just the lucky combination of chemicals that happens everywhere in the universe
The simple answer is that God doesn’t make people gay. That’s the equivalent of saying God makes people murders or adulterers. People make their own decisions and over time their views and feelings might change. Even still, it is one thing to struggle and have sinful desires, as we all do, it is a total other thing to act out those desires and have pride in them. My grandpa would say that God would create people who were "different" to test our kindness and love for our neighbors. I'm not Christian but those words have stuck with me for years.
Edit: it seems a lot of you interpreted this in different ways. I'm not saying a God exists, like I said I'm not Christian. And "different" can apply to many things, not just sexual orientation. I'm also not saying that person A was to test the virtues of person B but to perhaps test society as a collective. Basically, my grandfather's message to us kids was to embrace our differences because in the end its not how much money you made or what career you had that matters, its how you treated others and how others remember you. We are all different from each other so embracing those differences (as long as it doesn't physically harm others) is important. Treat each other kindly.
im not religious either but this is actually a good point! that almost seems like the ultimate test tbh. to see how kind and understanding you are to people who are still normal good people who aren't hurting anyone, but are just different in some way. good words from your grandpa!
I like that moral/ethical reasoning
Well I believe God made man perfect. But with the ability to choose. Just because you have an inclination towards doing what is a sin in Gods eyes doesn’t mean you have to do it. I’m fact you shouldn’t we should heed the word of God almighty for the fact that one he loves us and if he is telling us to do something it’s for our sake and two because he is all powerful and he has punishment for the ones who don’t consider his word in the way they choose to live. The fact he makes you a way is true but he didn’t make us evil he says this in genesis “and God said his creation was very good”
Not a bad way to look at it
@@jaypettius8661 When someone can actually show what God, if he exists, actually thinks is a sin, then I'll listen. Since the only source that has been provided is a collection of books that isn't remotely internally consistent, it can easily be ignored.
Besides, if God truly cared about what actions we shouldn't do, he should probably let us know in a way other than that which is mostly believed by those that are fooled the easiest and are the least educated.
You guys should definitely watch the whole conversation. Both sides brought up great points that made you think. Most importantly tho they never raised their voices or got angry at each other, I wish we could see more polite discussions like it

What about people that are attracted to children? As a Christian I don’t think being gay is a sin. However, saying that if something is fundamental to your attraction should be ok just doesn’t hold up as a standard
Everyone is different and everyone gets a different test specifically designed for him , that’s how great this phase of our existence is , and how fair Gos is

The fundamental flaw in rogan's argument is the assumption that what God allows, is willed with the intent that people should pursue it. And that's where it falls apart. I think that in this argument, what is not considered is the possibility that God also allows evil, so then by default he wills it, but does he encourage it then?

@@John777-3the question isn’t meant to pose the origin of sin. The question is a little more subtle, but also a little darker. The question Joe is asking is posing the idea of god not existing at all. Why would “God” do anything outside his bounds of rules, if they weren’t meant to be broken in the first place. Of course every single religion in the world has an answer to this, but it is in essence Joe’s question.
It’s really just the temptation for any sin. Weather we act on those thoughts or not determine who we are
Joe! You got me ? Holly balls
I don’t believe this but this would be my answer. “Any sin cast upon an individual is a test of will and faith towards the path and whether you are deserving of a place in paradise”.
The answer I was given by a pastor was
"I believe that God gives us all challenges that we must overcome. Each of us must earn our place in his hallowed halls, as each of us must suffer through existence to prove ourselves worthy of eternal bliss."
I countered with
"But he already knows all things that have and will ever happen, so why even bother at that point?"
He responded with
"It's not my place to speak for him. I don't know exactly why the world works as it does, all I can do is have faith in him and live my life righteously and faithfully."
One of the coolest dudes I ever met, btw. Always supportive of other people's choices and aspirations whether they were correct according to his religion or not. He was one of the few people I would consider a true Christian, instead of the vindictive asshats that are more prevalent.
I believe we’re not meant to understand every little thing but I also think even though he knows we don’t, we need to experience it ourselves in order to understand why we are in hell or heaven.
I’m sorry that your idea of a true Christian is someone accepting people no matter what but that’s not it. A true Christian will let someone know when their sin is going to lead them to hell. And if a Christian is supporting gay people or whatever then they aren’t doing the right thing god wants us to spread his truth not accept the deceit from satan
And being a Christian is not meant to be an easy task people are going to say we are “hate crime” or whatever and I guarantee I will be blasted on here for what I have said
@@loganvittitoe3341 Love thy neighbor, friend. I never said he didn't let people know he disagreed with their choices. I only said he was supportive of each person's decisions. He believed it was up to each individual to make their own mistakes and learn/better themselves.
@Logan Vittitoe It's not up to the Christian people to judge anybody. Judgement is the lord's domain. All we can do is do our best to educate. Accept people for what and who they are so long as they aren't hurting anyone, and leave all the rest for the creator.
It's because of trauma in early childhood. God doesn't make anyone gay. This is a fallen world and bad things happen due to the law of free will. Its important to do trauma recovery and not brush everything under the rug. Trauma stays in the body until it's released from the nervous system.
That's the most stupidest thing I've heard.
