1963 TVR Grantura: Eye Candy

- Gregorie Desmons has always had a sensitivity to the aesthetic elements of life, and so for him the first impulses to own classic sports cars came from the question of form rather than horsepower. Though many will argue that art following its purest definition shouldn’t be concerned with anything practical like transportation, we all know the truth to be otherwise. For the same reasons that architecture blends with sculpture, the fact that a machine can be so beautiful to look at while simultaneously providing a solution to a problem very much rooted in cold hard physics is more than enough reason to consider certain cars something far more than a means of moving ourselves around. That’s certainly how Gregorie feels about his Mark III TVR Grantura.

incredible how some of you can follow petrolicious and dislike the grandiose nature of this man, this is the exact owner I’d love to meet and chat with for hours... a true petrolhead
same for me!
Incredible how you can like Petrolicious at all.......LOL.
As a TVR owner I can we are a bit on the eccentric side but I think you have to be own a car like the TVR I friends with Ferrari's and Lamborghini's and it the my Vixen that garners the attention when we go to meet ups it just neat unique and cool car.
I concur.
Everything in petrolicious videos are eye candy. Testament to the Quilty of content with the cinematography and editing!
Let's not forget the audio quality either. I love hearing these classics. It would be nice if they made longer sections of just the owner driving so we could hear the car more.
Agreed !
Great car.
Great owner.
Great video.
Thank you, Petrolicious.
Probably the only person who can rock a leopard-shirt!
agree! :)
The lines in these classic cars are marvelous.
The way the video was shot and music was spot on! Btw this owner has some real artistic skill, love the painting of his car🇺🇸👍😎
I'm not an art lover but his paintings really stuck out to me as beautifully well done. The whole video was fantastic as well.
Have to disagree on the music. Not quite sure why they used American rock when it's a British car. Lots of great British rock from the '60s. Something like 'The Kinks - All Day and All Of The Night' would have been perfect.
Beautiful! His art is captivating as all hell too...
A man with character...matched purfectly with this car dripping with character.
Although his rain coat almost didn't fit in the car with him.
I loved his art and photographs matched his life style...."Perfect Petrolicious".....RIPE!
that thing sounds insane and looks absolutely gorgeous
Fantastic - Une Homme avec bon taste, elegant style and I agree with Monsieur that these Granturas have soul. A lovely Petrolicious film as ever. Vive La France !
Wonderful ! brings back a lot of memories. In the mid 1960's my friends older brother had one of these- with a Coventry Climax engine as I recall. It was stored for a while in my Mother's garage and one short trip in it helped ignite the spark and make me a lifelong petrol head.
I can really appreciate this particular video. As a teenager (with a teenager's budget) growing up in the midwestern United States I was attracted to a Triumph Spitfire as my very first car for many of the same reasons. (In Illinois it certainly wasn't considered a practical year-round car by any means.) It looks like Gregorie indeed found his perfect car. That TVR has some stunningly beautiful lines along with more than enough soul to back up that beauty.
This man and this car... They go so hand-in-hand, that one wouldn't be without the other.
The TVR is a beauty and a BEAST in one!! Thanks Petrolicious, you do it again!!
My friend and I recently rediscovered the 2500/vixen/tuscan and have been utterly in love with the styling and proportions. A forgotten gem of indescribable beauty.
In the pantheon of great British sports cars, IMHO all TVR's (as a marque) and the Griffith/Grantura (as a model) are highly underrated! What a fantastic car and as with most Petrolicious videos, it's obvious the owner Gregorie truly loves his car. Also, like many enthusiasts I can't wait until the new TVR (finally) comes out! Gregorie, thanks for sharing your awesome piece of British motoring history! Cheers mate!
Stunning! Thank you for sharing your beautiful TVR
Merci à Petrolicious ! Beau reportage.
In 1964, my cousin returned from Oxford to Canada with this car 1963 TVR, I never forgot that car and it started me on my way to driving and loving sports cars ever since. I think I aways saw that car as some sort of mythical object. My cousin raced that car and drove the hell out of it in Toronto for years.
magnifique !
What a cool video ! And a cool man !
I've been seeing photos online of this Grantura for years now, so i'm really happy to learn more about it.
Wow a car I never knew existed before now. TVR has some crazy body engine combinations. Great video as always thanks.
I really loved this video! After so many 911s on Petrolicious we get something really interesting and unusual here, both the car and the owner. M. Desmons is a Total Car Enthusiast and it was nice to hear him talk about what the car means to him. In addition, he is a talented artist and can capture the spirit of a vintage car in his painting. Kudos to the Petrolicious team for another memorable video.
What I do really appreciate is that this guy is totally committed to the passion, the art, and lifestyle that this car represents
Love the cinematic look, the colors, great stuff!
Amazing Camerawork makes cars more pleasant .
Car owners on Petrolicious all have character, but none bigger than this guy!
Absolutely wonderful. I want that Grantura painting.
Extremely cool car and driver as well! Perfect match!
The usual excellent Petrolicious offering. I've always yearned for a Grantura, but was never aware of the HRG-modified 'B' series version.
Love the shape and size of this car. And it fits perfect to the owner style :) Imagine the under 1000kg car with the v8 engine that was mentioned by Gregorie: Beast & Cobra killer!!
The spice of life! Thank you!
awesome cinematography!!!
Love the car and the paintings are beautiful as well
Beautiful car, charming owner, excellent video like always. The owner makes me think about Tintin by Hergé.
This guy is the complete French package. Love this.
Belgian in fact ;)
@@regisbigot2037 - I stand corrected. Thank you.
@@CantThinkofaCoolOne No matter ;)
Congratulations in driving a dream and an icon with what your lifestyle is about of beauty and art and the freedom driving this spectacular rare machine that you carefully tastefully as an art..
Many thanks for sharing with us all this amazing video Absolutely gorgeous isn't it! x-x
Absolutely beautiful car.
First time I recognize places I've been in a Petrolicious film. Fun !
"Every trip is an adventure in a TVR". Yes indeed. I had a TVR S2 and while it never left me stranded, every trip was an adventure in finding and curing new rain leaks, dodgy earths and new rattles. I think the owner of every TVR is the R&D department with the number of improvements I had to make. Went like a rocket but not a go to work motor.
john marsh ha ha I hear you but off to work in a minute in my TVR. Can’t beat the make you feel alive driving in one
The profile of that car and its lines in general are freakin gorgeous
Wow. His love for these cars makes me feel better about my own
beautiful...
Chapeau.
La plus belle des TVR! Magnifique!
Damn, those paintings are incredible too
Is that Anto Ego from ratatouille?
I thought the exact same thing and was about to comment haha. Funny look alike not considering that he seems like a nice guy with an admirable passion for beautiful cars.
YESSS!! A TVR, finally :O)
Beautiful little beast.
A true car guy and a cool dude both are stylish icons still have a quiff I'm afraid that left me a lot of years ago 😞😞 great pairing clio just wouldn't do it, so thank you so much for the video 😀😀❤️
I'm glad to see someone else enjoys the aesthetic aspect of cars so much that he wants to paint them.
What a Beautiful forgotten CLASSIC !
Pardon my French but that car positively kicks ass.
Belgium representing 💪
Another Petrolicious masterpiece
Whoa, this guy is totally fruitloops, and I love his over the top style contrasted to what seems to be a serene demeanor. And what a cool little coupe. I love whatever the exhaust "engineers" did at Trevor's coachworks. I've never heard a TVR I didn't like.
OMG this is beautiful
Dark gray chrome colour is the
Perfect shine for the cars from 40's and 50's era
That must be a rare car. I grew up drooling over the European cars in my fathers old Road & Track magazines. I don't remember seeing one like this.
Eye candy indeed. What a beauty
Nice car, nice movie, nice sounds, nice music.
Bravo... Petrolicious. Bravo
Very immaculate car. Beautiful, simply beautiful
Thank you, great video, as usually! Top car, top owner, aligned with the aesthetic and spirit of his car, that is not always true!
Beautiful.
I love the sound of that TVR, mmm mmm mmmmmm
That's a _great_ spec!
One of the coolest videos and cars😀

He does some cool paintings as well.
Genial petrolicious 👏🏽
Fabulous!
Wow ! Simply wow !
If there were only a translation button... The cinematography is as usual, outstanding. Accompanying music just perfection. Subject matter, well, it's a car. What more can I say. Did I mention the absence of a translation button?
There are text captions for this video and they are in english (at least for me)
@@jensenhealey907efi brilliant news.....How does one activate those helpful little devils ?
Interesting person, interesting car, thanks Petro!
