Just another reason to love this camera... it looks great as a webcam.
Probably more of a keylight to make it sharp, but even in this low light condition that I was using it was surprisingly great!

I discovered that you can use your dji mic 2 while using your pocket 3 as a webcam... basically you just pair your mic to your computer via bluetooth and then it will show up as a source!
Hi may i ask is it just plug and then can use as webcam? Or do i need to buy the creators combo for me to use as webcam?
Does the audio have noticeable lag with the mic connected through Bluetooth like this?
@@Magicprinze Might have already found your answer, but just in case, the Creator Combo is just the accessories and the DJI Mic 2, so the actual Pocket 3 would work as a webcam regardless of which one you buy. :)

Hey Danny, thank you for all your videos on the Pocket 3. What about overheating? How warm/hot does your unit get after an hour of live-streaming?
I'm annoyed at myself for missing the Livestream! I appreciate all of the in-depth coverage, and I look forward to eventually seeing what it looks like as a webcam when it's broadcasting live again sometime.

Hi Danny, do you know how to get the Pocket 3 to work in 1080p 60fps when in webcam mode? Mine always goes down to 30fps only when webcamming.

Great video, thanks very much! However, I don't understand why some of the menu settings are greyed out and not selectable. For example, OTG mode is grayed out and when I plug the OP3 into my PC with a USB-C cable to turn it into a webcam, nothing happens. The PC doesn't recognize it and nothing appears on the OP3, whether or not I turn it on with the cable (tried with the original cable and another one) and whether I'm on Zoom, Camtasia, Loom or Nvidia broadcast, it doesn't work... I also see that the compression mode is set to HEVC and H.264 is also grayed out... Do you have any idea of the source of the problem?

I absolutely love my pocket 3. I have been having a blast with it and can't wait to use it on my upcoming vacation. Now I can use it as a webcam instead of that garbage one on my laptop.

Let me see if I have this correct. I can use my iphone to sign into zoom and connect via the USB to the iphone 15 and possibly use the iphone mic or an external one via a hub.

absolutely. ABSOLUTELY. I am a freelance video man and it's the coolest thing I've ever owned. it's amazingly damn good. Timelapses, motion timelapses, 4k, super slow motion, auto tracking, genuine depth of field - it's amazing and grades nicely.

Would be a great multi--use camera, but I feel the lack of audio in webcam mode is a major oversight. Can't think of a reason why they would leave that out.
So in webcam mode its locked at 1080/30?
Surely they need to update it to allow audio feed?

Web cam works great using powered USB Hub on older computer. I also works great on my Dell Lattitude. BUT my 2019 MBP (last Intel model) has all kind of issues. I has 4 TB ports, but they must all be under powered, because the OSMO completely kills the battery, even when the laptop is powered.
Anyone have experience with a 2019 or older MBP?

Is it possible to have DJI Pocket 3 plugged into a computer permanently, ready to use as a webcam? Will it always stay charged? Do I need to perform anything e.g. after rebooting my computer, in order to use the webcam?

If you have osmo 4 action you can hook up the DJI mic 🎤 to the action record the audio into that action but that defeats the purpose of using osmo pocket or may be use the osmo gimbal with your iPhone wow I think I just confused myself now lol , Danny Black you are the goto channel for the past few weeks for reviews . Im glad I found your channel.. It got me interested doing a channel myself especially I just spend 8000.00 on DJI web site I literally bought everything on the site Avata, air3, mini 3 then mini 4 , action osmo, pocket osmo gimbal for my iPhone every accessories to all those lol I really went crazy I don’t know what I was thinking 💭 lol

I seem to be able to get audio from the pocket 3 in webcam mode on my macbook in Zoom using a "Capture Inactive" Mic input option.

Danny, the DJI Wireless V2 mic does work, but it has to be connected directly to the Mac via Bluetooth. I used it earlier today with Screenflow

it bypasses the battery. so it will charge the battery but smart charging, keeping the battery from overcharge

I used mine for a client meeting on the day I got it, and it will be my primary meeting cam from now on. Plugin and done.

@@dezanto not that I can tell. Plugging it in gives a webcam prompt. Worth looking into though.
For me, the battery runs down faster than it can charge. And I'm using a powered USB hub with a high-power wall adapter.
It also freezes sometimes and you have to leave the meeting and come back. Not reliable at all as a webcam.

You miss low low light as a web cam and horizontal-vertical mode ...
You still get a 1" sensor which is 5x-8x the average webcam and still larger than most action cameras, so it's still going to perform phenomenally in low light.
The "low light" mode is essentially just a bunch of really quick digital post-processing to boost ISO levels and reduce noise, and obviously you can't do any post processing on something that is broadcast live, regardless of how quick it is.
Why can't we use the microphone at the same time 😞

Dji pocket 3 is very good camera, but the reason why I chose GoPro hero 12 because it have crazy field of view. But dji pocket is very good at light. That's very big plus for me
dji pocket 3 is out of production.
The Pocket 3 is total crap for use as a webcam because it's NOT wireless and NOT even controllable from the app in webcam mode! Who cares if the bokeh is better than a normal webcam? It's basically 720p in UVC mode anyway. Why not 4K? Even the cheapest HDMI capture cards nowadays capture in 4K! DSLRs can output clean HDMI in 4K, and they are no more difficult to control than the Osmo in webcam mode. The OBSBOT Tail Air can be a fully remote-controllable wifi webcam in full HD (granted, no audio without the NDI license, but still...). You therefore totally lose the quality and convenience of this camera in webcam mode. With all the great features of the Pocket 3 completely disabled in webcam mode, how is it better than using even a phone as a webcam?
I use the Insta360 Link when at home, and the Osmo pocket 3 when on the go and it works great. Recent update has enabled 4K for webcam mode.
