- Rick has sung two songs with the same title, "I Need You". First in 1962 (Single 45/November 1962, and Imperial album "It's Up To You"/May 1963), written by Baker Knight. Then, in 1965, Rick recorded the second song "I Need You" on June 22, 1965, but this one was not released. Fortunately, nowadays, it can be found on the "Rick's Rarities 1964-1974" (ACE CD). But the author's name is not given and, despite all my research, I haven't been able to find it. Some say Baker Knight, but this is a confusion with the 1962 song. Nevertheless, thanks to the author of this song, which is, in the words of the booklet, "an absolute delight", with Rick's magnificent voice. On December 31, 1985, the whole world lost an unforgettable and irreplaceable voice, and we all cry with his family !
The first 'I Need You' was always a favorite but the second is also lovely and Rick sounds so great with orchestral arrangement behind him! I also love the pictures...such a great time to think about...thank you!😊
