On another video I seen they were installing a Perrin blow off value and they didn’t block off the hose they used the elbow from the OEM and connected to the blow off value . I guess that recirculated the air back into the system.
For anyone reading this in the future, I bought both the 10psi (unpainted) and 11psi (yellow) springs to test. The 11 psi spring I don’t think allowed the valve to open on my 2019, must not have enough vacuum pressure. The 10 psi allowed the valve to open fully under full boost and had the flutter noise at lower levels. I’ve since gone to the hks ssqv valve with the recirculating kit and it works really good too.
Yo bro I was so happy today I can’t believe I saw you on the highway I was so happy but there was so much traffic today lol (saw you on august 20 2021 which was my birthday
Still wouldnt fix the fact that thebcar would still be trying to find that lost air in the system...to run these properly you have to change to speed density
Thanks for responding I just know in the past I had an older WRX it was a 2003 stage two and I put a blow off valve on it and it ran fine for a while until I sold it it may be different with that car because it was so much older but I don’t think the blow off valve piston should be opening and closing just from idling like that that’s why I thought maybe a bigger spring would help
@@MackMotivates it would fix it because there would be no lost air if it was proper, you’re not in boost when idling, going speed density wouldn’t matter as well for idling and not in boost.
@@panderalexander it may work for idling but still doesnt prove a point. We all are gonna drive which means at some point it will open and that lost air will be lost and need to be counted for. It's not that they suck. It's that Subaru's have to be speed density tuned for any blow off valve; Because of its system you can't just put a blow off valve on it as i've shown you here.
U can! I will say if your trying to run a bov and not a bpv. That will be your problem. To run a bov on these cars you need to have it tuned for speed density.
@@Jbugchirpster unless your protune was tuned with that bov and for speed density, I wouldnt recommending installing that until u can do it properly. These engines are toooooo sensitive

You need a twin piston dump valve it stops the hunting or change the spring inside it for a stronger 1. It sounded great though

Can you drop a link to direct to this video?
Short answer, yes.
Long answer, no.
Do you know what size spring you had on the bov? I’m going Tial QR and will be using the 10psi spring and wondering if that’s what you used?

Spring is to weak is opening on idle you can see it nothing to do with a speed density map
Still would need a speed density tune to run regardless though, that lost air out to atmosphere still needs to be accounted for in the system.
