In the low-gravity sniper section at the end of the first level, the first enemy you shoot is seemingly scripted to throw his gun all the way across the map straight towards you. 5. When you first pick up a Forerunner gun on your first playthrough, you get a cool moment showing it off as it materialises - which you never get shown again on subsequent playthroughs of that level. You have to delete your saved data or start a new local gamertag if you want to see it again!
#3. The genuine worst sin this game commits. That insanely fast despawn timer isn't just in campaign, it's in multiplayer too. If you die, you will NEVER get to your body before your weapons despawn. It affects EVERYTHING that isn't a static object in the game. I couldn't even build a debris ramp because dead vehicle parts often despawn before they even hit the ground. The cleanup run by this game is ABSURD, and it carries over into H2A MP a bit, since they both use the same engine.

People always say that but never explain how. Prior to the forerunner trilogy and halo 4, we didn't know anything exactly apart from vague stuff that 343 guilty spark said
@JJJBunney001 also I hate how people are treating 343 quilty spark saying you are forunner as fact when this is a centuries old ai and we are supposed to just trust him and what he says
tbh my biggest issue with halo 4 is that it exists. I don't mean that in a "its so awful its a sin to exist" kind of way, but just... The story was over. Halo 3 was a good ending, and Reach was a good sendoff for the series. halo 3 putting chief in the cryo tube wasn't a sequel bait, it was a "book ends". It doesn't help that I really dislike the retcons that halo 4's story is built around (forerunners no longer being ancestors to humans, rampancy being AI dementia, and don't even get me started on giving a backstory to the Flood)
IMO the books kinda ruin the perfect ending for Halo 3. The books say that Smart AI like Cortana start going rampant after 7 years, which is never mentioned in the games. So if the two of them stay floating out in space in the Forward Unto Dawn for too long then she's going to die. This means they almost HAVE to have a sequel explaining what happens to them. I feel like they should've said somewhere that Cortana was so advanced that she's immune to rampancy or something, that way they could stay out there practically forever.
@@alaskamark4562 "rampancy" didn't even mean the same thing back then. It used to simply refer to the process of an AI becoming truly self aware, as a hold over from Marathon. Cortana was probably meant to already have gone through that stage. The only other time we see Rampancy was Mendicant Bias, but since that coincided with him going insane and betraying the forerunners to the flood, Frank O Connor kinda mistook it for just "AI go crazy!!!1" because he seemed to have paid very little attention to the story that was actually in the games, judging by 343's retconned lore making no sense when the whole reason the prophets ordered the eradication of humans was to cover up that they were the descendants of the forerunners. Or gravemind referring to the forerunners as our "father." Or the part where Guilty Spark literally says "You ARE forerunner" as if it couldn't have gotten ANY MORE OBVIOUS what the writer's intent was. This was explicitly the intent, that humans are the direct descendents of the forerunners - former bungie developers said so when the Precursor trilogy came out, being confused at how something so obvious was ignored.
@@rustyshovel7179 if you friendly-fire marines in the Pillar of Autumn's bridge in Halo 1, then Cortana describes Chief (who is named "cyborg" in the game files) as "rampant" iirc they had the idea of "rampancy" being AI insanity back in the original games
@@rustyshovel7179 Rampancy in Marathon vs rampancy in Bungie's Halo were similar but not an exact one-to-one. Halsey's journal clearly says that Smart AI start to die once they experience rampancy; it isn't exactly them becoming self-aware, Smart AI pretty much already ARE self-aware from their conception. As much as I dislike the retcons that O'Conner made to Halo's lore, he probably gets a LITTLE too much exclusive flak for the current state of the lore. These kinds of things are usually done by multiple people in the company who often have conflicting ideas as to where to take their series, basically everyone in 343I who had a hand in Halo's story probably contributed to ruining it; not that that completely absolves O'Conner, he started it. Even O'Connor's earlier retcons were better than what the Forerunner trilogy crapped out. IRIS, Halo 3's Terminals, Halo Evolutions and Halo Legends all still showed the Forerunners as being noble protectors who were trying to save the galaxy from the Flood, they even implied that they were still related to Humanity somehow. The Greg Bear novels changed it so that the Forerunners were arrogant space-elves who wanted to lord over everyone else and who also basically screwed the galaxy over AND were unrelated to Mankind and even fought a war with us. 343I's current Halo lore is such a convoluted trainwreck.

I really enjoy these videos. Funny, entertaining, quick while still being informative. I've been finally catching up on the past 10 years or so of games so I need to check out your Dead Space videos and I don't think you have a Destiny video but I'll double check. I'm still such a fan of Halo 4. If I could make two changes I'd add an extra level since the game feels a touch short compared to the others (maybe instead of a scene where Chief takes over the covenant ship before crashing on the station outside the ring, maybe you actually have to play and wipe everyone out) and I completely agree the Pelican is a bit wasted. I just wish they had a few more ships flying around so you'd have to actually fight as you move instead of drift over to one landing and shoot a few ships that don't fight back very hard because outside of that I think this is a pretty fun level. I also like how you reinforced the continually recurring theme since 343 seemed to have forgotten it when they made Halo 5. I think the point in writing is to enhance and expand themes you've already established, not destroy them. It feels similar to me with Terminator 2 and 3. Terminator 2 was great and we loved it and it established the theme there is no fate and then Terminator 3 came and said hahahaha fool, you can't avoid your fate. All you did was delay it. Terrible!!!
Yeah, but Terminator 1 had a theme of unavoidable fate and that the attempt to prevent the Judgement day just led to creation of Skynet. And than the second movie made a 180° with "no fate" theme and THAN the third one went back to unavoidable Judgement day...
@@inkursion5868 did it? I don't know if I'd say that was the theme or the purpose. That would have been way more fun and had much longer of a lifespan than any of the games they've put out.
but they did tho? 343 has released mod tools for MCC and has mod support. Making custom campaign levels is as easy as just downloading the mod tools for the game, launching Sapient or whatever and fucking around in it for a hour. Adding custom models and maps is a bit trickier but can be managed.

Recently made my freind play a 'hate through' of this game on Legendary. It was simultaneously the worst and best gamming experience of 2023 for me. Utterly shite game.
Halo 4 is the only Halo game I absolutely could not force myself to care about completing on Legendary. Even with the tanky-ass elites of Reach I finished it because it was such a blast to play through. Halo 4, on the other hand, was just awful go dredge myself through. I should note that I haven't done Halo 2 on Legendary yet... but at least I care enough to try lol
I think I hated Reach's legendary more than 2s. With 2 the biggest issue are the sniper jackals. Whilst in Reach most of the sandbox is unusable due to the last-second nerfs, and also the insane enemy health.
Bro I guess Ive been watching a bunch of your older videos before this one, but your video editing is getting badass bro! Keep it up! I kept finding myself going and liking this video from a joke or moment lol, would've had a bunch of likes from me😂 Badass videos bro!
Honestly I think if there was a transition instead of everything suddenly looking different into the new art style it may have been much better received
I've been saying this. Could have been both them respecting where they came from and yet show that this is where we are going. Would have been way smoother. With their unlimited budget, they should have made the three eras.
Like I've been saying plenty of times now. It'll be much better received if the Halo community was actually mature. Other franchises has redesigns that go well as long as they look cool, Gundam especially has old suits suddenly looking very different from the last just so they look cooler. With Halo on the other hand, change the design of that one shoulder and the fans fucking lose it, 343 had it rough with how crybaby the fanbase is.
@@thefreeden It was a lot more than one freaking shoulder, virtually everything was changed in Halo 4. In addition to Chief's armor getting magically "nano-machined" between games, the Covenant species were all turned into scaley lizard-people for some reason, Forerunner tech looked like something out of Tron, and the Marines had weird white & orange armor just to name a few. Granted it doesn't ALL look bad, but it's jarring to suddenly have almost everything's aesthetics changed in one game.
"I've got to do something you're not going to like" *Proceeds to replicate herself so instead of a single hot blue lady Waifu I get a whole Harem* Why did she think I wasn't going to like it?
I have fond memories of having the flu or something and being out of school for a few days and beating Legendary for the first time, Slightly less fond memories of getting par time on all levels more recently but kinda fun. All spartan opps solo legendary? Not fond at all and I did not finish it 3rd or 4th favorite halo but that's just because of my age
I know that this is considered the worst halo, but this is the only one I had ever really played and that was back in the Xbox 360 days, I played the campaign with my dad over and over again and those were some of my best gaming memories so I can never hate this game. :)
I honestly don't hate Chief's Halo 4/5 armor; it's one of the better designs from that art style. I do however wish it was implemented in a way that makes sense story-wise. What we got in-game was "I rewrote your suit's firmware while you were out," which doesn't explain jack squat. Change the Spartans in the opening cutscene to be in Mark IV, V and VI, leave Chief in Mark VI until after Infinity, add some bs excuse like "your armor's outdated; go get new stuff," in a new cutscene and boom, no problems.
My headcanon is that since Bungie was working on Destiny before Microsoft bought the Halo franchise, the Promethians and related content were originally going to be enemies in the first Destiny game.

love to see some A Perfect Circle appreciation, not the place I thought I'd come to see it
Bad jokes never fail to make me laugh
Recently made my freind play a 'hate through' of this game on Legendary. It was simultaneously the worst and best gamming experience of 2023 for me. Utterly shite game.
To me, Halo 4 wasn't that bad on legendary until the Prometheans show up. They are by far my least favorite enemies to fight in the entire series.
This video was so unhinged. I love it lmao
5:34 ohhh we finally know where the Halo show got its inspiration from
I loved the beginning comment of the suit.
halo 4 my beloved
this video is amazing, just some good ol’ halo playthrough content
Halo 4 is the only Halo game I absolutely could not force myself to care about completing on Legendary. Even with the tanky-ass elites of Reach I finished it because it was such a blast to play through. Halo 4, on the other hand, was just awful go dredge myself through.
I should note that I haven't done Halo 2 on Legendary yet... but at least I care enough to try lol
I did because I wanted to mark six
P A I N
Halo 2 is far worse. I'll take a tanks knight over a Jackal sniper any day.
I think I hated Reach's legendary more than 2s. With 2 the biggest issue are the sniper jackals. Whilst in Reach most of the sandbox is unusable due to the last-second nerfs, and also the insane enemy health.
Honestly, Halo 4’s Legendary is probably one of the easiest out of all of the Halo games
Damn, never thought I see an ISIS (the band) reference in a Halo video....unless it was a In Fiction
Frog Halo videos are gold
I particularly liked the old yeller joke, Mr. Frog
Bro I guess Ive been watching a bunch of your older videos before this one, but your video editing is getting badass bro! Keep it up!
I kept finding myself going and liking this video from a joke or moment lol, would've had a bunch of likes from me😂
Badass videos bro!
the perfect circle reference had me in stitches
Cool video frog! They always make me laugh
Hi Frog! This was a great video to watch at 2:19 pm on January 13th, 2024!! I liked all your funny jokes!!
Great video as usual but the comedy on this one was on point 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
1:50 damn it, now i have to go and listen to mer de noms again
Chief we need to hit the griddy.
@@thefreedenit is awful though. I can’t play this game at all I just think it’s so jarring going from beautiful halo 3 to this!
Also gameplay wise it’s also bad!
BRILLIANT!
LMAO!
"I've got to do something you're not going to like"
*Proceeds to replicate herself so instead of a single hot blue lady Waifu I get a whole Harem*
Why did she think I wasn't going to like it?
😂 My thoughts exactly. Would love a harem!
Time to do all of spartan ops legendary
Glad to see a fellow A perfect circle enjoyer!
I had no idea that the Halo 4 pelican had a laser
7:29 they really looked at halo 2 and went “yeah you wanna know why people liked this game? Gondolas”
3:52 Fun fact Mr.Frog Man. You can kill masterchief during the cutscene and the Didact will be talking to a floating AR the rest of the cutscene
Just did 4 legendary and it was pretty miserable lol
Not as bad as Spartan Ops solo legendary.
@@Horgler That truly was a brain-melting experience. Forced myself through it for the achievement, it was not worth it at all
@@GSixFiveFourThreeFourDashTwo Yikes...good thing I did not attempt it for the achievements, although I was tempted to.
Yeah, though I’d take it over H3 on legendary any day honestly; because, those brute shot and fuel rod brutes were the bane of my existence!
I remember only doing the legendary play through so I could get the Mark VI in multiplayer and I’ve never played that difficulty again.
The terrorism joke was funny
I have fond memories of having the flu or something and being out of school for a few days and beating Legendary for the first time,
Slightly less fond memories of getting par time on all levels more recently but kinda fun.
All spartan opps solo legendary? Not fond at all and I did not finish it
3rd or 4th favorite halo but that's just because of my age
Epic music taste and very funny, frog
6:10 I’m pretty sure that the ship just moved you into the grenade, not that it curved towards you.
after playing the infinite campaign halo 4 looks way more fun than it used to
I know that this is considered the worst halo, but this is the only one I had ever really played and that was back in the Xbox 360 days, I played the campaign with my dad over and over again and those were some of my best gaming memories so I can never hate this game.
Good to know I’m not the only one that gets fricken farmed on Legendary!
lmfao alright the isis bit got me
i always got the warthog in mission two above the ledge and drove it as far as i could
halo 4 always felt like a fever dream to me
My headcanon is that since Bungie was working on Destiny before Microsoft bought the Halo franchise, the Promethians and related content were originally going to be enemies in the first Destiny game.
BASED A PERFECT CIRCLE REFERENCE
Haven’t seen A Perfect Circle reference in a long time. 🍻
First halo game I played in 2013
