That always confused the hell out of me, that they would a monster of . . . . company?, to someone that doesn't even like racing or the traditions that NASCAR was built on, ie. dropping the Southern 500 over Labor and moving it the California (I think it was Cali. Could have been Texas or Phoenix) because Darlington didn't have enough "Hotel Accommodations" (His excuse). Guess he never went to that race before. LMAO
I believe Jr should merge JR Motorsports into a DEI Cup Series team after Teresa passes away, that’s the only way he’ll be able to use his own family legacy again.
DEI was sold to chip gnassi. And then disbanded. I believe he bought it for the entry numbers and whatever rights and equipment. After Teresa ignorantly ran it into the ground, she tried to get any penny she could. It would be a Cinderella story or whatever you wanna call it for gnassi racing would sell all the DEI contents and entry numbers to JR.
@DannyBTalks- JD STACEY team 80's crooked team owner Danny B even Dale SR was pissed when Rod Osterlund sold the team to him and Earnhardt SR left after heated confrontation plus there is a lotta dram and crime involved in that one as he had owned or had affiliations with 10 cars in the 80's. Harry Hyde said he ruined him and was a crooked SOB. Look up all the dirt on that Nascar team owner
Great show DannyB! Not only was Dale Sr's passing devastating to everyone that you mentioned, it was devastating to NASCAR as well. I'll go as far as to say that they still haven't recovered. It's just no longer the same great product.
The all whole thing was a very sad state of affairs. The loose of Dale Sr hit me very hard. Then to see DEI start to decline and slowly fall apart. Dale Jr leaves Waltrip leaves etc. Who knows how bad it was behind the scenes. Seems like Teresa was greedy and had a bad relationship with Jr. All that hard work and potential gone. I wonder if Teresa ever looks at what Jr and Kelly did with Jr Motorsports and thinks maybe I should have let them run the team.
I know there are three people in that picture that look like they want to be anywhere but on that stage. I think it's funny that Kerry, Jr and Kelly all look like they are actively trying not to look at Teresa.
Great video DannyBTalks!! This is the first time I’ve ever watched you and I’ve already subscribed. I have a suggestion. You should do a video on Mayfield Motorsports.

Sounds like your a little jelous if the family.
Absolutely do this. Larry McReynolds tried to back door him with the tide sponsorship. Then Cal Wells took it and his teams sucked. If only Ricky has stayed at Hendrick with Waddell Wilson. That could have been multiple championships.
It wouldn't be a true NASCAR tale without bad blood between family. Even though Dale Jr never scaled the heights that people predicted for him, he was a winner and did achieve a level of success at the Cup level. Most importantly, he got out alive.
I think Dales Death was Tragic the whole thing was tragic but Im happy that Dale Jr. created Jr Motorsports and still carries on his fathers name and legacy as he mentors up and coming drivers in Xfinity Series. Next story should be on the rise and fall of Darrell Waltrip Racing
I think Dale just passed too soon. He seemed to have a plan that included an 8th championship followed by retirement to being an owner. He had Jr. and Waltrip, and Richard had a young Kevin Harvick waiting in the RCR wings. My guess is he would have pushed those racers to wins while educating Jr. on how to run the business. Then he would have loaded Teresa on that beautiful yacht he had built and retired between the farm and the Bahamas. He was moving people around to make that happened but died a couple years short of actually putting it in action. Teresa never asked to be an owner and had no experience running the whole shebang or managing driver careers. Just a real shame.
KHI didn't necessarily "fall" Kevin wanted to focus more on his cup career, and winning a Championship. KHI took a lot of his time. the xfinity side of the team, went to RCI, and Kevin is still involved, Kinda like Geoff Gordon is, with the 48 team of Jimmy Johnson.
KHI actually dissolved when they were successful, that's one thing the Harvick's can be very proud of. They saw the future and made a smart business Decision IMHO
I miss DEI. I miss Michael Waltrip in the 15 and Dale Jr. in the 8. Well, really, I miss everything about NASCAR in 2002-2003, because those were my first two seasons as a NASCAR fan.
Thanks for doing this video. Aside from the Toyota Truck plug, I found it to be very entertaining and educational. I knewsome of this but did not know the whole story. I like the fact that you mentioned what happened with Michael WaltripSteve Park and some other DEI drivers but am disappointed that you failed to talk abouta lot of the problems plauging Dale Earnhardt Junior as listed in his book. He actually had a lot more going on besidesa battlewith his step mom.
Funny how when you add up the three DEI car numbers (1, 8, 15), you get the sum of 24 (Jeff Gordon's number), one of The Intimidator's biggest rivals...
You should do the rise and fall of Petty Enterprises because it actually was a separate team from Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) just to clarify. RPM was the result of Petty Enterprises and Evernham Motorsports coming together.
I read allot of comments and as much as i truly was sad when Dale passed away it makes me realize all is not as it seams to be. In his movie when he sees Kerry it dawned on me why he was never there as a father to this boy. Then i see he never made real efforts to be there as a father for him. Now what kind of man turns his back on his own son. That i have a bit of a problem with. Then doing a sport that is known to be dangerous even life ending why would his affairs not be in order. You are running a multi million dollar business and nothing is in concrete. Everything should have been in the finest detail so if something happened to no matter who it was taken care of. Some people are saying he must be rolling in his grave but he must be doing that for one reason. Why was his affairs not in order. Maybe they were maybe not we would never know this but good papers make for good outcomes. As to what i can read and see it was not in this case. At the end of the day Ralph Dale and after JR made what this legacy was and not anyone else. I am sure the family is still well off no tears for millions here.
DE Sr began rebuilding his relationships with his older children later in his life once he became successful. This is why Jr and Kerry began driving for DEI . There's a video of DEsr and Kerry In victory lane at Pocono after Kerry first arca win in 2000
You should do a video about the day and events that led up to Ricky Stenhouse jr DNQ from talladega in 2014. Kind of a wild and interesting thing but no videos on it that I can find
Yeah, I remember that, and the sad thing about all that, is she doesn't have a say about the number 3, because RCI owns the number, not her. She also raised a lot of stink, when Richard put Austin Dillon in it.
She wouldnt benefit from anything to do with the 3 so she was completely against it. She had an issue with Jr driving it in 2002 at Daytona. She couldnt gain from it financially so she opposed it.
Which is completely disrespectful and wrong. She is selfish and ignorant and probly close to broke now. She ruined DEI because she wanted to gain from it financially. She wouldnt split with any percentage of ownership to Jr. After jr left, it rapidly declined in worth. After DEI couldnt sign anyone worth posting wins or even good finishes, she sold it to gnassi. I wish and I hope that JR buys every car that he can. It only seems right that all those cars in the museum goes to him and only him. It's only sad that he would have to pay Teresa for them. In my opinion she doesnt deserve anymore. She ruined dale sr company he built. I believe she had a influence on jrs career. Yes he went to Hendricks for a better chance to compete. But after any human being going through what he has, losing his father, having his fathers hard built company ripped from him and literally driven into the ground, changed him and his career. If jr was given power and responsibilities of DEI, I believe jr would have retired in the 8 with atleast 1 championship. I also believe you would see Keselowski, truex, possibly chase and maybe even Hamlin driving for DEI. Jr has a taste in finding talent. You see it now with JRM. I hope someday JRM finds it's way into the cup series.
all of the hard work and restless hours that dale put into that team for his son and other talented drivers to race in just for it to be torn apart for money, wow
I would like to see some other teams such as Red Horse Racing or Evernham. But I would like a more in depth on what got them to be so good and then what ultimately killed them. But I did enjoy this video
I too would like to see the rise and fall of Michael Waltrip Racing, including what happened to the shop that used to be a movie theater. Also, why Junior Johnson got out of racing and how Brett Bodine bought the team.

LMAO
Great post! Teresa is an Earnhardt by marriage and Kerry is an Earnhardt by blood.
I believe Jr should merge JR Motorsports into a DEI Cup Series team after Teresa passes away, that’s the only way he’ll be able to use his own family legacy again.
I feel like she will be alive for a long time.
Dale Jr Incorporated DJI
DEI was sold to chip gnassi. And then disbanded. I believe he bought it for the entry numbers and whatever rights and equipment. After Teresa ignorantly ran it into the ground, she tried to get any penny she could. It would be a Cinderella story or whatever you wanna call it for gnassi racing would sell all the DEI contents and entry numbers to JR.
@@kawi4189 -- Chip Ganassi actually knows how to run teams though. Plus, JR is basically the Hendrick Xfinity operation.
@@kawi4189 chip doesn't own the name DEI just the assets which have been sold now since chip has left Nascar
This, lol I was scrolling to see if anyone was going to mention it. But yeah we need a video of JD Stacys rise and fall.
Teresa is the Wicked Witch Of The South.
Samuel McDaniel you are so right.
4 Reasons as to why Nascar sucks today.
Teresa Earnhardt
Brian France
Individual rules packages for every damn track
And the playoffs
j_badach_xvi that’s 4.
David Love I typed 3 by accident and didn’t notice
Don't forget about the stage racing though...
Points racing
Stage racing .
James Benedict What about points racing?
Awesome video! I used to live in Tennessee in Nashville! I hope I can see you there when I visit!!!
Great show DannyB! Not only was Dale Sr's passing devastating to everyone that you mentioned, it was devastating to NASCAR as well. I'll go as far as to say that they still haven't recovered. It's just no longer the same great product.
Rise and fall of Evernham Motorsports
Ray did that to himself 👇
Add to the history was the merger with Ginn Motorsports in 2007 which added the 01 team and 15 team
The rise and fall of Michael Waltrip Racing?
jeff pronounced geoff definitely doing it.
@@DannyBTalks okay, this is epic
The all whole thing was a very sad state of affairs. The loose of Dale Sr hit me very hard. Then to see DEI start to decline and slowly fall apart. Dale Jr leaves Waltrip leaves etc. Who knows how bad it was behind the scenes. Seems like Teresa was greedy and had a bad relationship with Jr. All that hard work and potential gone. I wonder if Teresa ever looks at what Jr and Kelly did with Jr Motorsports and thinks maybe I should have let them run the team.
Rise and fall of Morgan-McClure Motorsports.
Great stuff Danny B! You should do a video on the rise and fall of Robert Yates racing. After 2005 they’re weren’t the same after that.
7:41 is truly truly heartbreaking
Not I'm saying to look at their faces, it's what us as race fans KNOW this picture should be a 180* difference
I know there are three people in that picture that look like they want to be anywhere but on that stage. I think it's funny that Kerry, Jr and Kelly all look like they are actively trying not to look at Teresa.
You also forgot King's Dominion has a ride called "Intimidator 305," a high speed roller coaster named after Earnhardt.
Great video DannyBTalks!! This is the first time I’ve ever watched you and I’ve already subscribed. I have a suggestion. You should do a video on Mayfield Motorsports.
The passing of Dale Sr was the end of everything nascar.
Rocket Man now I know nascar is dead after your comment, if that’s the attitude of the new NASCAR fans then it’s dead.
@Rocket Man What? Details please??
@Rocket Man Sure haven't!
@Rocket Man I did some Googling and everything you said is true. I wanted to call you out but holy shit... thats just horrible. Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me.
Rocket Man hey dipshit, take your ADD medicine, you said he wasn’t a good race car driver, that’s what I responded to, then you go off on how bad of a father he was, I can give two shits about how good of a father he was I was talking about the racecar driver you dumb fuck. Sounds like your a little jelous if the family.
I have a name for the Kannapolis Intimidators rename:
Kannapolis Slide Jobs
gg
Dale was the Intimidator
Dale Jr.is the impersonator!
Start of final lap, 2001 Daytona 500:"Whoah, DEI is going to be BIG." End of 2001 Daytona 500: "What will happen next?"
The rise and fall of Rudd Performance Motorsports
RICKY RUDD!! lol
Rickety Rudd!
Ricky Rudd is underrated
I know Kevin Harvick isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But bless that man for standing up for his fellow man. This world needs more of that.
Did not know you made a DEI video too lol
WOW! What timing.
I just realized that still today, I still support DEI, which is Chip Ganassi racing today
If there's a way possible could you please do one of Kevin Harvick Inc.?
KHI didn't necessarily "fall" Kevin wanted to focus more on his cup career, and winning a Championship. KHI took a lot of his time. the xfinity side of the team, went to RCI, and Kevin is still involved, Kinda like Geoff Gordon is, with the 48 team of Jimmy Johnson.
Kevin's wife ran that show. She grew up around racing. They accomplished what they wanted to and she wanted kids. So they sold it all.
Ron won 2 Titles for him
KHI actually dissolved when they were successful, that's one thing the Harvick's can be very proud of. They saw the future and made a smart business Decision IMHO
He sold it to focus on cup.it was a successful team the whole time
I miss DEI. I miss Michael Waltrip in the 15 and Dale Jr. in the 8. Well, really, I miss everything about NASCAR in 2002-2003, because those were my first two seasons as a NASCAR fan.
Great video dannyB
Dale would be furious, he built DEI for JR
Great info, thanks for posting
I think you and me have the same opinion about this situation.
Good video. Had it recommended to me in my feed on YT. Needless to say, you've earned my sub.
Steven Williamson thank you. I’ve got many more like this one. Feel free to enjoy.
@@DannyBTalks oh I'll be spending the rest of my day off from work today going through your uploads. Thanks for liking my comment 😀
I would love to see a rise and fall video of both Junior Johnson racing and more recently, Furniture Row racing
Furniture Row is not a Rise and fall team, they went out at the top of there game.
The rise= Dale Earnhardt The fall= Teresa Earnhardt
They don't call her The Wicked Witch of the South for no reason.
Danny your the best
And great video 👌
why DEI failed. TERESA EARNHARDT.
Funny how when you add up the three DEI car numbers (1, 8, 15), you get the sum of 24 (Jeff Gordon's number), one of The Intimidator's biggest rivals...
Great video!
JR should fight for the rights to the font style 8 that he had
Everybody knows that Dale Intended DEI as a legacy to his kids !
Everybody but Sr's lawyer.
You should do the rise and fall of Petty Enterprises because it actually was a separate team from Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) just to clarify. RPM was the result of Petty Enterprises and Evernham Motorsports coming together.
Once Jr left it was all over
Great job on the video
I was there yesterday actually. Kind of sad the state the exterior is in
5:18 Kevin Harvick Would Only Get 1 Win In Both Of Those Seasons. But Would Finish Very Negative In Points.
I read allot of comments and as much as i truly was sad when Dale
passed away it makes me realize all is not as it seams to be.
In his movie when he sees Kerry it dawned on me why he was never
there as a father to this boy. Then i see he never made real efforts to be
there as a father for him. Now what kind of man turns his back on his own
son. That i have a bit of a problem with. Then doing a sport that is known
to be dangerous even life ending why would his affairs not be in order.
You are running a multi million dollar business and nothing is in concrete.
Everything should have been in the finest detail so if something happened
to no matter who it was taken care of. Some people are saying he must be
rolling in his grave but he must be doing that for one reason. Why was his
affairs not in order. Maybe they were maybe not we would never know this but
good papers make for good outcomes. As to what i can read and see it was not
in this case. At the end of the day Ralph Dale and after JR made what this legacy
was and not anyone else. I am sure the family is still well off no tears for millions here.
DE Sr began rebuilding his relationships with his older children later in his life once he became successful. This is why Jr and Kerry began driving for DEI . There's a video of DEsr and Kerry In victory lane at Pocono after Kerry first arca win in 2000
Dale Earnhardt is the best race car driver that ever lived
You should do a video about the day and events that led up to Ricky Stenhouse jr DNQ from talladega in 2014. Kind of a wild and interesting thing but no videos on it that I can find
Also don't forget that Kevin Harvick was going pay trebult to Dale Earnhardt in 2003 or 2004 by driving the 3 car but Teresa have him crap
Yeah, I remember that, and the sad thing about all that, is she doesn't have a say about the number 3, because RCI owns the number, not her. She also raised a lot of stink, when Richard put Austin Dillon in it.
Chip Powell She's by far the worst owner in Nascar history
She wouldnt benefit from anything to do with the 3 so she was completely against it. She had an issue with Jr driving it in 2002 at Daytona. She couldnt gain from it financially so she opposed it.
Justin Smith That's the blue Oreo's car right, my brother has the diecast of that car
Do the rise and fall of Kevin Harvick inc.
2:15.
Real subtle, genius.
SovietOnion go toyota
We look back at this now and wonder why Dale Earnhardt seem to love this woman so much
Robert Yates Racing please
Teresa Earnhardt pretty much took a diamond and smashed it to pieces. Dale would be so pissed at her for ruining his creation
I came to find out that all of Dale Earnhardt's seniors cars are now up for sale as well as memorabilia
Great job
I enjoyed it.
How bout the rise and fall of Bahari Racing?
Michael Waltrip racing rise and fall or RedBull racing or Phoenix racing
josie lazalde Jimmy Finnig
Buckshot Jones
Check out tha used inventory at 1:55...some IROC's,RX-7,Cutlass.. some cool cars
Teresa has to be the most hated woman in NASCAR but she brought it all on herself. I’m glad she’s out of the sport.
Brilliant video!
I have an idea for a Rise and Fall episode. NASCAR - The Rise and Fall
Maybe it will help it come back like Nashville Superspeedway!
Company Man did that already.
Btw one of DEI haulers now belong to Hillbilly Racing in Westfield North Carolina
I have a buddy here in Texas that talks just like you, swear to God I do!!!!
That Beaman Toyota plug 😂
DannyBHustlin' 😂
all of the hard work and restless hours that dale put into that team for his son and other talented drivers to race in just for it to be torn apart for money, wow
Ever wonder what happened to the band Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.? Exactly.
BINGO!!!
SovietOnion junior nation ? their still around
Changed their name
I would like to see some other teams such as Red Horse Racing or Evernham. But I would like a more in depth on what got them to be so good and then what ultimately killed them. But I did enjoy this video
6:25 well, other than the Talladega yellow line controversy...
BTW I always liked the 3 and the E on each side.very nice graphic
I think a rise and fall of Furniture Row Racing would be good.
Still annoys me about that. I think (and not the only one) Gibbs wanted Truex so they doubled their costs for the cars. Truex had sponsorship.
Trackhouse Racing Team
I too would like to see the rise and fall of Michael Waltrip Racing, including what happened to the shop that used to be a movie theater. Also, why Junior Johnson got out of racing and how Brett Bodine bought the team.

I got you!
I'm a huge Earnhardt fan sr and jr and always will be i miss Dale Sr so much
Good info enjoyed watched
I also found out that Dale Earnhardt INC merged with Ginn Racing in 2007.
