@@DIEGhostfish yeah you're right, just went and had a look and Grimgor CANNOT become immortal unfortunately. However, as demonstrated Kholek absolutely can
@@MrFartquad The technical cut off is 50%=< casualties. You can get that without triggering a pyrrhic victory since the victory calculation works on balance of power while the Wades in Gore trait only cares about the casualty number.

"It features the chaos wastes of swindon" absolutely killed me since I used to live there for a bit, and I can assure you that it is truly something worth this expression indeed
Hey Spif, there is a new exploit in the new bannerlord update 1.8 where lords would buy out 300k-1million worth of grain in order not to starve. After i defeat their armies, i sold their grain of 400k in a nerby town and buy myself and companions armor and weapons.
Another sweet thing for Chaos is iron mines add +10 armour for your Chaos warriors, which stacks... then there is the lord trait that buffs infantry armour and defense.. you could hit 200 armour, which for relatively basic infantry is insane
One time when I was soloing with Kholek, I got a message at the top of the screen... "Your troops are routing!" So I scroll over to where I sat my troops and they're running from Deathmaster Sniktch... the entire time I was wondering where he was, too. "Oh shit, there he is!" As Kholek immediately turns away and charges at Sniktch. Moral of the story: Never leave your units undefended when Sniktch is around.
I always played Kholek with a whole army of Shaggoths, and it was like a steamroller. In Tabletop Warhammer back in the early days I did a similar thing. A massive unit of dragon ogres with a stacked champ/general
Dude an hour ago I said wouldn't it be good if this handsome British dude uploads a video about Warhammer 3 and here we go Love you so much so the UA-cam algorithm only recommends your videos I'm not even kidding
Couple things there at the start I learnt in my own kholek glow up campaign: 1. You're better off going south right away to grab Grimgor as a vassal before he gets his second settlement. You can choose to kill his army on the way, this will stop him from being able to wipe out the other orcs there and net you another early vassal. Then you move east. 2. Only fortresses with the large spike top left let you vassalise Norscans. That one you were sieging was in control of a minor warriors of chaos faction. You could have vassalised them instead of occupying the fortress. 3. When you vassalise a warriors of chaos faction you also get their vassals. It seems you wiped out vilitch's vassal before him, so you lost out on a vassal. . So at the point where you say you have three vassals you should have 7! :o
This game has some pretty wild oversights, like Oxyotl just teleporting around the map, walking into every single major settlement, basically invisible, and capturing it without firing a single shot. Still a lot of fun though.
I love the results at the last battle. Kholek's Army: 28 losses. Tomb King Army: 2800 losses. The game: "It was a Close Victory, you just barely won." Gotta love that Red Army logic.
I unknowingly did the same exploits, I was wondering why suddenly Suneater felt so strong compared to the other updated/even the new chaos lords now I know why. I have 12 vassals, couple skaven, orge, one ork, and then mostly choas and norsca lol
In game 2 Bretonnian factions could build the Armory building, which gives all armies +2 armor. I personally found this mechanic to be pretty broken as you can increase the armor of everyone in your army to insane levels just by conquering the map and building this building in every one of your main settlements. I can't fathom how much more armor you can now give to your forces in Immortal Empires when playing as Bretonnia.
*takes a sip of Yorkshire tea* My new personal headcanon is that Kholek just really likes having an audience to watch him do cool stuff, because what’s the point of being awesome if there aren’t people to appreciate it?
I was in the middle of a Valkia campaign, ended up getting the Chainsword from Khorne very early into the campaign, made it all the way to Tilea with Midnight Aristocracy Crisis active. It was fun seeing Helman Ghorst go out of control but couldn't kill him because of the update 2.1.1. Now the game crashes every other turn, I may have to start all over again but at least I paid back the Dark Elves for interrupting my Von Carstein campaign from TWW2.
@@Riftweaver1981 I was able to get from filling the Eye at the top of the screen. When you fill it up and get Khorne's attention, each time an event triggers and I got really lucky early on in the game. At the cost of injury my starting Hero, Chainsword was one of the 4 options available.
In hell where she belongs. People are really forgetting about the whole head of state of the British empire. More recently she actively protected Prince Andrew…
Good vid, only trouble is that there are currently quite a few lords that can solo entire armies. The buff Kholek got from vassals is a fairly minor factor, what really clenches it is having a good enough balance of HP pool + ability to regenerate. Some regenning lords did get nerfed (actually I think just Helman Ghorst?) but the balance of the game remains in absolute tatters, and some lords being easy to make invincible is only the icing on that cake. There's cheese haphazardly tossed in the mix all the way down, a fair number of units that completely obliterate well above their cost while laughing at what would be their hard counters.
With Exploits like these it'd be fun to have a series of counter atempts, where Spiff tries to beat his own exploits^^ although he would probably need assistance for most of them
This video made me buy the game lol. I’m stuck between a gigantic horde of goblin/orc armies and an angry dragon guy wanting revenge on me for destroying his homeland
just casually listening to the metal gear rising revengeance that has been placed in the background whilst one person is mauling an entire army like its another day in the office
Exploit: if you get a military ally, you can recruit an ally army, but if said army dies with some hero’s, you somehow recruit a different races heros….even after you betray your ally
I mean this would have been an actual exploit that he could have showcased. In this video he just played Kholek pretty much exactly how the developers intended Kholek to be played, and ended up with a character that is weaker than Skarbrand.
Computer: "wow, such a close battle" Spiff: "I disagree" He lost 20 people whilst the enemy lost 1000s, it wasn't even on the same planet, let alone same ball park, so either the AI is trying to downplay its loss, or it's just that stupid.
It's an annoying thing with these titles, if the AI expects you to get completely beaten in the auto-resolve, it will only ever give you a "close victory" result. You can literally not have a single casualty and it will still give you a "close victory"
It has to do with how balance of power is calculated. Basically, it doesn't matter how many losses the enemy suffered, it only comes down to how your own army ends up. And for that, it also uses ammo reserves and unit models that were damaged but not killed (which automatically get fully healed after a battle unless it was a single entity monster, which is why units that were beaten up in the battle can sometimes be full health in the post battle screen if the damage was spread out enough to not kill any models).
The AI favors and gives greater weight to ranged units over melee units in auto resolve. Melee oriented factions tend to get lower outcomes compaired to ranged factions. Nurgle, Beastmen, Khorn, and Vampires tend to have much better armies loosing to much weaker armies in auto resolve. Nurgle and Vampires get the shortest end of the stick because they can go into a fight with a dangerous enemy army and walk out of it if the player controls the army with minimal to no model losses, but auto resolve the same battle and loose half their army or lose outright.
Kholek Suneater, Supreme King of Doomstacks since the moment the first game released. He buffed Dragon Ogre Shaggoths with some of his perks, and more importantly, aesthetically fit among his peers.
This made me curious how armor worked in the game. It's a random reduction of non-ap damage starting from 0% negated but up to 100%. Each point up to 100 it reduces damage by a minimum half a percent. Up to 200 it reduces by a quarter of a percent. Anything over 200 does nothing. So you get a minimum 75% reduction to non-ap damage at 200 armor. Damage reduction from armor cannot eliminate all damage but will reduce it to the minimum level of one point of damage. Weird.
if I recall it is more simple armor = 50% to 100% DR per 1 point in armor (so 100 is 50% to 100% Damage reduction against base weapon damage (Aka non AP) and unless you have perfect vigor 200+ does have some value
@@honorguard7616 You can only get 90% of any DR effect, so armor only scales up to 180, at which point it's guaranteed to reduce any instance of non-AP damage by 90%. However, it does stack with Physical Resistance and Ward Save, so with the right items and characters, it's entirely possibly to reach 90% AP and 99% non-AP resistance. Not only that, these are entirely viable, with multiple videos of one-man-doomstacks floating around on UA-cam.
Small correction on my end: I asked on Reddit and a few other places to make sure, and apparently armor *does* scale up to 100%... with a caveat. In short, due to how the damage-formula works, even at 200 armor, one point of non-AP damage goes through, so long as the model makes the MA roll against the opponent's MD. It's why big monsters tend to get savaged if they get caught in a tar-pit, because every stab a gobbo makes at the back of their ankle is more-or-less a guaranteed hit. With hundreds of the buggers, it adds up quickly. However, where this small distinction becomes really important is with ranged units, especially against large enemies. It's the reason why giants were and are still mostly useless, because they are big, slow targets, and when they get focus-fired by three peasant archer units, each arrow has guaranteed plinking damage, no matter how little AP damage they have, usually melting them before they could even get into melee range.
I think Spiff's videos are shot a while in advance, and editing takes time - I bet this one was done weeks ago and was quickly edited recently to remove any Queen references.
15:30 - You could say it's a grand and intoxicating innocence How could he be so naive? Perhaps he should come and lay down his weapons, and maybe it's not too late for mercy
The video was entertaining, I give you that. Kolek had over 200 armor, allowing him to stop all non armor piercing damage. The weapon strenght is lost, as there is a limited number of entities he can hit at once. The mass is the best, as it allows him not to get stuck. No Talisman of Preservation? No Armour of Destiniy? Kolek had not reached its maximum potential! Overall good video, yet it is also click-bait, since it does not seems to be overpowered at all!
@@Nerazmus Not for armour. In this case you are wrong. Armour will block 100%-1 non- armour piercing damage at 200 armour. It also stacks with the other resistances that are capped at 90%.
So what would happen if Kholek got so many vassals that he integer-overflowed into the weakest being in the Universe? It would need to be a 2-byte for that though.
A player in china used console and vassalized 200 factions as Kholek...the dude became massssive, and not just in battle map, he is actually also massive on campaign map as well
Funny enough, Legend did review a one man doomstack Kholek, like 4 days ago, with 353 armor and 2.2k weapon strenght, with what looks like 75% of the map as his vassals
For some really scary context: When Spiff got that healing Relic, it was pretty much over. Even with just one/two vassals, Suneater had so much health he'd heal 1000 everytime, meaning no one could actually whittle him down.
I just love Warhammer 3 now, i played a Skarbrand campaign and in these last few days i saw quite a few other totally op lords that i cant wait to play :D
Now imagine if Spiff got control of an Ork WAAAAAGH! The thing he could accomplish by making DA BOYS believe it Ork Nob #1: Wez About ta siege Holy Terra! Ork Nob #2: Roit but first, tea time. It'z gonna make us invincible to hummie gunz just like Spiff said it would. Ork Non #3: Oi'l get the krumpets!
So NGL this felt a little underwhelming? I was able to top those stats with a Khorne Daemon Prince. Got him close to max physical resist too combined with ward save.
Kholek is definitely a hilariously broken campaign, since you can basically play an easier Vilitch campaign, while having a stronger late game, due to the dozens of vassals you get
This is not even remotely true. Vilitch faction while only middle of the pack is still stronger than Kholeks factions which is pretty much the weakest WoC faction currently. This video is a bit misleading. This isn't an exploit, heck it isn't even that powerful.
@@ruukinen >isn't that powefull > solo's the game with one unit. Even if it isn't an exploit it's pretty busted. The actual exploits must be truely disgusting.
@@rubz1390 You can literally do that with almost any leader type character in this game. How much effort you need to put in depends on how strong they start off as.
@@rubz1390 Yeah, Skarbrand starts of like that at level 1. The problem is that with a surface level understanding of how the game works having 2k weapon strength sounds amazing but Kholek has a max splash attack of like 8. That means he can at most kill 8 models in one hit. Since he can't cast any spells his capability to clear chaff is garbage. Also this at most makes one army strong. Since he is unbreakable, Gimgor will never suffer any form of leadership loss. This means his leadership will never drop below 50%, and therefore he will stand there attacking at 1hp until everything else is routed or dead. While Kholek is theoretically unkillable, Grimgor is actually unkillable.
...Grimgor can't give himself that banner it has to be a Black Orc infantry company. You CAN buff them up to near unbreakable or could in 2.
@@DIEGhostfish yeah you're right, just went and had a look and Grimgor CANNOT become immortal unfortunately. However, as demonstrated Kholek absolutely can

"Making vassals out of all factions. " - Coming from a Britt sound kinda scary tough.
btw when you loose alot of units in auto resolve a bunch of times you can get a "bloody" trait which further increases your max HP
It's in fights in general, far easier to manual and run them into the enemy one at a time as a blood sacrifice.
It's for Phyrric victories, up to +20%
@@MrFartquad The technical cut off is 50%=< casualties. You can get that without triggering a pyrrhic victory since the victory calculation works on balance of power while the Wades in Gore trait only cares about the casualty number.
@@ruukinen It is definitely more than that, I think I have read that >90% of the models must die, but even if not, it is definitely >75%. Using AoE magic or artillery on manual fire to nuke your own units is almost a must, since it is really hard to reliably win battles while losing that many entities, unless your lord is an absolute beast, and the entire rest of the army is garbage chaff.
@@Riwillion It's 50%. Just try it out with a decent strength lord against a small garrison and one unit of literally whatever. Kill off half the units of that whatever and you'll get the trait when you mop up the garrison with your lord.
It's also fairly easy to get with auto resolve on harder difficulties so it isn't necessary to nuke your own troops like you claimed.
just a tip, when you attack someone, remove the defensive mode (the shield icon) so the character will keep attacking and following the target , if not it will stop after the first few attacks and will stay on defensive

Can't wait for a perfectly balanced game with no exploits.

Okay.
Love the metal gear revengance music at around 9 minutes
Alright, gotta get Spiff to 10 million subscribers for the 'real life is perfectly balanced' video as he collapses reality with his mass.
Couple things there at the start I learnt in my own kholek glow up campaign:

The game: "It was a Close Victory, you just barely won."
Gotta love that Red Army logic.
i love how Collective Consciousness plays when Kholek Suneater goes into battle
It's always wierd watching Spiff play stuff and I actually know what's going on without him explaining it lol
I unknowingly did the same exploits, I was wondering why suddenly Suneater felt so strong compared to the other updated/even the new chaos lords now I know why. I have 12 vassals, couple skaven, orge, one ork, and then mostly choas and norsca lol
Well it's not an exploit. It's literally how he's designed. It's very fun though :)
I can confirm that Swindon is home to Chaos spawn. My driving instructor took me 1.5 hours down the motorway to the magic roundabout (look it up).
As someone who currently lives in Swindon,I confirm I have to fight off hordes of Chaos Demons as I try to get the bus to College.
When the world needed him most, he returns to Warhammer, bless.

It was fun seeing Helman Ghorst go out of control but couldn't kill him because of the update 2.1.1. Now the game crashes every other turn, I may have to start all over again but at least I paid back the Dark Elves for interrupting my Von Carstein campaign from TWW2.
i thought you could only get the chainsword from the khorne rifts, and valkia doesnt have access to those
@@Riftweaver1981 I was able to get from filling the Eye at the top of the screen. When you fill it up and get Khorne's attention, each time an event triggers and I got really lucky early on in the game. At the cost of injury my starting Hero, Chainsword was one of the 4 options available.

"Oh this is the mighty army you brought to defeat me?!" -To be fair, they didnt bring anything...you attacked their home 🤣

Computer: "wow, such a close battle"
Spiff: "I disagree"
He lost 20 people whilst the enemy lost 1000s, it wasn't even on the same planet, let alone same ball park, so either the AI is trying to downplay its loss, or it's just that stupid.
Good replies :) but essentially, the AI is stupid.
@@SWISS-1337 The AI =/= the algorithm for deciding whether the battle was a pyrrhic/close/decisive/heroic victory. The AI is what controls the enemy.
Weird.
if I recall it is more simple
armor = 50% to 100% DR per 1 point in armor (so 100 is 50% to 100% Damage reduction against base weapon damage (Aka non AP) and unless you have perfect vigor 200+ does have some value
Not only that, these are entirely viable, with multiple videos of one-man-doomstacks floating around on UA-cam.
going over 200 has a purpose because of armor debuff spells and attacks like weeping blades from skaven or plague of rust
@@Nightmare_52 and fatigue reduces armor as well (by 50% if I recall) so without perfect vigor you'll need 400 to keep max reduction
There's something very pleasing to the ear whenever Spiff says dude or dudes.

It's what Her Majesty would want.
She would not want him to stop anyway. 👍
there was a stream for 2 hours titled "Queen Elizabeth II has passed - Time For A Cup Of Tea." on sep 8th

Spiff has so much fun playing these games, and it's so entertaining watching him have fun.

@@ruukinen >isn't that powefull

@@rubz1390 You can literally do that with almost any leader type character in this game. How much effort you need to put in depends on how strong they start off as.
@@ruukinen Brit did this by literally turn 5. Don't see how that required any effort from his part.
