  • This video should give you a lot of good approaches to solving the problem of operating HF under restricted space conditions, whether they be in an HOA, an apartment, a hotel or in the field.

I am new into ham radio and would like to understand this "stay stealthy", "conceal" "nosy neighbour" things a bit better. Is it really likely that the radio equipment will cause issues in neighbours devices even when used wihtin legal limits, or is this more an "esoteric" thing (like neighbours flatter themselves that the antennas have impact on their well-being)? 🤔
By the way - I am surprised that you Americans worry so much about these things. It thought this was more like a "German" thing (I am German ...). 😉

Excellent, as always. Lots of great information here. So true about using an amp Vs. a decent antenna!! I wish more people got that message-it would cut down on QRM considerably! (Kudos to ARRL for finally outlawing them for Field Day!)

Very timely Rudi, thanks. I live in 55+ 3rd floor apt in 3 story bldg. Balcony is only 4x6ft. Stucco exterior with aluminum Balcony soffit ceiling. Currently have mfj 1622 Balcony antenna you showed. Better on 20m,to talk, than 40m. Thanks Rudi.!!
    Considering shark hamsticks.

Your audio is very low compared to the majority of other youtube videos. Pretty much unlistenable. Sorry
