    Beedrill, my all time favorite Pokemon of all time (and yes, this was before he got the mega). I understand he's not great by any sense if the word, I can't help but love his design, his ferocity in the anime, and the conceptually cool move pool he receives. Seriously, look at it. X-scissor, Drill Run, Poison Jab, Fell Stinger: if we had a trainer in the anime who's primary pokemon was Beedrill (and they weren't treated as a joke), I believe there is a lot they could do with the design and style of his moves.

    I loved Beedrill and Butterfree they seriously helped me beat the game. My moveset for Beedrill was: Twineedle, Cut, Mega Drain, Poison Sting. I can't remember all of Butterfree's moves but I remember it had Sleep Powder & Dream Eater.

    • @youtube-kit9450
      @youtube-kit9450 Рік тому

      Well, Beedrill *is* a bad mon. It just is way better than anywhere else (aside from gen 6 with its Mega, arguably) in R/B's Kanto because of bug being super effective against poison, which turns so many neutral/NSE matchups into suddenly being super/doubly super effective.
      A fifth of the pokémon in gen 1 is part poison type, and Beedrill is the one Pokémon with a good STAB bug move.
      Thus, I'd absolutely understand anyone taking Beedrill in R/B PvE. if you pick Beedrill, might as well do it there to maximize its potential.

    I've been a big fan since the beginning of the series, and I've noticed that your strategies and playstyle have increased dramatically (specifically since Mewtwo set the gold standard, you've come up with some good time saving strategies to try to compete with that). What I think would be interesting is after all the other runs are complete, to do a rerun of the first three, to see the contrast in time and level between the starters after running the game at least 53 times. Who knows, maybe the starters would be completely ranked differently being ran with different play styles! Either way, great content, can't wait for the next video, much love from Nova Scotia

    • @Skarfar90
      @Skarfar90 2 роки тому

      @@Machoke. That's exactly what I did.
      The main problem with Tauros, in a speedrun sense is getting past Brock early on, due to Tauros only knowing Tackle. Being in the slow level up group is also a downside.
      Jrose also has a Tauros run on the channel where he explained the downsides. He did manage a much better time than the one I got, but I am sure that if I re-did Tauros, I could get a similar time, or even better if I gave it my best.
      In short: You can't get through the game before Brock with minimum battles, but after that, you can pretty much do it.

      Also, getting past Brock can also come down to RNG, if let's say his Geodude only use defense curl, it will be way more difficult for a Pokemon knowing only a single-turn move. Onix is much easier to deal with, unless you get unlucky with Bide, or many screeches

  • @sameash3153

    Yes! Beedrill is my favorite Pokémon! Twineedle is such a good gen 1 move it's insane. I have killed so many Kadabra and Alakazam with my little beastdrill. So happy you finally did the beedrill run, I was really hoping you wouldn't do weedle. Their final evolution forms are basically as strong as a weak single stage evolution Pokémon so I think it's totally valid to skip the bug forms.
    I've done many solo runs with beedrill. He will destroy every grass type in the game, no doubt, with that 4x bug weakness. And he gets agility, sword dance, how can you not love the little bug? He can take out an Alakazam in one hit with a move that's just 20 BP!
