Dry fly fishing the Mo around Craig will show you how good of a dry fly angler you actually are. I've put plenty of "great dryfly fishermen" in the front of my boat before from the dam to Deerborn and have watched them struggle. That seam behind the fence at 3:45 holds some great fish every day. I fished it a bunch but lived there in a small camper one year for 9 months. Thought I was a good dryfly angler. Got humbled for a couple months (stuck with bobber fishing), learned for a couple months, and then had five months of the best dry fly fishing of my life. That river will make you one heck of a fisherman.

Very cool watching this , we live in Ennis and seeing you fishing the Missouri River from Holter to Craig which we did a bunch this spring and summer was nice . I’m sure you got to meet the guys at Wolf Creek angler for local intel . 11:30 PM driving through Ennis past the Longbranch and Silver Dollar probably heading to camp at the Ennis Campground. If you come out here again make sure to hit the Beaverhead ,Big Hole and Henry’s Fork you won’t regret it .

I was amazed at all of the grass on the Mo. I had no idea. That makes fishing, in my humble and ignorant opinion, difficult. Tougher to read, and leads to a lot of general prospecting. You guys seems to have it dialed in as best as possible though. Interested to see how the Madison treats you all. Looking forward to the rest of the series. Wonderful job with everything and keep them coming.

The thing i really dont get about fly flishing is when theres a thousand bugs on the water surface and the trout picks your fly instead of the other million possible bugs

The Mo' is notorious for exposing insufficient dry fly anglers. If you can consistently catch fish on dries there, you can catch them anywhere.
