I think it would be more interesting for the curveball if the chefs suddenly give an extra task for them in the time limit. For example: 1. Ask the three to plate the dish in certain way; 2. Ask them to make drinks that will go well with the dish; 3. Give them an extra ingredient that they have to use in any way; 4. Ask them to incorporate both chefs' favourite ingredient/flavour/anything. So I'm basically asking for a curveball that is not all about ruining each other's dish. Well granted, Barry took your chilli flakes which is a key ingredient for a Korean dish, but then again this is a Philly cheesesteak battle and not a Korean dish battle. :p

As a Korean, I loved seeing what Jamie did with our cultural ingredients (for once), but yea I agree that Barry's philly cheesesteak was better for the challenge. Jamie's focus was on bringing out the Korean flavors, but I imagine it doesn't work too well with the bread and possibly with the type of cheese. I think that's the point hahaha. The video they were watching at the start is a brothers green eats video where he calls them out for an old video where they make a "philly cheesesteak" that is definitely not a cheesesteak.
I don‘t think I like the curve ball rule. Its kind of intervening with the possibly great recipe they thought of. Still love your show though. How about an ultimate battle in german/austrian Schnitzel? Theres so many possible things to do with Schnitzel for example Schnitzel-Hawaii.
I've been waiting for a new ultimate battle for ages!! This is awesome :) would be awesome to see a gluten-free battle or a stirfry battle. Also, a curveball: they have to use only one hand for the next 15 minutes of the battle.
I don't know how well they know each other IRL, but I thought the Brothers Green Eats video was mean-spirited. Instead light-hearted banter ribbing them for the inauthentic recipe, he was acting quite bitchy, not even cracking a smile. I understand that his culture's food was misrepresented, but he should realise that SortedFood learnt the recipe from an American during their travels around USA. SF also called their recipe the "Best", not the "Best Authentic", which is a matter of opinion. They thought the Philly Cheesesteaks they had were overrated. Quite frankly, the ketchup-covered squirty cheese sandwich BGE showed isn't going to win anyone over. It may taste great, but it looks and sounds a bit crap. SF was trying to present a better version. Yeah, maybe they shouldn't had called it "Philly" cheesesteak, but it is an existing cheesesteak recipe, and cheesesteaks originated in Philadelphia(?), so it's not inaccurate to call it "Philly". And also the title of the BGE video made it seem like they were clout-chasing drama whores.
Ooooh I miss this format! I'd like to eat all of that whether or not they are not 'real' philly cheesesteaks. I have never thought of mixing gochujang with butter before. I like the outcome of this battle. I'd like to put mushrooms on my cheesesteak.
Battle theme idea: Seen this under an older battle, so not my idea! Only Barry gets the brief, but he flips it into something different, obviously. Jamie and Mike then have to prepare something based on Barrys concoction.
1. Barry - No such thing as too much garlic and cheese, but wish it had different bread 2. Mike - Needed more cheese and some more browning to that beef 3. Jamie - love bulgogi and kimchi, but not so sure about putting it on a sub roll with cheese

“South Korean Flavors”
This is paella burrito all over again isn’t it?
I don‘t think I like the curve ball rule. Its kind of intervening with the possibly great recipe they thought of.
Still love your show though.
How about an ultimate battle in german/austrian Schnitzel? Theres so many possible things to do with Schnitzel for example Schnitzel-Hawaii.
I've been waiting for a new ultimate battle for ages!! This is awesome :) would be awesome to see a gluten-free battle or a stirfry battle. Also, a curveball: they have to use only one hand for the next 15 minutes of the battle.
I love how they showed the Brother Green Response Video! He didn’t even make a truly authentic Philly Cheesesteak yet he called out our lads! 😂
And disliked it too
I came here only to see whether the lads were reacting to brothers green lol
But that sandwich series though... the best sandwich series, he makes almost all his bread!
"It gets up the scum off the bottom of the pan" Every chef everywhere just felt a tremor in the force.
Ooooh I miss this format!
I'd like to eat all of that whether or not they are not 'real' philly cheesesteaks. I have never thought of mixing gochujang with butter before. I like the outcome of this battle. I'd like to put mushrooms on my cheesesteak.
I love the curveball mechanic! I’ve never been more excited for a UA-cam series than this newest head to head series!
Jamie: DID YOU PUT *ANY* CAMEMBERT IN THAT!?
Ben: *Heavy* on cheese
Battle theme idea:
Seen this under an older battle, so not my idea!
Only Barry gets the brief, but he flips it into something different, obviously.
Jamie and Mike then have to prepare something based on Barrys concoction.
it'll be 13 min of all of them making cloud eggs lol
@@Skimsoco76 Would love to see that!
James korean twist of the cheesesteak looks delicious!
FinixFire ikr
James being insulted by Ben cutting a cheesesteak when there were four of them is big mood
1. Barry - No such thing as too much garlic and cheese, but wish it had different bread
2. Mike - Needed more cheese and some more browning to that beef
3. Jamie - love bulgogi and kimchi, but not so sure about putting it on a sub roll with cheese
When somebody wins one of these competitions, I would like to see them draped in a red cape with ermine trim, a tiara placed on the top of their head, and give them a dozen roses! We used to have a very old television show here in America called “Queen for a Day” that did this. You can still pick it up on UA-cam, it’s a hoot! 😂
Is it the first time barry didnt miss the theme of battle?
The curveball sucks. Cooking should be enjoyable and not something to have to repair
Agreed. I don't like the curveball format.
You just don't get the gist of this show, do you?
Apparently not
Annie1962 there’s a difference tho - almost all of these curveball comments are better than what they did
Don't mind me, I'm just here waiting for the "You did it WRONG!!??!" comments. 😂
We're bracing ourselves!
Best Dad Joke of the Week I have seen so far! Nicely done.
