Let me know what you thought of this video!
I legit like this guy just because he came out was cool to be on camera Gave proper instructions on his product or the product he was there to represent. Definitely going to be checking these guys out as I run 24’s on my 97 Silverado step-side brand new front end and brand new tires still have a slight shake at 75
He was a super cool guy! We got along really well. He not only came out, but helped me install them in the blazing heat.
Taylor Ray back in the day you’ve seen guys come out and do shit like that..now a days in 2019 nope. You can tell he does this everyday on or off camera he didn’t do all of that for the “clout” and it shows and feels good to watch because maybe it’s just where I’m from but you don’t see people being genuine in a business aspect now a days. Mostly cash grabs with little customer service great video tay tay 🤣🤣💪🏻
I run them and they legit work. Just buy em.
Taylor Ray what city are you in now? I use to live in park manor.
@@Taylordrifts It is advertisment for him..
I think making those centramatics in black would be a great idea!
I painted mine black and just the rim, that holds the synthetic fluid and media, red which shows through my polished aluminum wheel holes and look awesome. Get creative.
You should add a trans temp gauge under the boost and egt.
I was thinking the same. You're pulling a lot of weight knowing your trans temp on big hills on the interstate is crucial
It's on the to do list. lol
If the truck is lowered check the pinion angle for the cause of the driveline vibrations
That's what i was thinking, maybe it's binding.
this this this!
Was not expecting a drift upload, but yes it’s what we needed!!!! Gosh dang the Miata!!!!! Collection list 1st the Miata 2nd hondaru next Leroy !
Unbalanced drive shaft. What my vibration was on mine. I chased mine for a while.
Either that or the dirveline angle could be off. Pinion angle might need to be adjusted. That can cause some serious harmonics that will kill U-joints rather quickly.
That's what sucks about a vibration. It could be something as easy as a tire. To something you wouldn't think of. It's a try one thing. See if it's fixed. If not. Keep going down the list. Just like I thought it was my front passenger wheel bearing that was bad on my navigator. Nope. It was the rear driver side. And of course I had to pull the axel out to do them.
Same here for me. I went and changed the ring and pinion gears, i should have looked at my driveshaft before hand.
Mine had a very tiny bend in the shaft after the carrier bearing. I only chased that one for 3 years........lol
True, my friends GMC had that issues. Literally never expected the drive shaft to cause that issue lol
Taylor I do truck tires for a living. What you need is centering lug nuts. They have a collar that centers one or two truck wheels depending on the ones you get. Once the wheels are centered on the studs then they hopefully will be centered on your hubs. The issue with truck wheels is the amount of movement that they have just from the lug bores. With 80k lbs it doesn't make as much of a difference as it would on a light pickup. However it's still a noticeable improvement. You can also have some of the truck tires spin balanced with stick on weights. Obviously the outside rears won't be able to without looking bad. Balance rings don't really work that well. We've had the powder clump up internally and actually make things worse

I'm not sure if they're the correct thread or size, but you can see the collars that I'm talking about
Just ordered a set of these after watching this video. Stumbled on this video when i went to to get my 7yr old ready for school. He was watching it on his TV. I watched it for a few minutes and seemed like a great product. I have a 2006 Chevy 3500 with 22" Peterbilt Alcoa's.
How did they work for you? I'm having nightmare trying to work out 37-12.50-22 nitto ridge grappler on American force. 2015.5 chevy dually cc lb. BIG PAIN IN THE ASS! Hopefully i can get em tamed down
@@briansnik1848 I would definitely recommend it! My problem was actually a very bad front end. Needed everything replaced. Inner & outer Tie rods, idler arms, pitman arm, hub bearing assembly. After replacing all that, it does ride really well.
Thanks for reply. I've been thru hell trying to get these to work. My main problem is in the rears. They actually shake the driveshaft at 72mph! I can power thru that speed and it trembles but won't put my poor driveshaft into a jump rope situation. Or i can take the rear outers off and it won't shake the driveshaft but still the tires tremble pretty good. Not sure if I'm working with junk tires here or what
Bet that driveshaft has been put back together out of balance. Try unbolting one end of driveshaft and rotating 180°
I have always been told that it was myth to do that, however with this issue and that near 10ft (I know its 2 piece) driveshaft anything is possible.
@@bannablitz247 depends really on if the joints were all replaced and if the driveshaft was rotated off 180° there. Center section should be splined to go together one way.... key word "should" I'm getting ready to replace my carrier and have been researching what not to do. We'll see if I still fubar it.
Also found a post where the guy could not get the shaft to balance. All new everything in the shaft. Even a driveshaft shop told them they couldnt balance it. Ended up buying a brand new shaft. Driveshaft shop said the old shaft most likely had the cardboard inside of it come unattached and made it impossible to balance. Who would of thought cardboard would be inside? New shaft fixed all the issues.
6. oh I believe the rear end is lowered. And with it being a 2 piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing the change of pitch from factory could cause the wrong angle for the u joints to properly work (u joints act up rotating at level) they have a certain degree they are supposed to be at. Can’t think of the exact term for it rn lol
Solid advice! I changed a trans in my fathers 01 suburban didn’t have a shake then one was present he told me to do the same thing sure as shit that was the problem he claims the 380k og Miles “wore” it in place 🤣🤣🤣
Well, it looks like I'm getting forty one and a half minutes less sleep tonight.
After watching the video today UA-cam recommended an old video of putting a handbrake in the C5. Had an awkward moment realizing how long I've been watching the videos. From quickjacks and a garage with a couch to a shop with lifts. It's been fun watching these past few years.
Iike the spikes too man, gotta have a Lil kid in us somewhere!!!
Why did he say they might be a little bro. ?
I like watching your videos because they remind me that I'm not the only one who's cars break constantly. Loving the truck content. Keep up the good work!
The amount, or lack of, hand motion when drifting is amazing.
Hope Al is okay. First met "Neighbour Al" back with Caleb so a lot of us have known him for a while now.
FYI before you tap the EGT. Be sure to dip your tap in axle grease so you can catch most of the metal shavings. Also run a magnet around the hole so you don't send any shavings through your tubo. Grenaded my turbo on my first 7.3 because I didn't know any better.
The content in the last month has been awesome, keep it up. This was a 40 minute video and it felt like nothing to watch all of it in one go.
The remaining shake could be the drive shaft. It's a common issue with Suzuki Samurais. It's really easy fixed if you understand the science. I've got a grasp of it. Basically, universal joints aren't constant velocity, so the joints at either end of the shaft have to be aligned correctly so they counter each other. That's why your diff and gearbox flanges need to be parallel. The wobble goes away when you come off the power because the torque converter unlocks.
That's what I think anyway.
Stock type ecm files do not unlock the TC in 3rd and OD.
@@kylesonsalla7620 Maybe it's just because when it's on power the engine is shaking the truck and when it's off power it makes the rpm 'shake'.
I bet the issue is that the pinion angle is off since the truck is lowered and because of the suspension movement and loading up the driveshaft its getting into a bind. Alternatively it may need to be re-balanced, might be worth it to cover your bases.
Could be
Definitely. Think you hit the nail on the head.
I said the same thing. Hopefully next video he will be looking into it.
Atmosphere is always a go to for me. Yesterday and Virgo are my favorite songs from him.
Cummins conversion rocks! I love mine and use it everyday!!!
No one:
Taylor: THIS IS MY 7.3 POWERSTROKE ON 24’S!
Always love the content and charisma. Keep the ford running smooth! hope to see you around Florida! Keep it metal!
New tail fin looks awesome in the rear shot! Great addition.
I love this channel because it is always so detailed! This is an example of how i would love for my channel to be!
You have no idea how excited I am for a Cummins swapped dually on semi wheels!! 😍😍
My favorite thing on this channel is the 7.3 Powerstroke on 24's. The 7.3 Powerstroke on 24's is actually what made me subscribe
7.3 Powerstroke one 24’s....with a 6.0 front end.... lmao
@@Taylordrifts lol love it
When you first said a few weeks ago that you had something coming to balance the wheels I knew it would be this and it's super cool to see them send out a person to actually demonstrate what it does.
Hey taylor, coming from a semi mechanic, a good way to get those wheels off is to shove a long pry bar underneath the wheel and keep your hand on top. Working the pry bar up and down will let you walk the wheel off the hub, and you can put them back on this way too. I do this all the time with full size truck tires because you'll kill your back trying to pick them up and put them on.
Atmosphere for life man. Take it easy!!!
Super cool video Taylor. Very interesting topic.
Compound turbo set up! Wooo
Get those for the driveshaft and that'll fix the rest of the vibrations. Driveshafts are balanced from the factory but the weights fall off all the time. Also, your pinion angle is different now that the truck is lowered. That causes all kinds of vibrations along with other issues.
Very nice 3 fiddy! Love the spikes and wheels! I also love the monochrome front air dam! Great video!
Crossfire Dual™ Tire Pressure Equalization System, 100 PSI, one per pkg. These vary in weight settings from like 100 to 120 psi of air. This may help on the dually.
Last minute Taylor makes for funny content.
I’ve seen people just drill a small hole in the line instead of using a t to get “proper” boost bleed instead of using a T. Love the vids!
Atmosphere is dope.
Taylor - Talks about how much he misses the power of his Cummins
Also Taylor - Im looking at a F350 dually with a blown motor but its totally a secret project!
I was laughing when he said it too.
It’s totally not going to be a Fummins
I think he’s going to swap a 6.7 into the 08-10
The truck is probably my favourite project of his currently so I'm 100% ok with a fummins build series, I think it would also be really good for the channel since any video with this truck get huge amounts of views.
I wish I could walk up and buy a dually with cash
Hopefully neighbor Al is alright D: We're all pullin for him! Just like when the chips are down, he would pull for us.... On his zero turn. :)
I love the spiky lug covers. And I love the new wing. Ain’t nothin wrong with none of it 👍🏻
I like that you film the good and the bad like to see we all have problems working on vehicle's bud
I bought centro-mantic wheel balancers when they came out. Saved me from balancing tires for 1.5 million miles.
Your doing a Cummins swap hell ya brother
It loses speed because you have 1000lbs of rim and tires. Get rid of the 18wheeler rims and get a good lighter set
Those 24s dont weigh to much more than a normal set of aftermarket wheels
They weight a lot more, we run 24.5 Alcoa’s on all our trucks, tire and rims is well over 150 pounds. That’s 900 pounds of chrome he’s spinning, but I mean it looks cool so
Not to mention his effective axle ratio went from 4.10 to probably 3.55 with the wheel/tire combo being that tall. Ford geared it the way they did for a reason. It does not have the grunt of a 12V Cummins which is why they geared it lower (numerically higher).
Charles Wall I think he regeared it but not sure
I shouldnt be laughing but when your handbrake broke i nearly died
will odrz dude same
I did too when I watched it 😂
Your truck is badass bro !!!
Who else rewatches Taylor ray content ?
Oh boy!
HES DOIN A CUMMINS SWAP!
I always thought maybe the driveshaft was out of balance because it has a nasty shake at 60 but my truck does have aftermarket weels so that saves a ton of time and money, thanks for showing this off and keep up the great videos 👌
I'm simple. I see Tay Ray. I click. I like. I watch.
Spikes are the shit. Keep em bro
Taylor the weather man had never seen a double rainbow before. XD
I wonder how many people here are old enough to have seen the double rainbow video? That went viral before youtube.
Taylor...that's what mine did when i didn't put the pill back in the vacuum line. It would just boost spike all the time.
My friend has a bunch of parts he wants to send you for the Subaru. Just a bunch of small stuff that you can use for the build.
Yes they need this for cars!!! Nobody takes there time both my cars have a slight shake
Usually you throw a bag a Bbs in your tires
Take a look at the shocks. I had a vibration in my 97 crew cab long bed f350. I chased the vibration changing the carrier bearing and having the drive shaft rebalanced. I also changed out the trans tailshaft bushing. Finally changed out the original shocks and the vibration went away. I was shocked!😬
Haha. Taylor is feeling a Fummins!
My semi mechanic uses a wheel alignment tool to align the wheel centered on the hub which is a big problem with semi wheels on those hubs. it makes a HUGE difference to center it vs not centered
Good on that guy for not pretending the vibration was 100% gone. Hopefully you figure out what's causing the other half of the vibration
You have got to fix what ever that squeaking noise In the shop. Makes my eye twitch
Ceiling fan wobble.. I'm betting.
I almost yelled at my dog to quit squeaking his toy until I remembered he died like a year ago 😞
Dude I just logged onto youtube just to write the same comment
Yaaaaassss!!!!!
Need to get some inexpensive LED linkable lights, and make yourself a shore plug for the trailer. So you can just plug into an outlet off your garage, or a generator.
According to TIA torque specs on truck axles should be 475 - 500 ft-lbs.
aj smeerdyk f-superduties otherwise are rated 175 ftlbs
I put a carrier bearing on an ‘05 duramax dually, right after the dealer did. They didn’t put any kind of grease on for installation and the rubber tore when they installed it. I had it on and off the lift for a couple days chasing the issue, but it was the carrier bearing.
That's a neat product, very clever.
Yo Taylor, I work in a semi shop and we sell these centramatics, super good buy, they balance up to 24oz on the fronts, and 32oz on the rear. They really make a difference. Also you talking about it being hard to reach the inside valve stem, at almost any dealership or truck stop they sell extensions, or even look into a gator cap, or “flow through” cap. They make it so you don’t have to take the cap off to check the air, but are a cap themselves. And to save your back some man, get a spoon bar and use it to take on and off the tires. Sorry for the long comment
Yeah, in the towing industry we use 19.5 wheels for the most part, the tires available are crap, sometimes as much as a pound out of whack brand new, they never stay balanced, you spend 8-10 hours a day in these trucks while they shake you to exhaustion. I'm finally just going to use tire beads, I've even heard some people just throw half a dozen golf balls in there and call it a day.
Inner cv joint maybe? If that is off center even slightly, it causes the same shake on acceleration and load but goes away when coasting.
Maybe Try trans and motor mounts for the truck. Could be a shot trans mount allowing it to move a little and cause a vibration. I had a similar issue in my duramax when one of my trans mounts went bad.
Centramatic wheel balances are the only solution on the market for balancing wheels. They work amazing and are very cost effective.
I'd lose the filter, I know it's designed for p.s. but it's not designed to flow fast enough for quick lock to lock and you're most likely starving the pump and or rack of flow
Either that or put a second one in parallel.
CENTRAMATICS! Dude I work with semis, we sell those all day. They also make long pressure checkers and chucks so you can check/air the duals.
I need that! Lol
Hit up a truck stop! Lol. ALL KINDS of crazy cool stuff.
I had the same problem with my Subaru not hitting target boost, after replacing everything come to find out it’s your factory boost controller
Cobb sells a 3 port boost controller and it does away with the restrictor pill but does require a new tune. Johnson tuning is the best for Subaru tunes
The spikes are dope, bro on brother. 🤘🏻
Taylor check your pinion angle on the rear of the diff. If that’s off it will cause a driveline vibration. Also double check the u joints and the center carrier bearing. I know you said that the u joints and carrier bearing looked new but they can be bad or defective. You can’t always count on new parts being good. I’ve seen them bad on these trucks before. Hope this info helps you and if you need anymore help just let me know. I also have a super duty, it’s a 01 but not a dully and I know these trucks inside and out being I had it since I bought it brand new back in 01. Good luck buddy
I have a 01 f250 powerstroke and 99 crew cab long bed dually i had to send the drive shaft off the dually to a drive shaft shop and have it rebuilt and balanced befor my shake went away then a tire shop dropped the truck off a jack and bent the drive shaft and got a brand new oem one and it was smoother then the rebuild one but 780$ lol
Mmm so idk if anyone else has said this but you can do same thing by putting air soft bbs in the tire itself or get amazon kit. It’s what I do on my Jeep with 38s to balance it works like a charm
exhaust back pressure tube and sensor replace. easy quick check for lack of HP, MPGs. Also, make sure your fan clutch is working properly.
You can use tire beads to balance those wheels as well that work great. I’d paint the centramatics black though and you wouldn’t even notice them. Vibration could be driveshaft angle or balance as well 🤷♂️
I got rid of my semi wheels due to them always shaking. Check the drive shaft for balance.
Did Taylor hint at a Cummins swap?! I hope so! Love the content, and his videos give me ideas for my vids! Love it
Hey i had a 06’ dodge dually and also had a shake and got worse as you got higher in speed. Changed out the carrier bearing and re balanced the drive shafts. Found the rest of the shake to be in the harmonic balancer. The way i found that was at idle i held the rev steady at what the rpm’s would be like on highway speeds and was shaking. Changed out the harmonic balancer and problem was fixed. Hopefully this helps dude!
HEY ITS CONOR MCGREGOR! LOVE HOW YOU FIGHT BROTHER....LOL
I'm thinkin the vibration in the driveline, probly driveshaft is causeing some power loss... but would still love to see another 6.4L Ford Cummins swap after watching Westen Champlin do his, I do worry that you might be a bit in over your head with swapping a truck powertrain, but would watch it I would vote for compound turbos and a 2nd gen cummins rather then a 1st Gen
I have the same shifter in my 2003 S10 along with the LikeWise extension kit! I love it!
the dude even filmed for you what a legend
Dude yes! The Subaru!!!! Iv been waiting to find someone working on one on yt! I have 3 Subaru’s myself and a saab so I’m always dealing with issues lol love the damn things tho man Iv never been left stranded in a Subaru. Been stranded in the saab tho lmfao
A tip a mate gave me about vibrations in auto cars is to check of you're torque converter was put in rotated 180°, if not check if your engine is off balance
Find a new mate
As a truck/ trailer mechanic I recomend getting extension for ur valve steams so u can air the up the daully tires easier
I am not a big fan of big inch wheels on cars or trucks but for some reason those Semi wheels look good on that Ford.
Spikes are sick asf
That vibration is normally caused by the front axle if it’s 4x4. It helps to add stabilizers to the front axle
Great content once again! P-pump a 24 valve and stick it in a super duty. Better yet, pull from a medium duty with a 8 or 10 speed manual
Check you transmision mount I know in jeep the mount being worn will cause vibrations!
Or you could just pour a couple hundred plastic BBs in the tire and it’ll work just as good. But a sponsorship is a sponsorship.
My only concern would be added road noise as the BB's rotate. Other than that if it take the annoying wobble out of the steering it sounds like a bad ass product
We have balance beeds in Australia, go inside the tyre.
loved the vid man, keep killin it my dude
Keep this truck. And do what you have planed.
Hey Taylor, you should look into getting a F650 truck. That would probably be your only option as far as a truck that can haul your trailer. Just a thought
Love how Taylor has this dude recording lol
