Kirk As I often get myself into these situations I didn't know if it was going to work. But those tiny little threads don't require the removal of very much material so nothing bad happened and I think it should work long term without issues. Thank you! Barry
I wanted to be longer, your work is so enjoyable and inspirational that I would watch any 2 hours video you put out there...congrats on the progress it is looking fantastic!
Chugaaa Very kind of you to say that. I don't know why but in my head 20 minutes is my preferred duration. maybe because that is a time frame that is easy for my to watch. Thanks again! Barry
I was expecting you to put your electronics in the 'box'. Radios and such do well up there. Nice job, I admire your finishing patience, something I lack.
Hi Mr. Luke, The boat is looking great and the electronics box came out perfect, I would to see you start using wax paste as a releaser, is one we used a lot is call Partall Paste #2 is a green wax paste that will help you a lot and save you time and worries, also same company makes a liquid call PVA for short that you can spray or brush. Good job, Frank
Frank Thank you for commenting on the release agents. If I ever start a new substantial glass project I will look into these products. But You may have just witnessed the last glass work I will ever do. Anyway, thanks for watching! Barry
Nathaniel I have a couple of fin rollers and do use them but not enough. I have had issues in the past with our summertime temps and quick setting resin and spending valuable time trying to keep the in roller clean that has caused issues. No excuse really but I am sticking with it. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Barry
Fish Thanks but master might be a stretch. I get by. Got a pour scheduled next week, maybe I can grab a little footage. I will check out using magnets. Thanks Barry
@@barrylukebuilds7894 The great thing with magnets is the same magnet can hold the door up too or use a metal tab(s) on the door and magnets on the box and T top to hold the door closed and open.
I can't understand how you put epoxy over uncurred polyester ? Since you are using laminating polyester resin(no wax) . Wouldnt gelcoat with wax or PVA be the item to use over uncurred poly? Then paint it with epoxy paint if that is what you want? I must be missing something here?
Bill Maybe a long long time age some old dude made an object out of resin and used PVA as a curing agent. His friends all told him he was doing it wrong and he responded "but I have lots of this stuff, it's free and it works". You are not missing any thing, really. I like simplicity. I use laminating resin to build with and certain epoxies to transform the slightly sticky surface into a hard sand able surface. My goal is not to coat the surface with epoxy paint but to have a surface I can work with. Not all epoxies work, it is important to do tests. Most of the epoxies I use I get for free from my coating contractor friend, as of yet nobody has given me any free gelcoat. Thanks for watching and thanks for commenting. Barry
Electronics Box! I knew that but the correct words often elude me, especially when filming. Pretty sure we are going with the wider black vinyl version that is so common. Thanks for watching! Barry
Great video! I never would have thought to drill and tap the holes in the the plexiglass door, genius!

The VHS will absolutely live in the "box".
Thanks and thanks for watching

Barry, You do nice work. Magnets latches with a silicone bead, or rubber seal might work on a little hatch like that.
Kyle
Thank you!
Been looking into magnets
Barry
Barry, you have the right to Bragg a bit. That boat is looking awesome
Thank you Paul and thanks for watching!
Barry
Looks great! In industry they use those little rubber friction latches to keep them closed. Or a little key lock.
Thanks Kevin. I will need to do a little research on these things.
Barry
it's looking great Mr Barry
Romario
Thank you!
Barry
Could you use rare earth magnets as a latch? As always, great work
Trent
Thanks for watching and thanks for the tip. Magnets might be the answer.
Barry
Looking good!
Thanks!
Barry, have you tried using a fin roller to roll out the air bubbles? It may be what you need to get rid of those pesky bubbles alot easier.
Nathaniel

Barry, you're a master of glass work. +1 for a magnetic latch. Was that a teaser for a bronze pour vid? :-)
Fish

Thanks

Hey Barry
You say your videos get too long
I say your videos are not long enough😅
I'm waiting for the next one
Take care

Gday mate,
How tall will she be on the trailer?
Good question! I will check it out and let you know.
Barry
You can tell your son that one of your followers is in E City.☺
Dale
Wow, I will let him know. His little Fearing St home has sold and in less than three weeks he will be heading South!
Thanks for watching.
Barry
Hey Barry most guys call the box your building a electronics box .
Damn Barry I finished the video , she is going to look fine sailing down the bayou!! Have you decided on a rub rail yet??
