I've had my m4 since 2016 , has a stage 2 tune full exhaust, between 550 to 600 hp... no cods , limp mode...absolutely flawless reliability... spun crank hub exaggerated!!! I have 70k miles no issues
@卍TBallz The m cars are great, but if you dog it out or drive crazy, missing shifts or shifting into the wrong gear your asking for trouble, most of these guys run e85, which is a very aggressive tune, ( that's how it makes the power!! You can run more timing etc because the e85 burns like 100+ octane
Outstanding reviews, great info and detailes, man, you know your M machines , my new m4 arrives this week, can’t wait to experience my first M car... Best regards from USA
Has there ever been an M-car without an issue? It seems bearings, subframe damage, spun hubs, etc...seem to be gremlins that haunt these cars. Hope my B58 engined M240i is relatively problem free.
Crank hub spin seems to be catastrophic to the engine. And it seems that BMW are doing everything they can to avoid warranty claims. It seems that it's a design flaw, and one that third parties are struggling to solve. Problem is that as the car goes out of warranty there's no obligation on BMW to repair these. No matter how careful you are with the M3 / M4, this could happen. And when it does it's absolutely devastating to the car. I've been burnt by BMW in the UK when their service departments had multiple attempts to fix my car, and then proposed work which was more valuable than the car. Worse, the works would have been covered in the USA for a car with the same parts fitted. So my trust in BMW is about zero. Maybe less.
I heard E60 M5s had faults which would completely kill the engine with faulty injectors that fill cylinders with fuel. It seems that even though BMW have sold these cars at a premium, and made profits to match, they simply won't stand by their product. They won't support their customers even though owners have done nothing wrong. I'm sure it's only a small number who have this problem, and they'd certainly do wonders for their reputation if they updated those engines to protect them from design flaws. If it was a story where BMW had these issues and fixed them for their customers it would play out completely different from leaving owners high and dry. Sadly the bean counters at BMW don't believe in preserving their quality brand's reputation and now they have quite a different one. In fact, do searches for reliability and BMW are surprisingly very far down the list. BMW is no longer a quality brand. Obviously I'll never buy another BMW.
Thanks for the video my 2014 m4 Austin yellow goes off plan next year ,it only has 11k km , I was contemplating trading in on the m2 competition but after watching your video I decided not too , I think some wheels and exhaust with down pipes will be an awesome gift to my beauty once plan is out
I agree with you s55 is a strong power plant, i have mine since 2015 with manual never had any problems, also have 2 s54 amazing cars and few others.... This cars are as good as You are per say, you keep up with basic maintenance this cars will last for ever. Very good cars fun and extremly fun
Wait don't say it's reliable I ve owned one m3 with s55 I've only experience trouble with it I maintain it I put I lot of money on it with 36k miles on it I sold it few month later
lots of vehicles have little bugs here and there even with the "reliable brands" go for what you like and gives you the experince you want that will outweigh everything else
Just avoid the true BMW M-cars. Too $$$, harsh and haunted with issues. Everything else BMW makes seems to be fine. More $$$ than a Toyota to buy/service, but not horrendous like a Porsche.
I got so much love for m4 that crank hub issue it will make me loose my sleep..and from the time 2017 c63 is the same price used it brakes my nerves to choose
The crankhub issue has been around for what like 3 years now? Dont know what to think of it but imo if you drive it normally in not abusive way it should be good. From what i hear the issue is happening to people that have them boosted to insane levels....and 99% seems to be dct cars. Im not worried though but bmw has done some suspect cost cutting stuff in the last few years. The bangel years were riddled with issues then they had to step up their game with f10 and f80 and now it seems again that theyre doin some cheap cost cutting on all their cars. I have a feeling 2015-2017 m4s are alot more reliable than newer ones.
Bmws are not A to B vehicles and majority of the owners would buy them just to satisfy their racing desires so It’s not surprising to see why all bmws break down so quickly. Bmws should be the second car of the house and to be driven only at weekends and to be sold when they hit 50k
Alright, I have exactly the same car as the one you see in the video, just without the individual colour, mines white, and a lot of what’s being said here is just BS. I’m sorry if you’re disappointed or angry because of my comment. I’m a Beamer head, I love BMW. It this car is not reliable. The B55 engines are known to be problematic, always showing drivetrain malfunctions etc. endless issues that BMW has not addressed, reason why there’s only one recall, they are not addressing them, rather opting to “fix” them, for them to only show up after a few months. As I’m typing this my car is at BMW LMG Zambesi in South Africa, my car hasn’t even reached 20k km but I have an issue already. I’ve never launched my car, I’ve never drifted, I’ve never turned off traction, I’ve been behaving and trying to get it to last as long as possible, but I still came across the same problem that people who tune the car face. Not saying don’t buy the car or don’t love it because when it is running well it’s absolutely great and is a pleasure to drive, all I’m saying is don’t be shocked when you come across issues non-stop as this is a growing trend with BMW cars.
😂😂😂😂 well I don't know Thay .I had a lot of m cars from 1996 and never had any big problems 😂😂 so I can't say I'm agree with you.. More idiot owner's who don't change oil or do service:)

I commented on another one of your videos about whether or not I should buy an M4, and after seeing this video, I think I'll go ahead an buy one
Very cool cars

Thanks a lot for watching. Enjoy your new car, they are amazing machine.

Heard awesome things about the b58 and s58. How is it?

WOW ! And people thought that the E60 M5 had it bad. Thanks for the writeup.

What year is your m4? Manual or dct? Also what mods does it have?
The crank hub is not always catastrophic
Sorry to hear that, you must be the unlucky few. Buy a lottery, you might win.
2015 M4 here, 45k miles, No issues :) knock on the trim... one of the most reliable cars I owned ...
I have the same car. No issues. 55k miles.
same. 46k miles. Bulletproof
@@SuperHogwart i sold mine a week ago at 50k got GTR 😂 project financial disaster.
@@StreetDrivenDaily ahh bummer! good luck with it man
Important to add that new B58 and S58 engines does have integrated crank hub's
Does this mean they don't have crank hub issues or they do
My wallet is unreliable it cant afford m4
2019 bmw m4 w/ 4.5k miles. no issues :3
They are great cars either way. Yours does have very few miles

Why not extend it for that money lol that's so dumb to put more into the car without protecting it under an extended warranty.

The “new” twin turbo inline 6 has been in service for over decades. They used to put it on the e30. That’s why it’s bullet proof
E30 was 4 cylinder e46 was inline 6
You have been doing this for a while
Mine has differential leak due to a failed seal. 2017 M4 Comp. seems fairly common fault on these.
Thanks for sharing Matt. I suppose as time rolls on, we will see more issues. Cheers.
Did this cause differential lock reduced light to cone on im having that light now.
@@Reefbally it didn’t for me, I had no error lights relating to the issue. Just a small but increasing spot of oil on my driveway
@@mattconnor8258 i currently have a 2018 M3 and I have the same issue. No lights or codes. Just drops of oil on the ground.
How do you adjust the steering wheel on a 2017 M4? Can’t seem to find the buttons or lever
I love the BMW’s but I lm nervous to own one because of the problems they bring

Brenden Velez money 💰 will solve your worries.
@@410jman23 little bugs..you call a 4000 euro damage a little bug?
To ease my my mind I’m going to replace mine (2015 M4 catless downpipe stage 2 tune)

Do they come in men’s colors?
I got so much love for m4 that crank hub issue it will make me loose my sleep..and from the time 2017 c63 is the same price used it brakes my nerves to choose
Crank HUB is an reoccurring issue that messes up and the apple car play is a major issue for sure
Thanks!
You are welcome. Many more great M4 videos to follow.
What was the intro song?

It's random. No connection to the dct. It happens on stock cars as well
I have a late 2015 boosted and tracked many times. Never missed a beat except running out of fuel on track lol
Awesome 😃 👍 2018 BMW m4 review
i just got my m3 f80 2015 sos malfunction ..will take to dealer soon
How did it happen ?
İ have a 2018 European M4 does the crank hub issues occur on 2018 engines too?
Gorkem li It does rarely on all platforms. Just try not to upgrade your turbos or run an E85 tune.

Its not actually a problem unless you tune it.🇹🇷
