Juder at around 50-60 mph under hard acceleration? Shot break pads? Strong smell of smoke and spunk inside? Drilled and groved breaks with a high clutch with 2 knackered wing mirrors? There's been some good memories in that car. Take care of her! My mates old en not mine. He sold it with my cig lighter adapter the knob!
I think I'm gonna pick one of these up next week, I had an ep3 a few years back and loved it, only kept it for 6 months and then bought an E90 330d which was a good car but the car I have now is a 2006 e60 535d and its a fucking money pot, already had new injectors, glow plugs and new intercooler pipes and vacuum hoses with a full mot to now find out the gearbox is shot! So I'm gonna shoot it out cheap as I'm sick of it, and get a hassle free fn2 for a bit, cool channel 👍
Thanks for the comments.👍👍 Your rite tho, them 3 series are getting very long in the tooth now and can certainly be problems, ive experienced that first hand. Im sure you will enjoy the fn2.
Just paid £5900 for my black 07 fn2, they are still pretty expensive here in london, it does have 54,000 miles though and it's pretty much mint just needs a machine polish. Great cars and great advice!
Great cars these, with the back seats flat their van like. Bullet proof too. Everyone spunking their load over the EP3 keeps these gems cheap. They break for parts very well too, engine alone sells for 💷 and everyone wants the kit, interior, wheels and front end in general.
The EP3 handled better, less kerb weight and had better build quality. Of course they are going to be rustier in general and in a worse condition, they are older cars. I wouldn't buy one now unless I had good money and might even go down the import route: EK9, FD2 or Integra Type-R, with guarantees of course. The FN2's all look like jellymoulds the whole range of them, there is nothing iconic about them, they don't stand out like an EP3 Type-R. Spending £2k+ on a car that is going to have a number of expensive potential issues at 120k miles, including door handles, wing mirrors, suspension, starter motor, water pump and braking system isn't for me. You won't get a sporty car that cheap, it costs you in repairs unless you do all the work yourself. The only thing that is bullet proof is the engine, popular misconception about Honda.
@@frankspencer6935 very long winded reply buddy... the ep3 doesnt handle better. Out the box the fn2 is a better handling car i have owned a lot of both... car is now sold by us and in great working order, got to be positive and not over analyse when your fishing in the bargain bucket. Each to their own tho, when you mention fd2 and ek9 were talking 8-15k slightly different ball game for most people who are looking into 2k cars, hence why the video was made, it carries the famous engine, handles well, has comfort, good car for its cost either way. I had the same car - only wasnt type R, but 1.8 i-vtec petrol, best car i ever had, by any means. If You "get connected" with the car, You will get so much back from it! Its an engineering miracle for the price. Its not the greatest accelerator, but still its a "very very very fast car", its not just about acceleration seconds! Feels like engine is central positioned, non-existent so to say, cornering and handling sharp is superb! Things i could do with the handbreak at winter and slippery conditions with this car, hard to forget! I could spin that car with handbrake in the first gear for 180 degrees on dry asfalt! Some curves i went trough and at what speeds, hard to beleave still, from a car at this "market class/group and price point" so to say. At the time i bought it on second hand market, it was 3-4 years old model, so type R was too expensive for me. Now is the moment to own one! For me, even today in 2021, still the best looking car in its class and all hatchbacks ever made, even compared to newer Hondas too! And its built in the UK yaay!!!
