This was the outro music for "Chamber Theater," in the 1980's, a local Friday night horror movie show in the Norfolk, VA area. It was hosted by a man in costume known as "The Creeper of the Chamber," and was full of corny humor and gags during commercial breaks. Good times.
They're both good but the original is better mainly because of how the song fades out and picks up again which best describes the part in the story where he killed the old man, thought everything was cool and then heard the old man's heart beating. The remake takes away from that part due to adding too much instrumental.

a Fantastic song
Great! This is the original not the 1987 remix abomination.
