I was always wondering who left those threatening messages on the walls in video games.
Guess it was Brad all along.
no no die just means the in german (der/die/das). he was going to write something but suddenly remembered that he still had an egg sandwich left in his fridge
We missed you, keep crushing it bro!
Thanks Steven. Been a little bit uninspired recently. I feel some of that desire to make videos coming back after using PSVR 2 though.. I am sure the hardware review will be fun... xd
@@SadlyItsBradley please, please don’t be disheartened or uninspired, we support and love you!!! You do all this for us and we all appreciate you!! Please continue the great work!!!

It's probably not gonna happen, but I really hope this gets ported to pc
@@ericbazinga Different VR API(s) on top of a different platform might be too much of an investment. In the past I've seen PC-only VR devs complain about trying to keep up with supporting the different control methods people use even with 1st gen VR I can only imagine trying to support all of the hardware that's out now. Huge props to them if they do it.
@@fkknsikk I think it's gotten better in the last few years. I don't know about Playstation, but I think everyone else has basically moved to openXR as the api.
@@fkknsikk Youre sure its different? I cant imagine developing VR games for playstation is gonna be very popular if you cant use openXR
This looks very impressive indeed, but the barrier of getting both a PS5 and a VR HMD is a bit too steep for me.
Cheaper than a pc and a headset 🤷♂️but i guess that does come with a trade off with customisability
@@harryos4006 I already had a PC before getting into VR, so in that sense the PCVR path is cheaper.
I started using VR hardware back in 2016, so I've just been gradually upgrading my PC over the years, but the PS5 didn't even exist yet back then.
Love your content, keep up the great work!!
one thing i heard listening to impressions was how impresive just the act of pushing around foliage and feeling it (kind of) through the haptics is. it doesnt entirely come across through video but man id like to try it.
Ok, you gotta be fucking kidding me with this dynamic lighting. It's been around for 20 YEARS!
I’m having the time of my life with the PSVR2.
I have honestly not had this much fun with a VR headset ever. Already used the DK2, CV1, Quest, Quest2, PICO4.
It was designed for me, I mean at my IPD (68.5), my vertical FOV is completely saturated.
It’s comfy, never fogged up. Completely dark and bright as daylight, it handles it all.
Only downside is Mura, but you get past it fast when in game, just like the Quest1.
I don’t wear glasses and I’m able to bring the lenses super close, feels like wearing transparent glasses.
So happy
I do really want to play this. Not enough to lay out the £1100 I'd need for a PS5 and PSVR2 but still quite a lot.
I don't know the legality of Luke Ross hacking this to work on PCVR but I would sure love if he managed it ...
That's the unfortunate reality of the PSVR2 right there. This incredible piece of hardware is more than likely going to commercially fail because it just checks all the wrong boxes for the kind of product it is. VR is already expensive as hell, and by making the PSVR2 not only exclusive to the PS5 but ALSO not even backwards compatible with the old PSVR, you've taken the already existing problem of too few games and made it exponentially worse.
@@mittensbro There are more than 40 launch titles for PSVR2. The game library is not a problem. If devs consistently release games for PSVR2, than you will see more and more sales of PSVR2. I think backwards compatibility was a good choice b/c PSVR1 was pretty terrible.
Sometimes in life, we have to admit when something is not for us and still be able to accept that it could be good.
@@mittensbro It's the US economy. Inflation is happening rapidly day by day. The whole country is crashing, not just VR.
@@ShiYuMeng2 I'm not saying it's not good, in fact I would really like to have one IF it wasn't chained to the PS5. The problem is that, as is the case with most games, players are really only ever going to want to play maybe a quarter, usually more like less than 10% of any given game library because the rest of that library doesn't appeal to them for various reasons. As an example, I play a ton of games, but I never play strategy or fighting games because those don't appeal to me. I knew how many launch titles the PSVR2 had when I wrote that initial post, and knowing the number doesn't change my opinion.
Moreover, the game library is only part of the equation-you're leaving out the ~$1,100 price tag associated just with GETTING a PSVR2. What I'm saying is that that small pool of games plus a hefty price-tag is going to mean that most people aren't going to want to invest in a PSVR2 because it just doesn't make sense for them to do so, and that's going to result in the PSVR2 commercially failing. Not to mention, like jajajagia said, the entire U.S. economy is crashing anyway, so most people aren't going to have enough money to purchase one even if they wanted to.
The end result here is that Sony is probably going to see VR as a failed experiment and then ditch it for another five to ten years or more. It's a sad reality, but that seems to be the way the wind is blowing.
@@mittensbro PSVR2 does not cost $1,1K USD. The retail price is $550 USD. Just like the Valve Index retail price is $999 USD. When you quote the valve index price, do you also include the price of the powerful gaming PC required? Internet costs? Building/Rent needed for the space?
The audiance for the PSVR2 is PS5 owners. That is why it is PS5 only. If it brings in more sales for the PS5, that is a bonus but I don't think Sony is expecting this. They designed the PSVR2 for the PS5 expecting the established PS5 owner base will purchase it. How many will do so is anyone's guess.
As for the Global Economy, it is crazy everywhere as that is the design of the system. Massive layoffs around the world to put the working class in check, they do this in cycles and this is business as usual.
Sony obviously didn't think the PSVR 1 was a failed experiment. They went ahead and developed version 2. So Sony must believe it was worth their time and effort. I suspect that more PSVR2 AAA games will come out this year.
Overall, PSVR2 is great for VR. I wish I had the money because I would probably at least buy the HMD+controls and try to get it working on the Open Source VR Ecosystem called Monado + OpenXR.
I just launched HL Alyx, Kayak VR, Google Earth VR after a long time, even on an original Vive the visuals are amazing.
I played VRChat so much I forgot how optimized realistic VR can look !
Using Quest 2 for the first time developing VR experience, the screen door effect/readability of text is so much better but I didn't expect the narrow binocular overlap to be so immersion breaking.
PSVR2 seems so good with 2k oled screens ! Please try plugging it to a PC like the Verge, I would like to see the barrel distortion and chromatic aberrations. (Could it work like portable monitor glasses or not)
Thanks you for all your XR coverage Bradley :)
Can't wait for this to come out on PC in five years!
@@hamzaamir2512 you do realize vr games and pc games get ported to various systems right? Horizon zero dawn got ported to pc 5 years after it was on ps4. it's likely in 5 years this new games will get ported to PCVR.
I did find with Call of the Mountain , turning the brightness down to half seems to bring a more natural look , and little less vivid and more detailed.
That is cool. Too bad people are saying the mura spots are so noticeable that it looks like screen door effect. Among other visual issues.
Mura is strong. Yes. However, I feel the hardware is still pretty good.
That's a real shame. I wonder why, if they knew mura was going to be an issue, they don't just take a few pictures of the screen and compensate in software?
@@Cazanu417 Vaseline? Mura has nothing to do with a blurry image... I think you're confused.
@@SadlyItsBradley the mura on mine is barely noticeable, though my PSVR1 had it bad, but I reduced it dramatically by stimulating the pixels with flashing colours for hours, Dunno if it will work for this type of display though.
The... the WHAT?!?!? But seriously, that apple in the basket lid is very cool. Though I did want the basket that you dropped the torch into to burst into flames.
Most beautiful game on PS5!
Looks like fun to me! I hope more games add this stuff. When the world feels full of things to do, it's a great feeling. Could you throw the apple right off the edge and watch it fall?
Do you have noticed motion blur in the PSVR2?
What is the deal with the physics demo 2 part? There is a stick knocking on a door and then falling and clipping through a hole? Wjat did I miss?
Loving this game. The mura is only there if you really look for it. It looks amazing. So bright and colorful and the gameplay is great too.
Bouncing the apple is what’s really impressive to me. Idk if my pc is too low powered and I’m not having enough frames to work with but juggling and tossing stuff feels like a gamble with most games (pcvr wireless on quest 2) it’s either that or this shows a big benefit to wired
Man I wish this wasn't PlayStation exclusive. Not going to buy a ps5 just for one game though
You take the good. You take the bad. You take them both. And there you have the facts of life.
The facts of life.
Unless you're in the space-ninja hacker mafia, in which case: they gonna jailbreak this mofo
They should definitely make dlc for this game.
4K recording ftw
Help me Brad! The quest pro has spoiled me to the point where it's so hard to play call of the mountain what should I do?
Good
"My Client was clearly saying "The, Bart, the."
Looks great, in both a thumbnail and fullscreen. Could do without the reprojection, but hopefully they'll keep the library going.
Touching grass is cringe, but virtually it's different.
Haven’t got a PSVR2, nor do I intend to get one soon since i don’t own a PS5 and i’m buying a gaming PC to play PCVR (and other flatscreen games that can’t run well on my potato) but this really looks like a Half Life Alyx tier game for PS5. i’ve heard most of the game is climbing and that does sound a little disappointing, but the level of detail in this game seems to be well worth the price
if it ever comes to PC I might check it out. I doubt it will due to it being marketed as a PSVR exclusive, but who knows? sony’s been porting their exclusives to PC recently, maybe one day they’ll do it for this
This is cool and all, but where decard?
Good VR.
Hate to say it but if Sony has more exclusives like this I’ll probably cave and get a PS5 and VR2

You think this game will ever come to PC???
Triple AAA buddy! Ahhhh ya!
finally a console VR game with polish.
And Sony has enough clout with big devs to nudge the ones who have been avoiding VR into the market. Something Meta lacks.
If the Sony Yakuza leaned on Square to adapt a Tactics Ogre or Octopath Traveler to a VR diorama-style port, I bet they would do it.
Looks very Half Life-ie.
Great. That's the standard to match and beat.
I think PlayStation have done great work on VR.
Neat tech demo
@Kayra Erdem it’s literally a climbing simulator with a couple on rails combat sequences. A tech demo
I would get the psvr2 headset so quick if only they made it pcvr compatible. It’s a lot of money to be so severely software limited.
I want to buy and play this game but I don’t want to only try things Sony authorized.
Glad you are enjoying it... if this amazes you, just wait for Alyx Half Life to be released on PS5. (Played that on my quest2 via PC 2+ years ago) now that game has the best graphics and physics ever....
I'd say this game is just as good, most likely because they actually took note from Half-Life Alyx and decided to follow what Valve did right and now it's gonna be the new standard for AAA VR games (I hope)
Makes me sad that it might be a while before I can get a psvr2
Looks a bit like HalfLifeAlex/BoneWorks-Bonelab for Babies.
Not gonna lie. Kinda disappointed that the basked and then the house did not burn after putting the torch in it.
fair. you can burn your hand with the torch though. should have shown that as consolation prize

落伍的psvr2
All nice but I am not going to dump $1000+ for a system that only has one current exclusive and no backwards compatibility with V1 titles.
Looks like a game made by a dev who played modded SkyrimVR
It's both cool and a bit sad to see how much the UA-cam hype wagon took off with the PSVR2 release. It puts into sharp contrast how dead and stagnant VR had become until it's release. I hope it does really well and injects much needed life back into VR, but I fear it won't be able to. Anyone other than existing PS5 owners or hardcore VR peeps will skip it due to price. That's a small market now.
I feel like they really missed the shot with PSVR2 not having an ability to double as a PCVR headset. From what I read and heard, the headset itself is really good so I can imagine a lot of people on the PCVR side would consider it for their PCVR headset of choice. Especially if you also own a PS5, that would be almost a no-brainer, if it worked.
If PS VR2 is enabled for Steam VR, I'll probably get it. Will probably happen once the Quest 3 is launched
Playstation has subsidized the headseat meaning they are selling it at a loss. They're relying on their game sales to recoup that lost money. So unless playstation adds their own game store to PC like what oculus did, there's no chance it will ever be PC compatible.
@@michaelcurtis7156 I don"t think they are selling it at a loss. BOM cost is $300-$400
@@JBrinx18 Really? I haven't looked into it in a while but months ago is was reportedly well over $500. Either way I doubt it will happen, this is Sony after all.
@@michaelcurtis7156 I wonder. If Sony ports their first party games over, and then label it with "works best on PS VR2," they could still tie some sales together. But yeah, we'll see what they decide to do
the game has very constrained and sterile gameplay, it is quite possible that it was taken into account that children could play, but this constrains the set of movements and limits improvisation in battles with enemies.
I can't spend another $1k for one game 😢😢 My wallet is crying itself to sleep
PSVR 1: lets push skyrim VR, DOOM, Fallout, and Borderlands and get backlash that they were not optimized for VR..
