I was a young mother of two very small kids. When we went on trips, we'd play the AP cassette tapes. They grew up with brains that worked, and still do.
9 years old, in the back of a Chevy station wagon. There's a few songs from this particular time that I love to listen to, every now and then. This is one of them.
Sadly, for me, it's been more than one friend, and several Toxic family members; Even a brother who had been a shadow when we were kids. We did everything together. Then one day, he's screaming at me like I'm a dog. I just walked out. I'm done! I wouldn't take that from anyone.
It's about the deep state, aka cabal, aka Illuminati, aka Freemasonry, aka invisible government, aka shadow government, aka 13 families, aka Club of Rome, etc. Of course, they can make rules to deal with ignorant fools who are willing to believe in nonsenses ie. fake history, fake science, fake news, fake textbooks, etc. Yes, it is a terrible time to live in when we realise some of these evil bloodsucking leeches are continuing to blind the public while controlling our every behaviour to suit their evil needs.
My High School boyfriend loved this band...he used to like to go for a drive and always play" Alan Parsons Project" He died at age 51...RIP David...........

My cat passed away a few days ago. He was a sweet boy called Howard who exuded love. I took him in as a stray and he had a burn on top of his head. When the fur grew back he had a black dot on his head. My Chinese neighbours loved him and would call him ‘天眼’ (roughly ‘tianyan’)which translates to ‘sky eye’ and google gives ‘eye of heaven’. I have loved this song for many years and now it is doubly important to me. I wish the guitar solo at the end didn’t fade out!!!!
Sorry to hear about Howard. Cats and especially a stray can be amazing. I lost mine too last summer. Awful. Anyway good song although melancholy. Do a deep dive for a longer outro solo. It's out there. Peace to you.
Big hugs! You are not alone! My dog passed away yesterday and that song just popped up in my head and thought the eye in the sky is my Yeti watching us now!
I felt that. My cat passed away November 1st last year. The night before, he was still jumping up on my bathroom sinkand wanting me to turn the water on. I had no idea that was coming so soon, only that he had a heart problem I had to give him medication for. Not a day goes by, I don't miss him. He was my boy 💔.
my son has autism he really enjoys music. He can tell you every song and who by and when it was new.. love having adult son whos so smart living with his conditon music helps him soo much.
This could be a stretch, but I think there's a connection between ADHD and/or autism and having an immense interest and knowledge in music, as someone with both neurological conditions. I take interests in not only the decade / year and album / EP a song came from, because I also take interest in the genres. I also know some theory, and it helps out a lot with making music.
STILL a great song 40 years later. I remember when it was released, first time I heard it, everything. Even that first time, in my car on the radio, I instinctively turned up the radio. I knew it was going to be good! I wasn't disappointed. I still know every word! It's timeless.
Same dude, this was in his pile of cds, I found out later that my mom was more into it than he was which was a great bonding moment between her and I. Funny enough my parents were both having problems with each other and so I told my dad to listen to this album again. He told me afterwards that it narrated exactly what they were going through. Alan Parsons project goes deep
This song is one of my earliest firm memories. I was born in 1977. My brother and I had a little radio in our shared bedroom, and our dad would tune into Y-100 out of Daytona Beach before bed every night. Alan Parsons Project, John Cougar Mellencamp, Taco (Puttin’ on the Ritz), ABBA, Steve Miller Band, Survivor, Christopher Cross, The Go-Go’s, Juice Newton… I would lay there, almost holding my breath so I could hear every note. That little transistor radio planted some very big seeds in my little head. Like many of you, I was SO fortunate to have spent my formative years in an era when the musicians on the radio still had legitimate talent.
I don't recall having a transistor radio , but a regular one. I wish more stations would play their music. Musicians pretty much have to tour if they're going to make money. Some years ago, I heard that artists weren't getting paid what they should have been for downloaded music, and many artists fought back. I don't know if the original members of The Alan Parsons Project are touring, but I believe they are still creating new songs, maybe in hopes of appealing to a younger audience. I think. that for every dollar paid to download a song, they get maybe 10%, perhaps a little more. I could be wrong, but I think Napster was responsible for this. I could have been another site. I think many artists are getting ripped, unless these artists have sued for what they're worth.
remember back then when we had little 'cassette recorders within our small radios, and we tried to record the songs we liked when they came on the radio ? i always seemed to only get parts of them lol, there was no pause or rewind ---- ahhh the good old days
Born 1978 my parents divorced in 82 when this was out. My mom always had a radio playing in the kitchen and this song and CSN Southern cross was always playing. These songs were in my earliest memories I'll never forget it
This is easily one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. I’m 25 and I discovered it by hearing it at the supermarket. Sounded great, but when I listened to it with some proper headphones it blew me away, and now I can’t stop. Absolute masterpiece!
Agree.. i first heard it in early 2011... out on Long Island when I was visiting.. i heard it at a Mc Donalds and years went by until i found out which group wrote it.
The first time I listened to this song was when my boss, Mr. Steeve Land, played it out of office time. I liked this song, and later, I purchased a Cassette tape titled "Alan Parsons Project." After 42 years, it's still in my heart-my boss and the song.
The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky (1982) Lyrics: July 17, 2021 Don't think sorry's easily said Don't try, turnin' tables instead You've taken lots of chances before But I ain't gonna give anymore Don't ask me That's how it goes 'Cause part of me knows what you're thinkin' Don't say words you're gonna regret Don't let the fire rush to your head I've heard the accusation before And I ain't gonna take any more Believe me The sun in your eyes Made some of the lies worth believing I am the eye in the sky, looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more To know that I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind Don't leave false illusion behind Don't cry, I ain't changing my mind So find another fool like before 'Cause I ain't gonna live anymore Believing Some of the lies When all of the signs are deceiving I am the eye in the sky, looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more To know that I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind I am the eye in the sky, looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more To know that I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind (looking at you) I can read your mind... Writer(s): Alan Parsons, Eric Woolfso
What a wonderful song, time passes us by but songs stay in our memory, no one can take that away, we go back in time, pretend we are there, and it works. The human brain gives us joy, hold onto it, and enjoy all our musical memories.
Don't think sorry's easily said Don't try turning tables instead You've taken lots of chances before But I ain't gonna give any more Don't ask me That's how it goes Cause part of me knows what you're thinking Don't say words you're gonna regret Don't let the fire rush to your head I've heard the accusation before And I ain't gonna take any more Believe me The sun in your eyes Made some of the lies worth believing I am the eye in the sky Looking at you i can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more To know that I can read your mind, I can read your mind Don't leave false illusions behind Don't cry cause I ain't changing my mind So find another fool like before Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing Some of the lies while all of the sings are deceiving I am the eye in the sky...
I was in 3rd grade, sharing a bedroom with my uncle, and listening to this on my bunkbed, and just chilling. now, in 3rd grade, the meaning is a little different. It conjures an image of a floating eyeball that obviously has a higher intelligence, and is stealthy...kinda like D&D Creature...lol!
Such a great song! One of the best lyric lines in musical history - "the sun in your eyes makes some of your lies worth believing" A tribute to the self-delusions of love.
Had to cut off my best friend entirely because she was leading me down a dark path. That line always makes me think of her. Still love her, just know that I can’t be around her. Breaks my heart.
1982-3 in Colorado. The woman I should have married and I loved this song -- played it in the car almost every day on the way home from classes. I still tear up at the line "The sun in your eyes made some of the lies worth believing". A magical song at a magical time.
@@guillermo3947 Thanks Heidi and Guillermo. Nothing bad happened to either of us over time -- just the usual ups-and-downs. We made a stupid decision to break up because of two conflicting overseas careers. She is well. It was simply a terrible short-term decision that both of us felt very conflicted about but did anyway because we were scared and thinking too much about work futures. I think she and I would both agree that neither of us have ever been looked at the way we looked at each other.

Used to put on this cassette to fall asleep to. Very soothing! Sirius is such an amazing intro. I actually clicked this vid hoping Sirius would be included. :)
Brings me back to my childhood - dad is driving the car at sunset, mom is by his side, and me and my sister at the back just enjoying the scenery with the cool air at full blast and this playing on the radio. Now that my parents are no longer around, and my sister busy with her life, onlg the memory remains...
Can I please give you a suggestion? Make new memories. My parents are gone now, my dad 6 years ago, but my mom died in 1997. The same year in which Lady Diana, Mother Theresa and John Denver passed. Diana's funeral brought back all the raw pain. I was 34. But such is life and it will get sucher and sucher. Seriously: your whole life is built around all kind of memories. You sound so...desperate. The memories of your parents will always stay there. Make new ones to enjoy.
@@smoly37 Wow man... Lighten up. He was just expressing how precious that memory has become to him. After all, the world is nothing more than all the shiny things you've left behind.
Holy shit. I love classic rock and I don't know why I never checked out Alan Parsons project .. this is really good shit..very smooth. Well written tune
This masterpiece is... simply beautiful, the beat of it, is so relaxing and the harmony of the voices is very precious. The 80s had been, and still some part of the best in the music

Being 5 years of battling schizophrenia plus living my whole life with autism, and numerous other mental health disorders, god will always be there. To the people battling hardships in their lives right now, just keep reminding yourself things will get better and never give up. You got this and just know people love you. My love and prayers go out to you that are still fighting till this day forward.
I've always loved this song and I recently came to faith as a born again Christian. The way my life has changed over the last 1.5 years is just incredible. All in the name of Jesus, the love he can bring in to your life is unreal. I'm praying for every lost soul, that Jesus will come in to your life and He wil change your heart and desires, that He will bring peace. God bless you my friend!
@@leckerfrissianmoone6036 What does any of this god-bothering have to do with this song? It's not about any god, unless you think your god wants to "cheat you blind," as the lyrics say. I have no interest in some kind of deity changing my nature...that's authoritarianism at its worst, but I take comfort in knowing that this is merely a delusion. It would be horrifying if it was true.

This song touches my deepest heartaches and resolves them at the same time. "Don't cry, I ain't changing mind." It's an incredible song and I can't get enough of it.
At 50 years old, I still have this in my top 5 favorites of all time. It takes me back to ten years old, when I didn't understand what the lyrics meant but the music haunted me then and still does to this day.
It was the late 1982 or early 1983 when my neighbor (then in Southern Finland) found a C-tape in a snowbank. It had the letters "A.P.P." scribbled on the label. She gave it to me to find out what was on it, and that's when I first listened to Eye in the Sky. About a month passed until a friend of mine at school came across an article in a music magazine (ah the times before the Web) about The Alan Parsons Project and so the mystery of the "A.P.P." abbreviation was solved. Needless to say, the album is permanently etched in my mind and strongly associated with the 80's (and with my "former life" in Finland).
I grew up in the late 1970s, early 1980s and such. I remember so many incredible bands and songs that pretty much helped set the foundation for modern music - and this song is one that I have always remembered, mainly because of the unique rhythm and lyrics. I still ❤️ this one so much - this is real music that will last forever.
My most poignant memory of this song is driving back home with my ex after visiting our dear friend Chris who lived in Hinckley. He passed in 1997. Music is really a portal to your past memories.
I can't tell you how many times my dad cranked up his stereo with BOSE speakers on champagne stands & blew the neighbors into the next county 😆 miss him...RIP Dad 2017 ❤
Heh, im listening to this song right now on a set of Bose 601 II's on a Vector Research VR500. The bose were my uncles who died about 6 years ago, he stuck them in my great grandmother attack in the late 90s. I found them and refurbed them a few years ago.
@@TraciSeibert I'm thinking about you. I'm only 46 but ive lost so many loved ones. My baby brother being one of them, time stops moving after you lose so many it seems. And your just left waiting..
I'm a guy from India. I can say, most definitely, that this composition is one of the greatest. An absolute treat to my ears and by extension to my mind. Very simple melody, very simple musical lines for every instrument, and voice, it's the simplicity that makes it brilliant. And that my friends is the power of music.
Objectively, this is actually the best song. In most situations, it's a matter of taste, which is relative to each individual person, and it's not the case that one is legitimately BETTER than another, in a way that's independent of each listener's particular experience of it. But like any rule, there are exceptions and this is the exception, this song is literally the best song of all songs ever made.

UA-cam recommended me this while I was listening to other jams from the 80s. Makes me think how many masterpieces like this one are out there, just waiting to be found and listened to.
La verdad es que fue todo una pasada vivir la juventud en esa fecha ,si ,lo fueron, tengo muy gratos recuerdos mezclados con momentos de tristeza total, pero en general fueron momentos muy creativos.
This songs takes me back to the early 80’s. I’m in my bedroom, the stereo playing this song and my Mom is cooking dinner while my Dad and brother are watching tv. The 4 of us is just me now.💚
I love the actual music and not just the vocals in all of these, so many modern songs are incredibly focused on the vocals, while Alan Parsons' Project has instrumental pieces that include literally no vocals.
Used to listen to it with my mum as little girl in the car when life was hard and sad now listening with my husband and son on a beautiful sunday morning ❤ don’t give up, life is hard, a roller coaster, a curiosity but with hope it gets to magical flickering moment of bliss ❤

Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try turning tables instead
You've taken lots of chances before
But I'm not gonna give anymore, don't ask me
That's how it goes
Cause part of me knows what you're thinkin'
Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take anymore, believe me
The Sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing
I am the eye in the sky looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more to know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
Don't leave false illusions behind
Don't cry I ain't changing my mind
So find another fool like before
Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing
Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving
I am the eye in the sky looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more to know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I am the eye in the sky looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more to know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)

So much truth.
When a good friend is not completely honest and you have to walk away.
Sadly, for me, it's been more than one friend, and several Toxic family members; Even a brother who had been a shadow when we were kids. We did everything together. Then one day, he's screaming at me like I'm a dog. I just walked out. I'm done! I wouldn't take that from anyone.

Your sweet boy will always be with you.
Sorry about your kitty. He’s going to be waiting on you…❤

This is not simply a love song. It's revealing something much more important than people can see.
Our Big Brother(s)?
Reminds me of 1984 by George Orwell 😦 1:27
Nací en 1966, todo igual pero desde Argentina 😢 recuerdos que me marcaron hasta hoy...
These songs were in my earliest memories I'll never forget it
Das Lied ist immer noch wunderschön❤❤❤. Und bleibt auch so! Wem es nicht gefällt, braucht nicht zu hören.

The Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky (1982) Lyrics: July 17, 2021
Don't think sorry's easily said
Don't try, turnin' tables instead
You've taken lots of chances before
But I ain't gonna give anymore
Don't ask me
That's how it goes
'Cause part of me knows what you're thinkin'
Don't say words you're gonna regret
Don't let the fire rush to your head
I've heard the accusation before
And I ain't gonna take any more
Believe me
The sun in your eyes
Made some of the lies worth believing
I am the eye in the sky, looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind
Don't leave false illusion behind
Don't cry, I ain't changing my mind
So find another fool like before
'Cause I ain't gonna live anymore
Believing
Some of the lies
When all of the signs are deceiving
I am the eye in the sky, looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind
I am the eye in the sky, looking at you
I can read your mind
I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools
I can cheat you blind
And I don't need to see any more
To know that
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind (looking at you)
I can read your mind...

@@johnmajdiak5990 it was written about a break up the writer spending lots of time in Vegas.

Objectively, this is actually the best song. In most situations, it's a matter of taste, which is relative to each individual person, and it's not the case that one is legitimately BETTER than another, in a way that's independent of each listener's particular experience of it. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you have lots of good memories to keep you going.
My dad is 88, and I wish I could see him more often.
@@sherylcascadden4988 Thank you. I have so many good memories since we were so close. My whole family was close in fact. That makes the hurt stronger but it also helps me to look back on those memories.
There is a lot of people who are moved by your comment and what you are going through. People with a bit a sadness and compassion. It’s what makes us human. I’m one of them. Writing these word with this song in background.
Sorry about your Dad. Amazing the power of music. I also love this song and am the same age as your Dad. Good luck.@@pattyc7860
Takes me back to 80's when I was in Grad school and we played this music late into the night while working on Physics problems! Brings all kinds of emotions bubbling.
I'd be honored if some 80s fans would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of PURPLE RAIN by Prince and EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Peace and stay safe in the '020s.
I work at Bed Bath and Beyond, this song has been playing all the time on our speakers for a while and finally I learned what the song was called. I've been listening to this non stop ever since I got home, the vocals and beats in the song are spectacular.
Were u around back in Summer 1982 when it was a hit? Thats when i got down 2 it . i was13

毎年夏の終わりの夕暮れになるとこの歌を聞きたくなる
Fair enough
The line "the sun in your eyes makes all of the lies worth believing"' is so real. Whoever wrote that line faced the same experiences that I had.
I also saw the sun in someone's eyes once, and I started believing their lies. Truly one of the most terrifying experiences of my life, I believed I was an ivory trader in 14th century Baghdad for a moment

birds often fly into the sun to evade predators. HSS technology makes MK not even worth mentioning.
Man that chorus is spine tingling!
Listened to this with the father of my son during a calmer period of our lives, when violence wasn't so present... Such a complex life made simpler by listening to this song.
My favorite song of all time. Could listen to it a hundred times it doesn't get old
Only Us Gets Older
How about 101?
Good music is eternal, everlasting!
hey guys, did you know that the SON OF GOD JESUS CHRIST created this universe, and trough HIM you can get forgiveness of your sins because HE got sacrificed by HIS HIS FATHER for our sins, only if you believe HIM you will get forgiven and be saved from hell, all who believe HIM not have made HIM to a liar
if you confess with your mouth JESUS IS LORD and believe GOD raised HIM from the death you will be saved
faith is trough hearing and hearing is trough the WORD OF GOD - the BIBLE,,,,
Magnificent.
