Flushing brake fluid is important. People don’t realize it, but most owners of older pickups do. Another interesting fact: wallets absorb moisture; a periodic wallet flush is sometimes required.
@@peteralessandroni3442 you know you're in trouble when your snap on dealer drives a Mercedes and has 3 kids in college, and you are sleeping under a bridge in the hutch of the 84 inch epiq that you still owe $8000 dollars on!
Was about to comment this lol. Hydro Hygro whatever one you use, basically, the shit attracts moisture and water and gets contaminated and water means it won't be compressed like the DOT3 or whatever fluid you got and well water isnt good for seals and rust problems. Idk about every 3 years...good practice for sure but people barely get it done around here...in the rust belt. Figure the lines will go out before the fluid is bad.
@@baileyhatfield4273 its not so much water will compress differently all fluid is "virtually " non compressible .. the issue is when the brakes gets hotter than waters boiling point ( not always 100c) the water turns to steam and as we know gas compresses and expands leading to brake fade and poor feel .... not a criticism of your comments but just some info if anyone reads all the posts
@@johnfountain8143 it's all good yeah basically water isn't mean for it and at high temps which brakes do all the time it makes the brakes crappo. Good explanation though so thanks all good lol never hurts to have the more scientific or exact way. Have a good one
Whenever I do brakes, before bleeding I always use a 1/4" breaker bar and a 6 point deep socket to break the bleeder valve. I break it and immediately tighten it up. A quick back and forth motion that's less than a second. I do this so that I don't round off the bleeder valve. Then I go with the regular bleeding using a flare nut wrench or brake bleeder wrench. Whichever one works best. Works perfectly every time. That's my peculiar approach to bleeding brakes.
Buy some cheap wrenches that cost what....1 dollar per? in bigger kits? Heat them up bend them a little pray they don't snap and try it out lol. Or the CLASSIC cut it off and put it on something else. Neat to have the ''right'' tool but sometimes homeade is just as good.
i hate when you doing a bleed you got the tools under the car someone change a caliber now 14 wrenches later and getting what to say.... mad no up set . the after market junk drills out the bleeder to the next size drag the whole tool box under the car at that point . 3/8 on one wheel 10mm on the next 7/16 rear ugh you aint telling me you have a problem it is all needed today thanks flat rate
I have every MAC anti vibe hammer. I absolutely love them! The 5lb and 3lb sledge are my most used. And then the 12oz ball peen. I honestly think they were a great investment as is my Milwaukee tools🤫 that is an obsession 🤣. Have all the ratchets. Stubby’s. Compact. mid. and high torque. Drills.grinders barely fits my masters drawer 54” wide time to downsize the tools.
can you do a comparison of chrome universals vs impact universals ? i have the snap-on 1/4 chrome universals and i hate how they bunch up/don’t fully pivot the way i need them to
Raised panel wrenches. Craftsman, Jobsmart, and I've been looking at an Evercraft set. And I know they're generally not the best, but it what I grew up with.
the black SAE wrench is a VIM they used to make a metric one as well but they now sell Taiwan ones under the same part number but the USA made VIM ones worked better as they were just the right bend and the the new ones don't want to stay straight.
Lol agreed we all have a little thing that makes us tick. Mine is bit sockets have a entire snap on long door full of just bit sockets. Sae hex up to 1 inch metric up to 24mm and Torx up to T100 and everything in between in all drive sizes.
@@baileyhatfield4273 Well 7/8 hex used for upper kingpin on Dana 60s, 24mm hex use for removing wheels on Ducati motorcycles. Mercedes uses a tamper proof T60 in the trans and a tamper proof T100 for cams. Odd ball stuff like the VW m10 poly drive head bolts.
I do several brake flushes every week, i have a LTR brake flushing machine from germany that makes it super easy. If you are doing alot of VW and Audis i highly recommend getting 6pt dolphin wrenches (have not seen any US mechanics use them but they are common in Europe), they have the perfect angle for most VAG cars, they ofc work great on other brake bleed screws aswell.
@@TheMasterHackUS No thats the type of the wrench, they kinda resemble a dolphin. Most auto parts stores sell them here in Sweden. Im not sure how to get them in the US but if you google dolphin wrench they seem to be popular in Japan and Australia aswell.
I WOULD NOT LIE, I JUST BOUGHT A BRAKE BLEEDING WRENCH JUST YESTERDAY IT WAS A LISLE 5/16 in. x 3/8 in. Brake Bleeder Wrench. AND IT WORKS GREAT ON 1998 FORD RANGER CLUTCH CYLINDER THIS TRUCK IS A PAIN TO BLEED.
My obbession since day one has been every style of pick/awl that sorta thing. Long, short, multiple handles, multiple brands, radiator hose picks, striking end, etc.... I have a problem.
For sure easier to do it then, and you know that it's all in tip top shape...easier to tell i can figure too, yeah you're gonna need rotors pads lube and we will flush the fluid with new stuff.
Lol 😂. It’s definitely a issue for sure, my obsession lately has been long reach ratchet wrench’s flex heads and such , it’s getting extremely costly. If my wife ever found out the actual cost of the total cost for all my tools she probably would think I’m lying lol 😂. The guys started adding this shit up and it’s close to $100,000 easy that’s a fucking shame just thinking of what I could have bought with all that cash 💰
Surely that long 1/4 ratchet with a 3/8 drive can only be what? 20....30 dollars? Oh no you got this way off xd. Add another 0 maybe to the end of it and you might be there.

wallet flush lol that ez easy peeps get a girl friend or a boy friend or a side ez wallet flush
I had the same issue as FRM but after intense pschologogical therapy I'm now proud to report that I only use vice grips to open brake bleeders.
I noticed so many 12-point wrenches in your arsenal. While living in the north, I’ve stripped to many rusty zerks using them. For me 6-point rules.
No doubt about it
Some of them go from yeah its a 10 to.....yeah its the torch and some vice grips or Knipex.

On the fence on the Mac wrenches for brake bleeding
Another chiming in - rechagable lights for me too. Just bought another today.
What about when you torque them up? You just use experience?
For brake bleeders O_O? You're out here torquing them? Just get them nice and snug it's not rocket science.
