This video was actually super helpful for me because i just got samples from e drum workshop and i was wanting to add new sounds to some of the kits. (Kinda like a mix and match) and i didnt understand crud the last video said. This is way more simple! They were saying you had to layer this that, and i was like. I just want the exact same sound not layer anything lol! Thank you man! I do have one question though. So once I assign the sample to a new user kit, lets say my kit 52. I now have that in my module, and i dont need the SD card in my module anymore? Wondering because if so, i can record covers on the SD card without having to worry about losing my samples. Thank you once again! Glad to know i have way more flexibility now! 🤟

This is incredibly helpful. Do you know if there is a way to record in Logic using the kit that you create or do you have to use one of the kits provided by logic? I have been having some trouble with the recording side of it. Thank you!
Great to hear! You can - just you would have to use the audio out 1/4 outputs into a recording interface. Only other option would be to connect the kit via USB, and load the sounds into logic or drum sequencer
20:05 It would have been MUCH better if you muted the external camera mic and only used the output from the drum module for the demo, because I hear more of the ambient plastic-like sounds of the hi-hat and of the mesh heads of the toms than the actual drum samples here.
Thank you @remicholey9432 ! I'm not sure, but if you can load the sounds onto an SD card like I did in this video you might be able to. If not, you might be able to connect the electronic kit module to your computer via USB and use it as a midi controller for superior drummer.

You're welcome. Woah - that is a big kit! I don't know much about Superior Drummer 3, but again if you can access the sound folders you should be able to load them to an SD card. It might work!
I noticed that when you are loading the sounds into the kit, you had multiple velocities for each drum on your card. Is it possible to load all the multi-velocity samples into one drum, or does the TD-17 only allow you to upload a single sample and adjust its dynamics by changing the volume? Alternatively, can you upload multiple velocity samples into one drum for round-robin sampling, similar to how a trigger would work?
That's a great question! I don't think that you can load the various velocities so they're triggered on how hard the drum/pad is hit, but that would be a great feature
Can we load the MP3 backing track into the module song list in the same way? Is there a way we could play the song backing track directly from the SD card?
@@NickCostaMusic I found it. You have to store them at the root of the SD card. Then in the sóng function. Press F1 to switch between the internal and SD card location.
The only way you're going to get sound from a USB is if you use VSTS. Those are way more expensive than just getting samples on an SD card. I found out the hard way. I have 3 VSTS. 2 GGD and 1 Mixwave. In total I've spent about 350 on these specific sounds. But the samples I've bought from e drum workshop are samples I can't get on a VST. Id recommend going to buy that 8 dollar SD card and buy some sample kits instead bud. Don't get me wrong, VSTS are better when it comes to sound quality, but it's very expensive. Just a heads up. If you want more knowledge look up Drum Tec, or The E drum workshop. Specifically E drum workshop has a video on how to load the samples on your module and all. Hope this helped. It's not very much a sentence, more if a paragraph, but you need to know this kinda stuff before jumping in blindly. 🤟

@@Loonatic816 if you can get your samples onto a computer, then you can get your samples onto your module! 😁🤟 I looked up reason and it looks to be a DAW? From my knowledge you can't put the samples from your DAW onto your kit. Thats why I said only VSTS work in that area! But if you can get them as single audio files on your computer, then you should be able to load that sound into your SD card! Hope that made a little more sense, haha. I haven't been to sleep in a good 16 hrs, so if I don't respond I will asap. Haha! Have a good night!
Because USB cables connect through the computer. If you're using a VST that is how you get the sounds from it. (Via USB cable.) If you are getting samples like in this video, you buy them, download them, then load them ONTO THE SD CARD, and insert them into your module. There's many different ways to get amazing sounds out of your kit, you just have to be willing to have some patience and try to figure it out. It took me a whole year of messing around with sounds and stuff until I found out about samples and how much cheaper they are lol. From your comment, you definitely seem to be a bit frustrated, and I get it, but remember being mad at it only makes YOU mad and makes it harder. The module/computer or whatever it is you're working on doesn't have feelings so it isn't gonna work if it sees ya upset. I believe in you man, sit back, relax, and take it slow!! What the heck? Why do drummers don't like the sounds that come with this? There is tons of sounds I love them, I just want to record my audio to do drum covers, people are never happy 😂

You're welcome! I don't think you can import sounds to the TD-07, though you can use it as a USB/midi controller to control sounds in your DAW

In a sentence, sure! - You can't import sounds using a USB, only an SD card.

A card reader? The damn thing has a usb cable, why do I need a card reader? Can’t I just wipe the original sounds and replace them??
Roland has the USB setup to only send and receive audio/MIDI, not to transfer data like sounds
