Thank you so much for telling the bolt sizes, it eliminates so much guess work. Very informative
+ToTheWatcher Thanks for checking us out. 1aauto.com
Just disconnect at front of tank. No need to remove evap lines from tank. Makes it a bit easier.
Best cannel
thanks!
Do you have a part number for the circular clips that attaches the gas tank shield to the gas tank?
What is the name of those hoses you. Removed. From the back towards the from. Having a hard time which line has broken off
Do you have a video for the previous generation? I'm thinking I might need to replace the fuel pump in my 97 Tahoe soon.
+Dustin Louder Thanks for checking us out! We currently do not have a gas tank install video for the 1997 Chevy Tahoe.
The bolts hold my straps are rusted and they just keep spinning how do you break them loose?
Great video. After replacing the tank on my 02 Suburban 2500, it wont mount to where the straps are flush as before. Any ideas?
Same here
You either have an obstruction like the hoses not being placed back in the holders or you bent the straps out of place
I want a larger tank for my 2003 Suburban 1500 4x4 5.3l. I really want
as big of a tank possible. I think the oem fuel tank that's in there now
is 31 gallons. Any help or ideas?
+General Caeser Thank you for watching. To obtain a larger fuel tank, there would need to be modifications made under the vehicle to allow for proper fit and clearance. 1aauto.com
Is it a lot of modifications?
Is it easier to lower spare tire?
yes!
for the two hose that are connected to the tank it self and not connected to the fuel pump, what happens if you break the "stem" off that male connector (2:54)
+serpzer Then you'll need to find a way to reconnect that hose while maintaining a good seal. That may require replacing the tank, not sure on this particular model. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com?UA-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony 866-403-3393
Thus has resulted in a new tank. Thanks for your help love the vids
I have a question what happens if one of the clips for just the evac hose connection breaks what the hell is that thing called and how come nobody has it
With the hoses, just take the quick connect clips off the male ends, and insert them into the female connectors for easier reconnecting
will the 37 gallon gas tank that was OEM for a 2004 Suburban 2500 (6.0L v8) FIT a 2004 1500 LT Suburban (5.3L v8)? Thanks. The 1500 came with only a 31 gallon gas tank.
+Bryce Williams Thanks for checking us out! A 37-gallon tank will not fit when replacing a 31-gallon tank. You would want to purchase the same size tank that originally came with the vehicle.
@@1AAuto Thanks. Are you aware of anyone doing any replacement / auxiliary tanks on these 2002-06 suburbans that could possibly give me more capacity? I checked out Titan Tanks but they are exclusively for GMC/Chevy pick up trucks. Thanks.
+Bryce Williams We do not have a video for this type of repair right now, nor do we have any information on how to upgrade to a larger capacity tank.
@@brycewilliams98 have you had any luck with this problem ? im currently in the market myself
Broke Both connections that go to the Hard gas lines but found them both with a 90 degree bend and they are 2 different sizes i just drilled out the plastic bits from the plastic gas line and put in the new fitting and JB welded reinforced it for extra extra and i also broke the nipple from the plastic line that goes into the charcoal canister and piloted a hole big enough to fit the broken nipple piece and JB welded that in there too it fit snug the step drilling method helped in finding the exact hole diameter to fin the broken piece in so yeah that's how i fixed 3 broken hose fittings don't use brute force when dropping the gas tank i did because i did it by myself and didn't watch a video but my i always fix what i brake buying a new gas tank boy u crazy hahah there's always a solution to everything. fixed it all for like 25 bucks 2 fittings and a pack or jb weld 2-1 oz tubes call it done.
great video as always. Hey just a quick question. I have 2 hoses coming from the fuel tank, the ones you took off on minute 2:52. on 4:54 you disconnect the hose, yet i have an extra hose and not sure where it goes. is it mean to be left disconnected because I just bought a Suburban 2002 and there were codes p0440 p0446. There appears to be no pressure or swoosh when I take off the gas cap, i am also getting a gas smell when i try to run it. Everything appears to work well and I can start it up no issues. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Did you figure it out?
I also have a 2001 suburban as well with a p0440. I smell gas also...

What is that line at 7:30 what is the part number?
What is the part number for the hose in 2:50 of the video?
Did you ever get an answer to this question I’m also looking for that hose
2:54 when your disconnecting that first line mine broke off from apart of the line what do I do
+Dreamchasers 432 We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
On a 4x4 does the canister need removing

your hand is like a nervous spider - I will pay you to do this for me
Don hand looks like thing Adam's lol

JEREMY WHITMORE can't seem to get the fuel tank past the frame of the 96 GMC Yukon to replace it
Remove spare tire so we can see what your doing
Crap move not including the sending unit removal!
