It’s my favorite album of hers. It was special, she didn’t promote it anywhere and never talked about the album except with fans. During this era it was only Taylor and her fans, cause the rest of the world cancelled her. This album brought her back from the dead and proved that she is on another level. She was braver and more direct with her songwriting on reputation. People only judge it because of ‘Look What You Made Me Do.’ Had she released the trio of ‘Getaway Car’ ‘Don’t Blame Me’ & ‘I Did Something Bad’ it would have had matched 1989 cause those 3 songs supplies the demand of what people actually want to hear from all the drama back in 2016. Kimye, her tumultuous relationships that year. But I guess she didn’t want people to think it was all about the drama. It was good to end the era with Delicate tho cause it prepared the audience for the more chill and calm music that is found on the Lover album. I just love how 1989 is the sunset, reputation is the nighttime, and Lover is the sunrise.
If I were to describe this album it would be gritty, romantic, unapologetic, and innovative! This album was so new and unexpected, it took a while for it to grow on me but once it did it stuck...like really stuck. I'm not sure Taylor can replicate this masterpiece again though because she had to dig deep and go through some terrible things to get this out. You can hear her pain in some songs but I'm glad this album happened, this was the side of Taylor the world needed to hear and most especially FEEL.
This is beautiful. Wtf. I loved the album and I knew standard reviewers didn't get the fact that it was more that revenge and pettiness. I'm so happy I found this. Great work. You have a fan in me.
Your analysis of I Did Something Bad is so interesting! I’ve never thought of it in the context of her relationships, I always saw it as an empowering feminist response to the whole Kanye lyric incident. But I guess it can be applied more generally as well, as a response to a multitude of events throughout her career. No matter what I think it’s such an important song on the album! People don’t realise that like Blank Space, she’s playing with a character. Brilliance.
had the media actually listened to this album, they would know it is an album about love, it is more a LOVE album than Lover. It is a masterpiece about meeting someone and falling in love. The old Taylor was dead, no more breakup songs, she is writing about what it is like to fall in love for the very first time with someone who treats her well. And, it is truly an adult album, you cannot compare works of a teenager, early 20-something with a 28 yr old writing REP. Had the media given this album a chance, it was AOTY material.
I have to say that you made me love Reputation more, it was never my favorite album of Taylor's but maybe i just never understood it, it is so much clearer now, and i absolutely love the narrative. I feel like you opened my eyes, i love it.

Cant believe that it's been only eight months since you launched this channel. your content is very well made, you are very well aware of what constructive critisizm is really about. Great job again. I m sure that your channel is gonna be one of thé most important channels on UA-cam
For me, Reputation is Taylor's most underrated album. It helped me through so much mental and emotional shit in 11th grade. I just don't get why people couldn't decipher the album.
This album made me into a Swiftie. This was so descriptive and open. When Look What You Made Me Do Released i was truly hyped for the release. I really had big problems back then
I've been a fan of her for 12 years but I never thought of reputation the way you explained it. Thanks so much, it really put the whole album in a new perspective for me.
I feel like Reputation was defined by LWYMMD and that’s why some people didn’t liked it. If u would really listen to the whole album and be open to it, this album has some really good songs like “King of My Heart”, “Getaway Car”, “Dancing With Our Hands Tied”, “Dress” and “Delicate”. These songs are so nice and often just missed out on.
I'll admit, when LWYMMD was first released, I didn't really like it (I was mostly the chorus that I thought was too repetitive), but it slowly grew on me as I learned more about the meaning of the lyrics and about Taylor as a person. Now, I absolutely love Reputation and this video really helped me appreciate it even more. Love your channel!
The bridge of Endgame is one of my favorite things in the world. Reputation means so much to me. It's my favorite Taylor album and it makes me so happy to see it getting some attention.
i absolutely love reputation i think its one of her best work and people overlook it cause they think all she does is pettily address some drama.. the album literally got misunderstood cause of taylor's reputation lmaoo... its actually a self discovery and a love story but people don't really focus on that
That would be so fun! I think I'd be able to hopefully bring more to the table. This is my first ever video so I'm not even sure if I explained anything all that well 😳
I subscribed to you today. I watched the Britney, Lady Gaga and now this video. I really love your channel. I’m happy I found a channel who does in depth with music. I’m like this all the time and it’s so hard to explain why like music as much as I do. And thank you again for doing a Britney video. Finally, some who isn’t bias against her (Britney) ☺️♥️
I have literally never understood what ready for it was about and as I’m watching this video my brain is breaking from the realization of how deep It is
Love that someone finally explained the whole album track by track. People who haven't heard the whole album think that rep is all about shallowness, revenge, throwing shade and dissing Kanye whereas it's mostly about how in the darkest times of her life she found true love
The lines You asked me for a place to sleep : indicate the fact that Kanye called her to help him promote his music... Locked me up : - ....Framed her And threw a feast : - the hate train that they started against her..
@@popdissected4400 can you make a video of Kim Kardashian's reaction on asked about "ending" Taylor swift before and after reputation was released..... And when I read the lyrics of the song I had visuals of the things described ......it was only 2-3 months ago I got to know about the entire story that led to the making of reputation....... I was shocked ....
I'll look into it! I'm not sure if I will however. "reputation" very much has a cohesive storyline and narrative, and I personally don't think "Witness" has that same type of journey. And I LOVE "Witness", but I think a story doesn't come across through the tracklisting. Thoughts?
people focus too much on taylors sounds, they criticize her for sounding bland, yet most people don't recognize she's trying to tell a story, listen to the album red, it also has a story too it, people should really stop focusing on how "interesting" the sound of her music is, and look closer at the lyrics where taylor really shines, she isn't just trying to put out fun catchy songs, she's trying to tell the world something in her best medium, she's less of a SONG writer and more of a POET, who just puts their poems to a catchy beat to put it simply
I've thought about it. The record doesn't seem to have the same clear narrative structure as "rep", and the back half of the tracklisting seems to narratively go all over the place, so I'm still debating if there is a true 'story' spanning across the entire record.
I wanted to more or less focus on the bulk of the narrative story of "reputation". I am aware there are subtexts referring to her issues with Kanye, but predominantly the record follows her being scorned by the media; so I wanted to keep it focused on that! But thank you for mentioning that!
How many times does this repeat the word “media”? The media wasn’t her only target here- Kim Kardashian created the snake imagery and LWYMMD is clearly about Kim and Kanye, as they secretly recorded her on the phone that killed the old Taylor.
@@vlaekershner7305 I am 2 months late but in mv ,she takes a diss alot of other stuffs too like her hitting dead end street in masserati with grammy can be interpreted as either katy diss or red not winning an grammy but I see it 2 birds with one stone, her dancing , "I ❤️ TS" etc , Taylor doesnt had good reputation to begin with mainly cause of her "dating" . Kim singlehandely wouldnt have been able to take down Taylor, it was people' hatred & despise for her who has been looking up to get anything to drag her & end her career . This was THAT , they orchestrated it huge & finally had some "evidence" to show that she is fAkE . She took hit at Kanye by line in this is why we cant have nice things , "Friends dont try to trick you,get you on the phone & mind twist you". Media who has been cruel to her for so long wasnt much help in this situation either. If it would have been some other artist, this would have been the end of their career but she is TAYLOR SWIFT so she came off BIGGER than BEFORE.
The prod. crew and staffs, really did a great job on making the stage of reputation tour, the lighting and the design is just on another level, like (eurovision, who?) haha just kiddin'
I am gonna be honest to say that at first, I never gave reputation a lot of attention, because I used to think that this might be her worst album, but after listening to all of the tracks in the album, I now consider it as a misunderstood masterpiece and I just hope that she would do another dark and gothic album like this. Anyways, my favorite songs from this album are Look What You Made Me Do, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, Delicate, Getaway Car, King Of My Heart, I Did Something Bad, ...Ready For It?, Dancing With Our Hands Tied and Don't Blame Me.
To say that the media is at fault for her dating life exposure is a bit sensitive. Most of her songs were about her true love life. And she even leaned into that narrative a good handful of times. Many of artists have done this in the past but took ownership of it. She made her love life the first seat of her songs AND she only dated VERY popular guys. THAT was the big mistake. It's common knowledge that you can't simply date A-List guys/women without the media being involved. Put all those together and you got what happened to her. I'm not saying it's okay for the media to do that but it's not a surprise (which is how she makes it seem like). With that said, the album was lit. Because of the media coverage, I appreciate the album much deeper.
Very good points! However, I don't think Taylor is exactly making it seem like a "surprise', but is more so critiquing the fact it happened in a self aware / meta kind of way. But I do understand your points! Thank you for sharing!
I mean, it's more or less speculation. I see it primarily being about the media, but in terms of the music video, I can't ignore the car crash scene has many parallels to Katy Perry.
I think that car crash scene is about justin bieber...i mean he win a grammy while wearing a leopardy-theme shirt...and queen tay exactly do the same thing in that scene...lol
I loved your interpretations, but I felt you kind of missed a point during the interpretation of I Did Something Bad. It’s not just about her dating persona. She also takes jabs at people that have come for her and tried to tarnish her reputation. For instance, ‘narcissist’ most presumably refers to Kanye West who is known to be one of the most egotistical and narcissistic personalities in the music industry. Both he and his wife Kim are OBSESSED with her, and have gone immeasurable lengths to destroy her career. The INFAMOUS example would be the edited footage released by Kim, regarding the Famous song lyric conversation between Taylor and Kanye (first of all, this was an illegal thing to do; second of all, we all now know that Taylor was always right as the original unedited footage has leaked). This whole editing fiasco is referred to as ‘receipts’ that prove that Taylor was in fact the culprit, even though she was perfectly innocent. Thus she declares ‘light me up’ like witches, which is again a reference to the Salem Witch Trials, in which many people were falsely accused of practicing witchcraft and burned at the stake. Yes indeed, she also refers to her dating persona as created by the media in the second verse where she references ‘playboys’. Also ‘if he spends my change then he had it coming’ could be a direct jab at her ex Calvin Harris, who profited off of This Is What You Came For, a song that SHE wrote under the pseudonym Nils Sjöberg
"Look What You Made Me Do" hands down! I think it's brilliant in every aspect. I also love "I Did Something Bad", "Call It What You Want", "Dancing With Our Hands Tied" and "Getaway Car"!

Look, I’m not denying that she doesn’t have a place in the music world and she’s obviously very talented to have gotten this far but I hate it when people try to make out like she’s so different from all these other pop girls. She makes catchy but shallow pop music for the masses. It’s as simple as that. And I’m not going to have a conversation with you about how dumb you sound saying she’s woman of the decade...because she’s a woman. No shit Sherlock. If we’re giving the award away that easily then I happen to think my mother deserves woman of the decade more than Taylor Swift.
THAT LAST SENTENCE 🙏 YES!!!
Can't believe Taylor Swift invented the Avengers with this album
LMAO PERIOD
😂😂😂
I love that he didn't mention Katy Perry or Kim Kardashian, he only talked about lyrics and visuals. The important stuff.❤❤👌🏻👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻
❤️ ❤️ ❤️
If I were to describe this album it would be gritty, romantic, unapologetic, and innovative! This album was so new and unexpected, it took a while for it to grow on me but once it did it stuck...like really stuck. I'm not sure Taylor can replicate this masterpiece again though because she had to dig deep and go through some terrible things to get this out. You can hear her pain in some songs but I'm glad this album happened, this was the side of Taylor the world needed to hear and most especially FEEL.
Agreed!
This is beautiful. Wtf. I loved the album and I knew standard reviewers didn't get the fact that it was more that revenge and pettiness. I'm so happy I found this. Great work. You have a fan in me.
Thank you so much!!!
Brilliance.
Exactly! Thank you for watching!
had the media actually listened to this album, they would know it is an album about love, it is more a LOVE album than Lover.
It's funny the media called her snake and she made it as her merch, Rep tour, A WHOLE ALBUM, and A WHOLE ERA. she accepted it and she's a legend!
I have to say that you made me love Reputation more, it was never my favorite album of Taylor's but maybe i just never understood it, it is so much clearer now, and i absolutely love the narrative. I feel like you opened my eyes, i love it.
Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoy the record now!
You are doing a great job Man! Cant believe that it's been only eight months since you launched this channel. your content is very well made, you are very well aware of what constructive critisizm is really about. I ve been watching these Taylor Swift vidéos over and over again but i also did admire and appreciate the videos that you made about Katy Perry for instance and how you approched that Witness was not well recieved as a record, but you did not offend or Hurt the Katy cats. Great job again. I m sure that your channel is gonna be one of thé most important channels on UA-cam
Thank you so much, you're amazing!!
For me, Reputation is Taylor's most underrated album. It helped me through so much mental and emotional shit in 11th grade. I just don't get why people couldn't decipher the album.
You and I both. This record definitely was and still is a catharsis for me.
This album made me into a Swiftie. This was so descriptive and open. When Look What You Made Me Do Released i was truly hyped for the release. I really had big problems back then
Yesss!
I've been a fan of her for 12 years but I never thought of reputation the way you explained it. Thanks so much, it really put the whole album in a new perspective for me.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! :)
Reputation was absolutely brilliant. It’s mocking people that have wronged her and she’s also being so vulnerable and sweet. It’s so beautiful
When he said " all those high profile celebrities who dissed her will suffer the consequences...."
I was like of course tayvoodoo...
LMAOOO
I’m waiting on part 2, please release it
Don't worry, it's coming very soon!
Anaylize Ariana Grande please anything esp Thank U,Next and Sweetener u anaylize it is very detail and accurate
Ooh, great idea! And thank you so much!
Reputation is by far my favorite Taylor album. Dark Taylor has intense Slytherin vibes and edgy sex appeal
Yessss!
Where’s part 2??
It's coming soon, don't worry! :)
Thank you so much!
The bridge of Endgame is one of my favorite things in the world.
Reputation means so much to me. It's my favorite Taylor album and it makes me so happy to see it getting some attention.
Yessss!!!
Your videos are amazing. You work hard on them. I hope that your channel gets much more recognition ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!!!
i absolutely love reputation i think its one of her best work and people overlook it cause they think all she does is pettily address some drama.. the album literally got misunderstood cause of taylor's reputation lmaoo... its actually a self discovery and a love story but people don't really focus on that
Omg I miss the reputation tour 😭❤️ great video! Gonna watch part 2 now
Missing the "rep" tour too!! 😭
This whole era just gives me chills
Love this, you put some efford on this and it shows
Thank you!!!
00:00 Intro

09:28 Don't blame me
10:42 Delicate
14:50 Look what you made me do
i would love to sit and listen to you explain every one of her albums
That would be so fun! I think I'd be able to hopefully bring more to the table. This is my first ever video so I'm not even sure if I explained anything all that well 😳
I became her fan because of Reputation. Her most underrated album which was way ahead of its' time.
DOPE VID! LOVE IT SO MUCH!
Thank you so much!
Love your videos
Thank you!!! ❤️
I LOVE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH.
Thank you!!!!
Reputation is one of the best albums EVER PEROIDT
PERIODDD
PERIOD
Wow this is an incredible analysis!!!
Thank you for watching ❤️ ! This is my first ever video and I'm glad people are liking it months after I even posted it!
Something tells me that you're great at writing essays for english.
I would say so - haha!
You describe this so good!
Thank you!!!
Take a shot everytime he says "potential lover"
Potential lover. Are you drunk yet?
😂
Honestly the album that got me into Taylor and pop
I never listen to her music when she first came out. And I like country music. But 1989 had good songs. I have to listen to reputation and Lover.
Definitely give "rep" and "Lover" a listen :)
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing! You're amazing!
I have literally never understood what ready for it was about and as I’m watching this video my brain is breaking from the realization of how deep
It is
I need a 3 part folklore analysis !
Maybe 👀 My video I did put out on it was right as the record was released, so it hardly goes in depth, but that's a great idea.
Became a big Taylor fan because of Reputation but, after Lover, I guess I'm just a Reputation fan. Still my most played album on Spotify.
"rep" is my favorite record of hers!
I'm not too big on the Reputation album but after watching this video, I think I am going to give this album a go
Yes, totally give it a listen!
Don't blame me was a trip of MY life......it was a whole experience
YESSS!!
You missed the best part in Delicate 123LGB!
Hahaha! We love "1, 2, 3 - LET'S GO BITCH" !
Love that someone finally explained the whole album track by track. People who haven't heard the whole album think that rep is all about shallowness, revenge, throwing shade and dissing Kanye whereas it's mostly about how in the darkest times of her life she found true love
I love this channel! Especially the Katy Perry videos. Thank you :)
Thank you so much, and thank you for watching! You're amazing!
The lines
You asked me for a place to sleep : indicate the fact that Kanye called her to help him promote his music...
Locked me up : - ....Framed her
And threw a feast : - the hate train that they started against her..
Omg....!!!
@@popdissected4400 can you make a video of Kim Kardashian's reaction on asked about "ending" Taylor swift before and after reputation was released.....
I saw two clips from ' watch what happens live' .......it's kinda funny cuz she didn't had that smirk the second time........since Taylor ended Kim with reputation by the same things that Kim values the most - success, money, and news headlines.....✌️
@@popdissected4400 and when I first heard reputation and lwymmd.....I didn't knew about any of these things that happened because I'm from another country......
The first song I heard of Tay is lovestory ( and music video)....then 1989 record .( Especially blankspace)....so I had an image of Taylor swift in my mind .....then she shattered it in lwymmd music video...
And when I read the lyrics of the song I had visuals of the things described ......it was only 2-3 months ago I got to know about the entire story that led to the making of reputation....... I was shocked ....
Analyze Witness by Katy Perry! I would love to watch your thoughts and your analysis.
I'll look into it! I'm not sure if I will however. "reputation" very much has a cohesive storyline and narrative, and I personally don't think "Witness" has that same type of journey. And I LOVE "Witness", but I think a story doesn't come across through the tracklisting. Thoughts?
My fav Taylor album.
Ever.
people focus too much on taylors sounds, they criticize her for sounding bland, yet most people don't recognize she's trying to tell a story, listen to the album red, it also has a story too it, people should really stop focusing on how "interesting" the sound of her music is, and look closer at the lyrics where taylor really shines, she isn't just trying to put out fun catchy songs, she's trying to tell the world something in her best medium, she's less of a SONG writer and more of a POET, who just puts their poems to a catchy beat to put it simply
She doesn't write...she POETS 😃
Are you going to do one on lover? 👀
I've thought about it. The record doesn't seem to have the same clear narrative structure as "rep", and the back half of the tracklisting seems to narratively go all over the place, so I'm still debating if there is a true 'story' spanning across the entire record.
Pop Dissected there is sir it about love rather about a person or friendship so overall all kinds of love
OMG i love reputation so much, its the best album ever!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰
It's wonderful!!!
And they called it " the worst music from her life"...... people were so biased.
They really did 😭 I forgot about that.
Taylor is my favorite pop artist because of Reputation
"reputation" is amazing!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes Reputation a lot better than Lover. I think this stronger version of TS and less of the fluff in Lover.
Agreed!
i wonder why you don't really talk about the fact shes respond to kanye and stuff don't be scared !
I wanted to more or less focus on the bulk of the narrative story of "reputation". I am aware there are subtexts referring to her issues with Kanye, but predominantly the record follows her being scorned by the media; so I wanted to keep it focused on that! But thank you for mentioning that!
Pop Dissected but thats also a big part should had kept it
How many times does this repeat the word “media”?
I did something bad is the dark version of IKYWT
Ready For It is the dark ver of Blank Space
Period.
YNS + Innocent + Blank Space = LWYMMD
I though “Look What You Made Me Do” was about Katy Perry, not the media
I mean, it's more or less speculation. I see it primarily being about the media, but in terms of the music video, I can't ignore the car crash scene has many parallels to Katy Perry.
I think that car crash scene is about justin bieber...i mean he win a grammy while wearing a leopardy-theme shirt...and queen tay exactly do the same thing in that scene...lol
It’s about the Kanye/Kim situation
can u make a video about her lover album plez 🥺🥺
I recently put one out 😊
Pop Dissected thank you ❤️
I loved your interpretations, but I felt you kind of missed a point during the interpretation of I Did Something Bad.
Ahh yes, very good points, thank you for bringing these up!!
and I watched the whole video
Thank you!
i did something bad is the best song on reputation. GOD THIS IS SUCH AN INCREDIBLE SONG.
what's your favorite song in this album pop disected??
"Look What You Made Me Do" hands down! I think it's brilliant in every aspect. I also love "I Did Something Bad", "Call It What You Want", "Dancing With Our Hands Tied" and "Getaway Car"!
This is the best album Taylor has, maybe ever will have. Especially better than Lover in my opinion.
Agreed!
no I Did Something Bad is the dark of IKYWT
Oh, true !
reputation made me think that taylor can be a bad bitch, and i loved it
I just realized that I think Taylor Swift was going for a witch look with her hair & everything lol. Why am I so late to this? I really need to watch the Netflix performances
Yesss, watch the "rep" tour on Netflix!
Damn did you write the damn album?
Yeah, I ghost wrote it.
