In case it isn't obvious enough: once the suspect is in custody, there's no need for overwatch to use his heat signature capturing infrared camera on that person while it can be put to use to watch for any more movement/suspects in the perimeter.

That justifies the number of officers and their preparedness to use overwhelming force, but the actual use of force is only justified by the actions of the suspect in the moment. If he is not resisting, then you place him in handcuffs, period. It is not for the police to mete out punishment. No matter what the suspect has done, no matter how much we may think that he has earned it, due process and the rule of law must be respected.

Excellent, Excellent situational awareness by the helicopter crew for focusing on the surroundings during the arrest and scanning for additional threats, the arrest is being handled by ground units, no need to focus on the suspect, better to scan for additional threats. I am not condoning what this man has done but this type of action and behavior from LAW ENFORCEMENT when apprehending a suspect only causes more problems and potentially more situations like this where criminals on the run feel they have no chance to surrender.. initially i assumed the first person who came out belly crawling to the curb must have been someone else that was in the house because of how quickly the camera panned away. on second view, after realizing no one else came out, i knew that that WAS the suspect and the cameraman conveniently pans away as to not catch the beating. initially i assumed the first person who came out belly crawling to the curb must have been someone else that was in the house because of how quickly the camera panned away. on second view, after realizing no one else came out, i knew that that WAS the suspect and the cameraman conveniently pans away as to not catch the beating.
