Great walk! I especially liked the circular patterns on the street leading to the shrine. My favorite parts were when you entered the shrine tunnel at around 0:14:43 - I was sure the groundskeeper with the leaf blower was going to chase you down the tunnel! It was terrifying and thrilling. I’ve decided that leaf blowers and motor scooters are a public nuisance! Oh! My other favorite part comes at the end, around 0:27:14, with the appearance of the Torii gates. Just beautiful. ⛩️🥰
Hi, thank you so much for always your comment! I'm glad you liked it. It's nice that you focused on the circular pattern design! Yes, I was actually shooting while thinking that leaf blowers and motor scooters were loud, too.
The advantage of shooting early in the morning is that there are fewer people, but the disadvantage is that there are many people moving around by car or scooter and cleaning. But it's too hot during the day (it's over 30°C/86°F before noon. How about Santa Cruz?).
One of the characteristics of Kamakura is that after passing through residential areas and tunnels, shrines and temples suddenly appear. You know the torii gate!? You are so familiar with Japan. The shrine with that torii gate is a hidden spot that tourists don't visit. I'm glad I've introduced it to you😊
@@GentleWalk81 hi thanks for responding! Kamakura sure is beautiful. I would love to visit the temples and shrines there (and take a ride on the Enoden Line). Santa Cruz is in a little cove with a weird microclimate - it stays pretty cool most of the year - right now, because we’re supposed to be having a heat-wave, it gets up to about 75°, but not until 4:00 pm or 5:00 pm. We get heavy mist and fog in the mornings during the summer (what the locals call “June Gloom”) that keeps it cool most of the time. We’ll get Summer later in the year, around October, when it can reach up to 80° or 90° during the afternoon, and for a couple weeks, I will lay around, like wilted lettuce, complaining about the heat. 😅🥬

Wilted lettuce!😅 I thought Santa Cruz and Kamakura would have similar climates, since they both face the bay on the south side and are at the close latitude. That's good, it's cool most of the year😊 If you ever visit Kamakura, you will surely be surprised by the high humidity in Japan - especially in June and July, it feels like you're in a steam bath. It will go beyond "Gloom". I recommend the autumn leaves season or the spring cherry blossoms and plum blossoms season. I'm thinking of taking videos of the Enoden train for next shoot. If you have any requests, please feel free to let me know😉
@@GentleWalk81 I know right?? We are almost directly across from each other on either edge of the Pacific Plate, so you’d think weather would be similar. But today it was foggy and cold and never got above 69°. But that’s okay, I’m not good with heat. It sounds like Kamakura might have a climate closer to San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara, just a bit further south. Well, if fortune smiles, maybe I’ll visit in October … to get away from the heat. Oh and Yes! I was hoping you might do a short walk/train ride on the Enoden … or a long one - I’m up for it, if you are! 🚃🙏😅
