  • If you have an existing typical PoE IP camera system, which employed PoE Switch to send both power and data to the PoE IP cameras and there is 100 meters cat5e Ethernet cable between the camera and the switch.
    Sometime you may need to upgrade your system by adding new IP cameras or other IP devices, in this video, Joe is going to show how to add the PoE powered switch at the camera end to expand the PoE ports, so you are able to connect more PoE IP devices without running new cable.

    Hello I’m running cat6 cables throughout my house, my game room has a lot of obstacles to run more wires. I have one cat6 ran to the location, i wat to put some cameras around the area, the line that is there will be used as a main line going into a poe switch so i can power the poe cameras. How do I configure the settings where it will show up on all the screen?

      You can add the PoE passthrough switch at the edge which can handle 7 PoE IP camera. You will need 90W PoE injector another end to supply both power and data to the POE pasthrough switch. www.fastcabling.com/product-category/poe-powered-switch/

    hello. i have a reolink nvr RLN8-410, how do i add a NON reolink ptz ?

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  2 роки тому

      You need to make sure your NVR is Onvif compatible, otherwise, you can add any 3rd party IP camera/PTZ camera to the NVR. Both ends must follow the same protocols and Onvif is open protocols. Usually, the NVR will discover the edge IP camera automatically. You can manually add the IP PTZ camera to the NVR if you know the Onvif port of your camera, but the motion detection may not work.

    Can I connect a computer to poe port to access the cctv camera via desktop

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  3 роки тому

      You can connect the computer to PoE ports. The standard PoE switch will verify the device and determine whether the power should be released or not. The process calls "power handshake". It is safe for the PoE switch to work with non-PoE equipment.

    Hi can you make a demo on this setup. Start point is nvr to poe switch to 250m cable to another poe switch at the end powered by adaptor then to 8 camera. Will it still work or do i need poe range extender?

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  4 роки тому

      There is no need for extra PoE range extender. The 800m ultra PoE switch can send power and data up to 250 meters and power another PoE powered switch at the edge. However, the power budget is only arond 24W which could supply 3 units convenient PoE IP camera. We will make another video to demonstrate the setup.

    I have 16 channel NVR how can configure two poe switch on that NVR and what is the maximum distance NVR to poe switch ?

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  3 роки тому

      The maximum distance is 300 meters. The first 100 meter will be NVR to the first PoE switch, and you got another 100 meters to the second switch. From the second switch, there has 100 meters to the edge cameras. You would better to pick gigabit PoE switch.

    I tried to connect a poe switch to a poe nvr in a distance of 250 meters but it failed to configure

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  11 місяців тому

      That's because the maximum reach for PoE is 100 meters. You can daisy chain 2x PoE extenders or use a long-range PoE switch to extend the distance up to 250M. FYI, some PoE switches can also allow you to extend the distance to 250M by enabling the DIP switch but the speed will drop to 10Mbps.

    I use a 8 port switch connected to nvr. How can I daisy chain another 4 port switch to the current 8 port switch?

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  3 роки тому

      You simply need to connect 4 port switch to one of PoE port at your current switch. The PoE port can work with non-PoE switch. Just don't daisy chain more than three switch between the NVR and the last one.

    Can I use this 800 meter long range switch to connect a computer

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  3 роки тому

      I would suggest you not take longer than 500 meters. The bandwidth will downgrade to 10mbps after 500meters. Moreover, you will need PoE splitter at the edge. The 800m POE switch only work with PoE equipment. While the non-PoE equipment is being attached to the switch, the switch will not release the power, so the PoE adpater will not work. The PoE splitter can trigger the PoE switch to send the power to the PoE adapter at the edge.

    Hi, How can i connect 3 switches to one 32 channel nvr with internet,distance is more than 300 meters

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  3 роки тому +1

      You can link those switches back to an aggregation switch by using fiber optical cable, and attach your NVR to this aggregation switch. Those three edge switches should have SFP slot which allow you to install SFP module for fiber optical connection. There is optional method without involving in fiber optical cable. If there is a little far from 300 meteres, like 320 meters. You can employ ultra long distance switch which allow you to use the cat6 Ethernet cable. The bandwidth is 100mbps with 300 meteres and will start dropping. You may need to cacluate the bandwidth from each of these edge switch (how many cameras with each of those switches). www.fastcabling.com/product/800m-8-port-long-range-poe-switch/ (refer to the diagram after see more at the how it work section)

      أعتقد أنه من الأفضل أن تفكر في ارتباط الألياف الضوئية. سيصبح فقدان الطاقة خطيرًا جدًا بعد 800 متر. لديها سرعة 10 ميجابت في الثانية فقط بعد 500 متر. قد يكون من الكافي التعامل مع كاميرا واحدة.

    What happen if I dont have internet would it still recording

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, the recording doesn't rely on the internet accessing. As long as you can see the video on the NVR, the whole system is working. The internet only provide the remote accessing.

    How do I know the kind of PoE injector I need??

    • @Fastcabling
      @Fastcabling  3 роки тому +1

      You will need to understand the power budget of your edge devices. There is three popular PoE standard IEEE802.3af/at/bt (aka PoE/PoE+/PoE++). There PoE standarad classify the power budget of your edge device. Next, pick the PoE injector matched your edge devices's standard. I assume you are using the standard PoE equipment. If your edge device is not standard PoE, you should understand what kind of voltage your edge device accepts.

      You can add the a PoE extender to increase PoE to another 100 meters. www.fastcabling.com/product/poe-extender-outdoor/ You also can turn on the CCTV mode on your switch if it is available, but the bandwidth of all the PoE ports will be downgraded to 10mbps.
