very knowledgeable, especially when it came to the sfp media connection. You talked about choosing a media most people like fiber optics but one can introduce microwaves ( modulate the inputs into a microwave radio) and send the data over microwave Relays over to a desired destination/ Data Center. I'm in love with your channel.
Thanks for making this informative video. So from what I gather, having external POE switch is more for commercial application with large number of cameras over wide areas. For me, it's just one small house with 3 maybe 4 cameras at the most so a PoE NVR is more than enough for me.
Hey man love your video, very educational. I wanted to know if you could help with an issue I am having. I wanted to know, if I just want to install one camera that is a POE 5MP, do I need a NVR and a POE switch as well? Also, is there an NVR with a POE switch installed, like a combo? Any suggestions?
All nvr's have built in switches in them unless it's a wireless nvr designed for wireless cameras. All you need for 1 camera is 1 nvr with at least one poe channel on it
Is there a way to update the camera system without actually replacing the nvr. I have a 32 channel nvr and having issues with no video on almost half .
Why multiple NVR need to send the data to centralise server ?, each NVRsl stores snd process all the data feeds into it's ports. if you want to centralised the data processing into a server, then use multiple 10/100mbps POE switches, the uplink port connected to gigabit switches ports, using crossover cables. No need fibre...
It doesn't make any sense, "poe ports being shorted" what do you mean? If you're going to spend money on an NVR, I assume you'll install it in a secure location, right? So why are you worried about damaging it?

Nicely explained useful informations ! Thank you !
What about Cat 7 cables? Do the parameters described for cat 5 and cat 6 apply to Cat 7 cables?
I have limited internet, does a wired NVR system only use internet when accessing remotely or using the app or is it always consuming data?

That's insanely useful
Fof home survillence with 4 ip cameras and distance not more than 60ft, NVR with built ij POE switch is recommend or external POE switch.
❤❤❤❤
Do you have an installers community with CCTV security discussions
Thank you

merci / thank's a lot
Thank you for feedback!
I prefer using non Poe nvr and external poe switch..that reduces the chance of damaging a more expensive nvr in case of Poe ports being shorted

I can’t stand PoE NVR’s, they are the worst. Unless it’s a home, but then that’s still a stretch.
What do you use ??? Or recommend??
