Excellent, golf 7 , many videos on line on water leaks, had spent Christmas drying out car and sealing possible leak points with silicon grease, tgen this back light fault, thanks for this video
I'm having the same issue. Will need to try the wire trick. I don't suppose you've got a close up picture of the modified bulb so I can copy it? The strange thing was, the other bulb that in the the black mount had blown and after replacing that, nothing is working 🙄

This just started happening on my car. And just replaced the bulbs too.
