I still watch the series before bed, and at work, and on my day off and during my depressed moments. I watch it no matter what. I’m happy to know the show touched a lot of people, not just me.
I don’t know if you’re ever on TikTok but if you are I highly recommend you look up some of the videos using sounds/scenes from the show. Some of the outfits are amazing and thee humour is on point!!

Well, he deserved it!😂 I mean, come on, if this weren’t a sitcom, some of Maxwell’s behavior towards Niles can be appalling. He sometimes even treats Miss Fine better, than he does him.
@@annetaylor1180 Well, Maxwell explains here in this clip that Niles does a lot of things that would have gotten him fired normally.
But he was still allowed to stay because he was basically family.

This makes me disappointed in Maxwell. Niles does so much for him: house chores, catering, sometimes taking care of the kids and he can’t give the man a raise. Shame on him.
that is his job. Just because he wants a raise there is no reason to give him one.
@@LednacekZ If he was just an employee that would make sense. But its clear that Max and Niles are also friends. So it makes Max's sort of stern behavior sort of out of place. True, Niles did just bust in there and just demanded a raise for no apparent reason, but Max should have at least been curious why Niles was so obviously upset.
@@Omega6489 They might be friendly to each other from time to time, but he is the help and there is a distinct class divide. There are certain taboos in British society and money is one of the. He could have asked for anything and Maxwell would probably agree, but more pay is not acceptable.

TBF both Fran and Niles get room and board, no restrictions on sharing the same luxuries the family enjoys and an inappropriate level of familiarity.
It's a great job even at minimum wage.

CC actually looking / sounding genuinely concerned when she sees Fran so worried that she's gone briefly speechless. See, she has a heart! She just... usually doesn't bring it with her to work, is all. She's a traditional upperclass woman in that way : tiny, valuable, easy-to-lose things get left locked up in safety deposit boxes for safe keeping, and inspected or aired-out annually. Just sensible.

Well, she said in a recent interview, that her slim figure was due to anxiety, stress and depression, that she was underweight and was actually trying to gain some weight.

Ok so I’m confused. Maxwell said he found Niles playing the ukelele on a London sidewalk, but in the episode where Maxwell’s old nanny comes to visit he remembers him as a baby, he even said his first word was “NILES!”🤔
Also if that’s the case, how old is Niles then? To have already been a butler to the Sheffield’s when Maxwell was a baby?😳
Niles wasn't a baby when Max's nanny was still his nanny because she was having an affair with him; she said he was still young, though. I'd say Niles is about 10 to 20 years older than Max (who is just turning 40 when the show starts, making NIles being 50-60, 50 being the age of the actor in the pilote episode). If Max's not lying about how he hired Niles, maybe Niles resigned during the time Max moved to America and when he found out about Niles, he hired him because he already knew him and this was a more stable job that he accepted for that same reason.

If Maxwell had ever found out the reason why Niles had quit, there's no doubt that he would've threatened to fire Fran for it and would've told her that there is no way he ever payed her that absured amount of money, whatever the amount was that she had put on the credit card application.
Why would he threaten to fire her for something that was private anyway?
Its not like Fran bragged about it and rubbed the lie in Niles’s face. He poked his nose in her private stuff. Niles being Fran’s friend should have suspected she lied. I mean in how strict credit card companies are its not a surprise she would lie

I think for Fran it was episode 1x18 Sunday in the Park with Fran when Mr Sheffield kisses her for the first time because she gave an amazing review of his show saving his career!
I think for Mr. Sheffield it was 2x15 Kindervelt Days when he shows up at her camp reunion and rescues her from embarrassment by pretending to be her man and they dance for the first time!

I think they both were in love with each other before the episode where she was about to marry Danny. Maxwell told her that he couldn't be happier for her and she looked disappointed when he said that but he look like he didn't mean it at all
@@cannadybell8219 that was the episode following the Deep Throat where she was in the hospital and said I love you while medicated, Schlepped Away when they spent the weekend at Fran's parent's, Stop The Wedding I Want To Get Off when his sister married her driver and Sunday In The Park With Fran where he kissed her for the first time when she saved his play by giving a glowing review! I think those 4 episodes solidified their bond and they definitely began to fall for each other!
or, you know...It's an American family sitcom from the 90s and you rarely saw them openly showing sexual relationships or even talking about sex.
well there were also instances in later seasons where Fran was 100% horny/desperate/ready to sleep with a guy but stuff like "steaming hot guy turns out to be your 87th cousin" happened 😂

I still watch all The Nanny and Friends I can get on UA-cam ❤❤❤❤ I should just buy the shows already lol. I have the I love Lucy collection and my sister has the office collection. I don’t recall it being shown over here in the UK, and I’ve only recently discovered it. My gawd......it’s just so awful. Lousy acting, especially by that dude Maxwell, the dreadful dialogue, the foghorn thing from Flushing. I do like Niles, but it takes more than his pithy comments to make this train wreck watchable. This crap should’ve been kept locked away after it’s 90s showings. Nobody deserves to have to listen to that trashy loud female screeching through their headphones/speakers.
