Hi Shilpa, in the reclined leg raising poses - yes keep the thoracic area connected to the mat. The lumbar area may not be touching the mat if we are in neutral. We want to contain the abdomen and lower front ribs whilst taking care that the spine is stabilised (ie no movement in the spine) only the thigh bone moves in the pelvis.
