What a bunch of experiences! In Zealand I am fascinated by the unregulated rivers that flow freely through the valleys.Their color varies from glacial white to turquoise green.Real gem.Paddling recquires concentration so thanks to your own video you had the opportunity to see where you have been driving.,,😊Hello from Czechia.Enjoy!
My husband and I visited NZ years ago,we drove around the South and North islands in a rented car,but as tourists so I am very interested in your videos.I will look with you in places that I would not have been able to get to.Thank you very much!@@ChrisandDanya
Yeah it's pretty amazing! When we were there a few days prior it didn't look anything like that since it had been raining for about 2 weeks non-stop. Luckily it cleared right up for the raft
This adventure had it all! How cool was the trolley thing! Epic video, can’t wait to see your channel absolutely blow up cause honestly, that was so enjoyable to watch, hooked from the start!
@@c.gtramping All the hiking and packrafting was shot on a GoPro Hero 10, but the shots of walking around the gorge at the end were shot on a Panasonic GH6
We did a course in Queenstown and then purchased our rafts through them. Highly recommend taking a course. There's only so much technique they can teach you, but the safety aspects and how to read the river are crucial
Awesome fun it looks. Can a novice raft down this particular section of river to the Gorge? Or would be best to get some kind of training in first. Thanks
@nathanbates1260 we're in Perth right now! There is a site called packraftingtrips.nz that gives you a breakdown of some of the popular river runs across NZ. A goos entry level one could be the Capless River near Glenorchy/Queenstown. That's the first trip we did on our own. The main rapids are near the end and can easily be portaged
Nice video Chris and Danya, I'd been planning to do this trip this summer. Do you mind if I ask what camera you use? The audio in particular sounds good to me. Thanks again!
I'm using an Alpacka Gnarwhal and Danya is using an Alpacka Wolverine. All the hiking and packrafting was shot on a GoPro Hero 10, but the shots of walking around the gorge at the end were shot on a Panasonic GH6
My red one is about ~3.3 kg and Danyas is a bit lighter at ~3.1kg. There's a bunch of different models between 1.5 - 3.5 kg that are all rated for different whitewater. Then you've got to factor in the weight of the other gear like helmet, PFD, wetsuit/drysuit, paddle, throw bags and other safety gear. You're looking at another 2 kg on-top of the raft at least, ours is probably more like 3 kg
We don't really have any travel plans for the next few years. Moving back to Canada next year and will be there for quite a while. Haven't looked into Kashmir, but will take a look now 🙏
This safety video should be shown on all Air New Zealand flights. Thanks guys, I'm happy to watch. Cheers
Thank you Richard! 🙏
blue water, that's an amazing place !
One of the best on the West Coast!

That’s a top edit brother, the back and forth for the camera, makes some truly beautiful cut shots. 👌
Thanks brotha! 🙏❤️
This was a fun one
Did the gorge in a car tube a few years ago. Keen to hit it in my packraft after seeing this!
Definitely worth it! A few adrenaline pumping parts for less experienced packrafters, but overall a really good trip
This adventure had it all! How cool was the trolley thing! Epic video, can’t wait to see your channel absolutely blow up cause honestly, that was so enjoyable to watch, hooked from the start!

Haven't done anything in the north island. But check out PRANZ and packraftingtrips.co.nz
There's a few nice rivers in the NI. Posting a vid of Whirinaki river next week. Check it out 👌🏽

Hey Chris and Danya
Did you do a course for the pack rafting? Did you buy your own rafts?
I’m a kiwi living in WA, but this looks like a heap of fun

Definitely need to do a beginners course first and go on some easier trips before tackling this one. Packrafting Queenstown runs a good course!
@@ChrisandDanya Thanks. Coming over from Perth soon so will check them out. Thanks 🙏

In this video we mainly used a GoPro Hero 10, but we have a wind sock type thing around it which helps stop most wind from messing up the audio
cheers@@ChrisandDanya

How much do those rafts weigh?
