- I Bought 44 Broken Handheld Game Consoles from eBay - Can I Fix Them? I paid a total of $560 for these 44 handhelds which works out to about $12 each. I'm hoping to be able to repair most of them and make a good profit overall.

In this video, I replace the speaker in a Game Boy Color, remove some serious corrosion from a Game Boy Advance, and fix some battery problems in a few Game Boy Advance SP's. I also find that one of the Game Boy Advance SP's was infested with little cockroaches! Gross! But with this many handhelds we're going to have to do a Part 2 next week so stay tuned for that when I work on repairing some 2DS, 2DS XL, 3DS, 3DS XL, DS Lite, DSi, DSi XL, and PSP handhelds.

About This Video: In this video I take you with me as I unpack and diagnose 44 handhelds. It takes a while but stick around until the end to see me fix some Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy Advance SP handhelds. The rest I'm trying to fix next time so make sure you come back for that.
Next one: I bought 20 shattered Relationships and lets see how i can fix them
Dude can do anything! 💪
"So far I'm not seeing anything wrong with the external components, so let's open them up and see what's inside!"
Flex tape cant fix that my guy
*fixes all* me: WTF
Hey just so you know the infestation of “baby cockroaches” could very well be bed bugs. I personally would treat with extreme caution and turf that whole unit.
@Cannon lol
Gross...🤢
BEDBUGS DONT DIE, WE BUG BOMBEDTHE ENTIRE HOUSE 3 TIMES AND THERE STILL HERE
@@tylermaxwell9687 THEY LIVE ON FABRIC. WASH ALL YOUR CLOTHES.
@@eddiew.4650 It doesn’t matter... Once they get in area, THEY STAY PUT FOR THE REST OF TIME
I swear the hinges on the DS lite were so fragile.
Mine are busted as well :(
I don't understand how bugs get in there or why ?!
Ya, it’s gross!
TronicsFix it is bedbugs maybe be careful
Easy dirty cu😊😊s
trough the small cracks especially with a regular gameboy advance there are gaps near where the batteries sit so they can crawl trough there
Emilio Gallardo Ohhhkayy then
PSPs: "Never really caught on"
Also PSPs: 10th best selling console of all time
I think he probably mistook it with the PS Vita.
10 best out of the 10
I have one
PSPs were poppin idk what he was talking about
Almost every country consider DS the best handled console for a while. While my country just loves PSPs so much. I dont get why DS don’t get recognition in my country.
“The old days when everything was held together by screws”
Sounds like my parents’ marriage...
I dont care from what universe your from that's gotta hurt
😶
Same bro same
Ouch
Ouch
The infested one was actually disgusting
Agreed. I sort of want to fix it still but have to find the parts and do some major cleaning.

Seeing consoles with liquid damage always makes me wonder how it happened.. Anybody else besides me ever wonder about this?
🤮it was nasty
Fixing computers for a living, that's nothing.
I just started watching your channel and now I'm convinced that you can fix anything.
You are a legend.
Keep fixing and keep making great videos!
Thanks for watching! I wish I could fix anything...but it's still fun to try!
Go watch the episode where he fixes a playstation.. blindfolded.
oh so your the guy I keep getting out bidded by....
Ha, ha...sorry about that...lol
I was so proud that i took my calculator apart and put it back toghether not working my first time long ago
That's great! Nice work.
I'll have to do that with my TI-85 one of these days. The screen is dying. Though I'm not super optimistic. It'll be more challenging than fixing a broken wire inside my electric hand mixer, that's for sure.
Plot Twist: The batteries were all dead so he had to charge them
that would be so fricking annoyoing
fire hazards
@@CodedDespair that would be awesome if that was the only problem
Man, some of these are really beat up! My DS Lite that I've had for like 14+ years is still in really good condition externally. Only problem I have with it is it sometimes doesn't read carts, but is usually resolved by popping the cart out and back in, sometimes a few times
Shrek 2 the game
"HUZZAH A MAN OF QUALITY"
But Shrek 2 on GBA was actually good.
yeah man, do a custom ds lite , replacing the shell with something cool !!
The AGB-001 is probably my favorite handheld of all time. The form factor is just great. I'm doing a IPS mod on my old GBA next month ^^
My first handheld was the Nintendo DSi XL Mario 25th Anniversary Edition. It had Super Mario symbols and everything on it and it was the coolest thing I had. Sadly it no longer works because one of the power wires disconnected from the connector for some unknown reason. I still have it though. Maybe I'll fix it one day.
Me : Searches a good 3DS
This guy : Buys all 3DS`s on the world
Did you used to have one and the power kept training and you aren't able to charge it cuz me to
@@BattleBorg69 what
That Gameboy color with the replaced battery panel looks, in my opinion, great. The slightly different color gives it character. Like a scar on a hero's face, it says it survived and is ready for action :)
I love the DS startup chime. So nostalgic!

.
My predictions for the potential problems for each device based on my experience with them.
Game boy colour : Batteries not being held in. That's the only issue mine has had since my dad bought it when it came out.
Game boy advance : Never own one but a friend did. Delay from pressing buttons to the action appearing on the screen.
Game boy advance SP : Never had any problems.
DS Lite : Top screen falling off. Yes. Falling off. The hinges broke very often.
DS i : Bad top screen. Or damaged components leading to nothing appearing on the top screen.
PSP : Never had one.
2DS : Never wanted to even touch em.
DS i XL : Nothing. I upgraded & sold it.
New style 2 DS : Never had one.
3DS : Charge port!!! 3 different ones in 2 weeks...
3DS XL : Absolutely nothing. My first & current one is still going. And frankly, it shouldn't be. Being at the bottom of a lake for 20 minutes(I was lucky for it to be found so soon), flying out my hands on the highway, being run over and being knocked out of my hands into cake batter. It realy should not be in perfect condition. But that's why I can't foresee any problems for this one.
Oh yeah, the 3DS XL is great and pretty sturdy.
seeing the pink ds lites fill me with so much nostalgia, my first game console was a pink dslite
Just going thru all your videos and I have ALWAYS wanted to learn about repairing and fixing consoles/phones, now it just makes me wanna buy some and try to fix them for myself :)
I need your help figuring out something about my old ps3 console.
Your videos have inspire me to work on my old ps3 fat 180 gig.
I thought the problem was just old heat sink paste, I cleaned it and added new paste. but unfortunately it wasn't it.
My ps3 turns off a second right after the light turns green, and then flashes 2 times in red.
I thought I could restored it back to life after watching your videos. They're great inspiration.
Idk what else to do, please help me if possible. Just what could be wrong with it.
maybe one of the parts has become internally disconnected
Man, finding this channel was like finding a treasure in this sea call UA-cam, i just wish the repair segment last at least two hours!!!!
The Blue DSIXL reminds me of mine, no pen, broken charge and I lost it a while back...
Dude, I always watch your videos and I find them relaxing. Thank you!
I love ifixit! You should have their repair manifesto on your wall behind you in your videos, especially as a repairman!
Seeing the other colours of the gameboy advance fp makes me glad I have the special gold zelda one
something about warching these repairs is very therapeutic
4:21 I had the EXACT same one
SAME
I bought 20 fully functional Dsi, Ds Lite and Ds for 100$💪
I have a DS Lite, haven’t played it that much anymore but still works like a charm the last I knew ! And it has a dark blue back like the one in the video :0
Smart man. This kind of video makes me happy
I so want to do this, just for a hobby... well, ifixit kit is in the house, next up: soldering equip :'D
"part two is on your screen now." summer 2022, still waiting...
Some of the Gameboy Advance SP's are the AGS 101 model's which bring a lot of Money in thanks to the BACKLIGHT SCREEN. You can sell those for like 100 €/$/£. Usually this GBA SPs Screen are used for further "GameBoy" modding!
The Pokemon Edition is a regular size New 3DS. That model is very rare in north america because it barely released here and the Pokemon Red/Blue edition was only available by pre-order.
Great video bud. Can't wait for the second part.
I used to have a ds lite for around 8 years and the top screen broke off. I havn't seen it for ao long but that dark blue was tue color mine was. In general it was a major nostalgia trip.
My quarantine remedy 🙂😄
That's just awesome video my man. With the blue 2DS was the game slot not working cause of region reason or was it faulty? Good job man
I don’t get it, why dislike this awesome video, this finally gave me something to watch🥳
The New Nintendo 3DS has interchangeable faceplates.
I have the same DSI xl still works and I still use it
This video brings me back to when i had a Ds Lite. It got stolen from my parents car when we where eating in a restaurant. 😑😞
did they leave doors unlocked or windows open?
Na they broke the lock on my dads car
i like your workflow bro, but i love your video thumbnails, reminds me of hide the pain harold
I had a lime green game boy color just like that. And that dark blue ds lite.
Ds lites have to be powered off and then you need to put in the game and power it back on so you can see if the game slot works
Where do you get all of these "treasure boxes" you show during your incredible videos?
Love from India brother. Keep rocking 🤟🏼
Gameboy color GREEN my favorite!
Psp never caught off compared to 3ds...
Psp sold more units than 3ds actually. Maybe you meant DS or vita? But around 80M sold consoles isn't bad at all.
Wonder how many of the DSs had issues with the L or R buttons. Had to get a couple replacements as a kid because those would exclusively stop working without any rhyme or reason.
I have a 10 year old Dsi in perfect condition and honestly I prefer that to most other consoles
with all the tech we have, you could probably scan and 3d print GB battery covers
9:47 I'd like to see a restoration of one (if you haven't done one already - I'll go search through your videos after I watch this one!)
Omg Lucky Luke was actually my first game ever, and its actually awesome^^
Wow this is technician free course, 👍😁
I got inspired by your videos and started doing cleaning and fixing on my old consoles and games. So far I have restored 2 snes and 1 nes controller to working condition. The pads are still a little mushy, but they work now. Do you have a website recommendation for buying replacement controller pads?
Do you have a link for the little knife used to open the packages, that’s really nice!!!
That deserves an applause...!👏
The AGS 001 GBA SP is front lit while the 101 is backlit
Awesome! Could you link where you buy your GBA SP batteries? I only seem to find ones with different parameters from the original batteries...
The 3DS’ with two circle pads are actually the New 3DS XLs or New 3DSes I’m not too sure.
10:50 i once destroyed an actually fine ds lite because i didnt have a charger but it still had some battery when i got it but i didnt have a charger
Oh the nostalgia...
Specially the gameboy advanced sp's and the PSP's
Cant wait for part 2!!!!!
I have a white ds lite that doesn’t turn on at all. Could you repair it, and would it be expensive?
I had Lucky Luke as a kid. That game slaps
I don't know if you heard about someone building their own Switch. If you could try to make your own Switch I think it would be a awesome video to watch.
It makes me so happy to see this consoles get a second chance ahh
Your the game console doctor.
Great video! Keep them coming...
My Gameboy Advance SP has the same orange light problem. Glad it's just a battery change. Can you link the batteries you buy for the SPs, please? I've seen a bunch and not sure which one are the better ones.
Bro the charizard ds I wish I could get my hands on one
Hi I love your videos I've used some of your vids to do some repairs I just wanted to know which thermal paste do you use?
The special edition is a New 3DS
It was part of the gimmick that u could change the design with different plates
I got that one 6:33 and that flip red gameboy but the 3ds does not work maybe I can send it to you to idk but the reason it looks like people opened it is the back and front plates come of and you can switch it with a different Pokémon
Best channel ever.. Keep goin'
OMG WHERE IS THE 2ND PART I CANT WAIT
May I ask what liquid solution you're using to clean components? I'd like to find something strong and alcohol-based if possible but which is safe for plastics/screens.
I bet there's money to be made 3d printing plastic replacement parts for old handhelds, battery covers or buttons and such
This guy living my dream
That Mario DS Lite was a limited console for the 25th anniversary of Super Mario.
im curious as to where you get these pallets from im intrested in doing this as a hobbie. love your videos
What’s the chance that the one with battery corrosion will have the same issue again?
This is so cool! I wish I were this tech savvy. XD I've had a DSi for around 8 years or so, and about a year ago it stopped working. The lights came on when plugged into the charger, but the screen was black. Is this something that would be easy to fix?
I have a problem with the Xbox and not running it has left a black screen
Of course there's an ifixit add on a video where he mentions ifixit
Btw the psp, while eclipsed by the sales of the DS, actually sold more units than the 3ds at around 80 million
if you have a 3D printer you can fix it with the gameboy advance and color :O
can you do a helios 300 reburbished laptop review pleaaaseee
Is there anyway we can look for what your selling that you managed to fix?
Dang I would I’ve a 3ds, I haven’t had one in years and the one I had, battery wouldn’t charge for a while and I had to almost break the charger so it could work. The game slot wouldn’t work and it mostly wouldn’t read games it was frustrating and I still have it but is useless.
i had a dsi xl just like that one and my mom gave it away without asking me 🥺 I miss it so much
I wonder if you could 3D print a battery cover.
Where do you find these on ebay? Would love to buy some and try fixing them💓
You joke about Lucky Luke, but it's a great game.
Where are you selling the ones you refurbished :0?
1:12 is that a roach I saw crawling around in that box (reference to 2:12)
