About This Video: I do a lot of repairs in this video, including some basic stuff like cleaning the game slots in a DS Lite and a 2DS. I also replace the lower digitizer in a DSI and the lower screen in another DSI, put a new charge port in a DS XL, replace the UMD drive in a couple PSP's. I replace the right shoulder button and fix the charge port in a 3DS and reflow the charge and pwer chip in a 3DS XL. And my favorite fix: replacing the motherboard in a Pokemon 20th Anniversary Edition 3DS XL. Thanks for watching. - Навчання та стиль

I just stumbled upon your channel and I never expected them to be so therapeutic and calming. It's a satisfying feeling to just watch you repair consoles and phones. It got me hooked, subscribed and the bell on. Always waiting for such content.

DS Lite does not support "hot swapping" the games. They have to be inserted when booting up. So some of them might not be broken after all :)
Yep...I remembered that partially through the video so I checked everything again.

This man is saving all these dead and broken machines from some very irresponsible people.
The thing about 30 year old stock that's new in box is that it was never loved while many of these machines were and it makes engineers happy to know they were. Beloved electronics much like a good relationship just require work sometimes.

Just wanted to let you know that the DS and DS Lite can NOT read cartridges without being turned off again first so:
Turn off, insert card, turn on.
Could have bern that it would have already worked without being taken apart! :)

that's a weird thing to not support. 3ds did it just fine. oh well. at least they still work well.

And he wasn't together with his Nintendo DS that played the melody just for him/her 😔😢
The date/time did reset after pulling out the battery, and I think the original owner didn't care about the birthday date (or that person's birthday was on 1/1)
@@ChannelRay98 You are wrong in this case! The Battery wasn't taken out at this point, also if you take the battery out and it resets it's still not just gonna play the melody because it wasn't even setup! Thats driving me nuts atm.
What about methanol?? I've tested it on a few boards screens and components and it seems to work great. I acquired it via a fractional distillation of denatured alcohol. A MSDS on the company's website declares it to be 10% methanol 90% ethanol. Although seems more like 30% methanol 70% ethanol according to boiling points and final yield. Saving the ethanol for 🤲😷☣

So glad you're enjoying my videos!
This video inspired me to go fix the broken 2DS I had laying around and I’m glad I did, thank you.
yeah you gotta be real careful with those. I never broke a handheld, but that's because i treat it like my baby.
Freaking yeah! Another video just when I was about to go to sleep. Watching your channel made me go and customize my own consoles. It's so much easier to tinker with electronics after watching your channel regularly. Much love, keep up the good work!
13:35 - It doesn't miss any screws. These two screw holes are for accessories like camera etc. :)
I like your repair videos. It's very educating and enjoyable. Greetings from Poland :)
If the screen is defective the 2DS won't turn on, check if you connected all the ribbons properly. I've repaired a few in the past.
Yep, that's a common problem. The ribbons are all good. Thanks for the tip though!
Did you ever test the L/R buttons on the DS Lites? It seems to be one of the most common issues and I never saw you test them in your previous videos. Be sure to test those before you resell them as 'good'.
2 out of my 11 DS's (Consoles I mentioned last week) won't play games so going to follow what you did and will update you in a few days.
Be sure to comment back so others know if it works too!
Can't wait to hear back!
Yeah let us know!
LET US KNO THIS IS AS HYPE AS THE VID
Eleven DS's? Holy mother of Sheik, I only have one 3DS. 😂
I want to thank you. Your channel gave me the confidence to tackle fixing my 12-year-old sons drone. I was able to make the repair and my son and I just spent the weekend flying the drone around.
The PSP UMD drives are really interesting, because there are 2 switches that tell them to turn on. If one fails or is damaged, the drive won't spin because both switches need to be depressed to work. If you ever have a PSP that won't read UMDs, make sure it's spinning before messing with the laser assembly itself.
I'm surprised the 2DS screens are one piece. I would have expected them to save money and just use their existing stock, with separate screens.
its accually cheaper
Great job.
If you can't find alcohol, your local liquor store probably has Everclear or some kind of 190 proof clear alcohol, which is the same thing... Costs a little more, but they have it.....
I've heard that works but never tried it.

your videos inspired me, my corsair keyboard had a sticky key where it double presses constantly, so i took it apart and cleaned it up cleaned the pcb and now its perfectly fine
You inspire me to make my own repairs on this type of stuff! I love these videos, keep up the work :)
I love seeing these old, well loved consoles being brought back to life. I hope all of the ones that got resold are being enjoyed like they once were. I just found my old ds lite from 2nd grade and decided to take it in to get it fixed instead of buying a new one because I've been using it to play old GBA games and it's been great.
I still have my Mario DS Lite but the hinge broke, the top screen is dangling by the wires, and wont turn on cause my sis dropped it constantly. Man the memories I had with it!
Those are cool!
My hinges are still in place, powered on my DS and played Pokemon diamond! I have a lvl 100 Shiny staraptor!
I am pretty sure a lot of the time that home screen buttons issue can be caused by the WiFi Chip, because the system is trying to get the wifi status to show at the top of screen, however it can't find it so it's just stuck
The ds's with the "not reading games" wasn't broken it just never reads games that are inserted after it turns on. XD
Well, mine does just that
I was thinking that too coz mine does that it’s standard on DS Lite consoles its even in the manual
@@marlond8347 there are different revisions of dslite motherboards so some of them will detect a card when powered on and some need to be rebooted in order to detect a card
@@momfiethehunter504 thanks for clarifying!
Mine couldn't do it back in the days so I just asumed it was every revision up until the DSi version which I for sure know can hot swap!

UA-cam recomended me your channel few months ago, I clicked on that video because I was bored, then I spent whole evening watching your videos :) now I cant wait for more ;)
the most interesting one was the reflow on the 3ds, generally the blue light stays on longer than that, so I knew you had something different going on than a broken backlight connection.
nice fix.
it's a shame they hid the CPU under the game slot
I want to thank you for doing this. Ive been watching for a while. Then I decided to give it a try for myself. I have alot of fun doing it and add a little money in my pocket. Thanks again man.

I know all of you were saying “YES! Part 2”😁
I love how you can forget one of those ds cartridges in your pocket and do a load of clothes and they're just fine
I remember when I tried to fix my 3DS after throwing my CD binder on top of it. I cracked the top screen so I ordered a new one. It did not end well for me. I tore the ribbon cable on the new screen and just wound up buying the cheapest used 3DS I could find.
Ribbon cables are evil. that happens.
Hey Steve! Earlier this year my sister gave me her PSP (same model as the ones you had) to see if I could fix it. It would not turn on nor would it charge. I deduced that the battery was dead (it hadn’t been used for a few years) so I found a battery on ebay to replace it and it worked perfectly 😀.
Damn I never thought of just cutting the old port off, putting USB C on my 3DS was such a pain in the ass since I was trying to get all the pads hot at once.
A lot of times when the 3DS does that 3 seconds with blank screen then power off with pop, it means the camera ribbon cable got kinked. If you unplug the ribbon it will still boot and play games but will crash when you do anything with the cameras.
Super common issue when taking apart that thing due to the 3 overlapping ribbons in that area. So make sure you test the cameras. You can probably still sell it if you disclose it, most people and games don't use the cameras.
Been following for some time, did mobile repairs many moons ago so enjoy watching your channel, when it comes to your bulk buy, it would be nice to have the video longer or split the items in two videos and make each longer when the video is short you tend to fly throught everything so fast, but still enjoy it
17:17 that’s a weird looking pikachu
Lol its just the screen for Pokemon's 20th Anniversary for the games Pokemon Sun and Moon
My PSP-1000 works perfectly fine, but at some point ages ago the power slider fell out, so I ended up having to use objects like pens and golf tees to turn it on and off. Eventually I realized I can just use the corner of the memory stick, and after maybe 15 years of doing that I finally broke off one of the pins on the stick earlier this year and the memory stick stopped working.

"You can shop in your PJ's or on your computer" Goddammit I just went to the bathroom and someone invented smart PJ's
They all looked very simple to fix, but #42 was amazing, didn't know you can actually reflow the chip without a reballing machine or something. Amazing work, hope these consoles make you a good profit. Incredible how many consoles are thrown away as junk, only needing some cleaning or battery change. Thinking about buying some junk stuff here in Japan too.
I've been waiting for this all week 😌😌😌😌😌 they're soooooooo satisfying

Gonna leave my feedback here, i like more videos where you repair just one thing, because you focus in more details and i learn more stuff, in this video is a rush, like this is the problem, change this, is ready, next.
Dont get me wrong, this are good videos too, but in my personal opinion i prefer much more individual or maybe 2 or 3 of the same machine.
I appreciate the advice; I got a 'broken' ds lite from ebay, and the only problem was dirty pins. The bottom screen is slightly scratched, but it's not much of a problem to me. I don't really trust myself with screen replacement.

13:09 - Nintendo's handheld names were so bad for the 3DS lineup that for a second I thought "1 2DS" was another model Nintendo released. 🤣
I just wanna add another comment that request that TronicsFix does another handheld focused video. I love these videos because so many different things can be the issue and the outcome is pretty varied. Plus, so many handhelds are considered “junk” that just need a little TLC. PLEASE PLEASE!

My first TV I picked it up from the trash outside a neighbor's house. took it home, opened it up and saw there was a small glass tube that looked burnt. I was 11 and had never opened up a TV, also I knew nothing about repairing tvs. but I went to radioshack and they sold me a replacement fuse for like 30 cents. went back home, replaced the fuse and I had a working TV. after that I got hooked on picking stuff from the curb and trying to repair it. I failed with most. but a lot of things I actually repaired and if I already had one I sold it really cheap. VCRs made me some good money.

use a pencil eraser on copper parts to clean them up. It might make short work of the ribbon cables. Just a regular old number 2 pencil eraser or a pink eraser for the economist. it also works great on pennies and copper contacts on video games cartridges.

With PSP UMDs you might wanna first check if the laser works by clicking a small button inside, if it works then try cleaning the lens with IPA it just might be dirty, if that doesn't work then the UMD drive is dunked. Good video btw
at 0:51 I remember getting that exact kind of DS for a christmas present, was just standard daily use and the hinge on it broke in that exact same way! just from normal use, I wonder if it was the dye they used with the plastic, or low quality plastic in those production models, cause that kinda blows me away that I'm seeing one again that I owned with the exact same kind of damage on it
