Riding on a UH-1H Huey of the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation. Restored to markings and equipment of a Huey of A/229th Avn. Bn. during the Vietnam War. Orlando, Florida, July, 2011.
after many times flying in the Huey in Viet Nam,50 years later I took another ride in one at an Airshow in TN. At 5,000 ft',no doors and sitting on the edge looking out AND down,,,I was lets say very concerned as to why I was doing this,,,,,the young rider of along time ago had "faded away" and the grandpa was in His place....Glory days had ended for me...but will never forget the SOUND,,,just plain AWESOME
Terrific book, brought the reality of Vietnam to life. Recommend this read to anybody who has vague doubts about the hell the boys and girls lived through in a Godforsaken useless country.
Planning on buying a huey in the next few years, to do volunteering search and rescue in British Columbia Canada with it. Youll be very welcome come for a ride!
This was our daily ride. I always like being upstairs. Our ride was a bit more CRAZY. I actually took my first ride in June 2021 since November 1969. Brings back old memories.
That place looks familiar. I've been there it's in Orlando on International Drive. I've taken about 10 helicopter rides there but never seen the Huey. That's awesome to ride in a Huey!
Cordiali saluti.
Gentlemen, excellent M60 replica. Until I saw them from the gunners position, I thought they were real. Excellent work. Thank you for your service. God bless you.
i always enjoy a great aerial view as the next guy, The part that kills me is the guy in the video twisting his shoe outside the door, didnt take much to entertain him lol...still a great vid from above Orlando....
Even though the Huey reminds all of us of American defeat in Nam, and pales in comparison of size and performance to the Soviet Mi8, it the most iconic helicopter in history. Paired with its versatility compared to the bulky and huge Mi8, it makes for a helicopter that can take on many many roles

Beautiful bird. I've flown many times in a Huey, and parachuted out of one many times. Love Hueys!
I have many hours as a door gunner in the UH-1E. The Marines are still flying the UH-1Y &Z models. It's a great aircraft.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!
From one Screaming Eagle to another, Thanks, Joe

Hot extraction! Reading Bob Mason's 'Chickenhawk' brought me here.
Terrific book, brought the reality of Vietnam to life. Recommend this read to anybody who has vague doubts about the hell the boys and girls lived through in a Godforsaken useless country.
I'm still waiting to find one of the old Hueys at an airshow that features rides. Been 45 years and I'd LOVE to do it one more time.
My first ride was in 1980. Would become a eunuch if I could fly in one again.
Planning on buying a huey in the next few years, to do volunteering search and rescue in British Columbia Canada with it. Youll be very welcome come for a ride!
