She’s one of the best vocalist in contemporany music. Excellent songwriting, excellent technique but also excellent interpretation. She’s not as famous as others singers it’s not bad. Who will discover her, he/she will enter on a different dimension;) Great reaction.
she was signed by a US co in late 80's cut an album it didnt sell well because she is not a pop singer also she was at a level far above anyone in the states Co stonewalled her better than WH MC CD at that time. Sad how US record companies push away many of the most talented to push their mostly good and a few great voices on the sheep
Phenomenal singer. Has to be one of the best in the world. I have been listening to her for years. She sings Adagio in Italian as well. Wow UA-cam has just discovered this lady over the last few years. Where have you all been ? 🤣🤣🤣👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️👍♥️🇬🇧
i am most assuredly no musical expert so when i introduce one of her performances to a friend i simply tell them that " more than any other singer i have ever heard Lara sings from her heart and your heart will hear " Lara Fabian lives her music.
So happy you're doing more Lara, great analysis! She calls herself a "songwriter with a voice", so you were on the mark with that. This song is based on the classical piece Adagio in G minor, published in 1958 by Remo Giazotto, based on a scrap of music by Tomaso Albinoni . It's a love song to songwriting, begging the powers of inspiration to not abandon her. It's even more powerful when you listen with that in mind, you hear her very soul. There's just no one else who does to me what Lara does, even in languages I don't understand. You have to do Je Suis Malade (same concert) next, it's the greatest performance of any song I've ever seen!
Btw, she created lyrics for this in English, because the tenor José Carreras, who was very, very popular in Europe at the time, was the first singer to sing this piece in a crossover album of 1996. The lyrics were in Italian then and it is also a terrific version. That gave proof it could be sung in the first place. I’m so glad that Lara wrote those lyrics and rendered it with so much passion! Indeed Jose’s album which contained the song is itself entitled Passion! 😁
Hi Caleb, great reaction. Lara Fabian is wonderful and unique. Her tone is so good. Pleas do "Je suis Malade" and "Broken Vow" (which she co-wrote)> Btw, she wrote the lyrics of Adagio.
Love, love the fabulous beautiful talented singer/ songwriter Lara Fabian that I fell in love with the very first time I heard her sing Adagio. I love her more after I heard about her warmth and praised Dinash's version of Adagio in The Singer 2017 singing competition. And now she wrote the lyrics of Dimash new song Your Love. Thank you Caleb for your great admiration in Miss Lara.
Hello from Brazil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷 I love Lara Fabian! She is the best perfomer! Voice...emotion...breath... everything I need to feel a music in my soul!❤❤❤❤ She has so many amazing songs... unfortunately "Adagio" and "Je suis malade" are more famous.. but they are great too.
I have always loved this song ! But to hear it sang in English by the amazing Lara I can understand the lyrics now! WOW! She’s a beautiful woman with a phenomenal voice! Love her ♥️♥️⭐️⭐️👏👏♥️
Great reaction. I just discovered her about 6 months ago. I'm not usually one to fangirl, but her performance of Je Suis Malade from the same concert was literally jaw-dropping for me. And down the rabbit hole I went. She has INCREDIBLE technique. Every single one of the hundred choices she makes in every phrase is stellar. But the thing that impresses me the most is that she gives everything in service of the song - not just to "show off" her instrument. Add the fact that she writes/co-writes most of her songs, sings competently in a dozen languages, speaks four fluently . . .well! I hope you'll consider doing more reaction vids to her performances. I enjoyed it and learned a lot from your comments.
I really appreciate your comments. I agree completely with what you said about her not showing off. She writes and sings the most amazing and complex melodies without ever showing off. I first heard Je Suis Malade during the 2018 Olympics when a pair of Canadian skaters used it, the announcer said they called Lara "their soul on the ice". I was as captivated by the song as I was the skaters and grabbed my phone to find it, and as you said, went down the greatest rabbit hole ever! Here's the skating video if you want to see it ua-cam.com/video/n1SHJfg9pNg/v-deo.html
@@CalebColesMusic Another commenter brought up a good point: here's a version of Je Suis Malade with English subtitles if you need them (like I definitely do!😃)ua-cam.com/video/dVvlmpo5g9k/v-deo.html
Awesome ! She is not only an incredible singer but also a fabulous performer, you just can't help but "feel" the song as she sings ! And now "Je suis malade", same concert ! ^^
Her physical beauty is only matched by her incredible talent. She brings tears of joy to my eyes every time. No other artist evokes that kind of emotion from me.
I think your analise is so good because it brings to us not only the musical and vocal power of Lara but that her secret is that she is a complete artist, she sings formidably but tells and performs the story in the song, warmly and vibrating
There's something about her voice that makes my ears ring a little. It feels as if the voice just completely covers my ear. It feels just so warm. Only a few singers have given me this feeling. Is this what voice teachers call as resonance? If not, what is it?
I love her videos in USA, when Sony music was promoting her there, the hosters on tv programs got so impressed, they literally said "why did american choose Celine instead this perfect artist? One of them said "Lara is something like Andrea Bocelli and Barbra Streisand 's daughter. " Lol.
Funny that you say that at the end...she calls herself a "Songwriter with a voice" so yes, she is a storyteller 😉😁 she wrote also the latest song of "Dimash" "Your Love"....
Sidney Richter - she is amazing! However, I have to say that her lyrics fall short in “Your Love.” Not one of her best. Her best English lyrics are indeed for Adagio.
@@OperaJH My favorite Lara's english song ( and lyrics) is " I guess I loved you" . I like "Your love" but I wonder why Igor and Dimash havent used all the lyrics she wrote?
Awesome in her physical beauty and her voice and delivery are extraordinary. I don't know an adjective that can compare her. She writes songs as well, wow.
Hanging on every word is right. One of the best executions of this song by all standards. Perfect vocal technique, mesmerizing emotions, beautiful Orchestra and an ethereal tone. Lara & Dimash are supposed to be coming out with more music soon. Did I say bro...Outstanding reaction!!🙂
Hi from Paris, Caleb. I think this is hands down the most brilliant, heartfelt, argued and enlightening reaction to a Lara Fabian's song I've ever heard. Thank you !
Amazing singer and I had the pleasure to see Lara perform this song live in a concert hall , and at that time I did not know her music very well so it was a real treat❤️
You know Caleb, I really really enjoyed the way you said nothing during the part where Lara sang and your face told how you felt. This is how reaction videos should be
What a great reaction! I've watched do many Lara videos but it wasn't until you pointed out that is true that she makes you pay attention to everything in the song - the lyrics, melody, storytelling, everything! Thanks so much!
Its not a person in the song i believe it to be the adagio the begining of most inspiring symphonic preludes to any performance that prepares you for the journey of the heart like the most velvety syrictionsembracing you till it fills you with divine rhaptures of longing..its a musical muse that only your truest emotions can detect....i cant put it into words but lara conveysthe entire emotion superbly...
Well described! Yes she puts all the elements together and I think It's because she really wants to communicate with her audience, it's not like look at me how good I am, which is a self fixated attitude that too many singers have. Lara more invite you and share what she wants to say. Nothing you can really be teached. You need to have the guts and ability to reach out to people and don't care about what they think about how you look when you sing and so on. Lara is never afraid to use her face to express emotions, even if it might distort some of her beauty. That is something some singers are afraid of. Enough said. Great reaction and I agree 100 percent. Have a great day!
Can't believe I found your channel on the same day you posted a reaction to one of my all-time favorites. I saw her perform this live on the Rosie O'Donnell show back in the day lol. It totally transports me into this epic story just with her voice. Please react to some Nicole Scherzinger. Her performance of "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". She is way more than just a Pussycat Doll. Love your stuff.
She lives in her songs...I love the held breath at the end..it just tears at your soul. Same concert: react to Je suis malade. She gets so into it she can't leave it when its over...
A master class in communicating a lyric. Je Suis Malade is my favorite from her. As The Voice Love Co. said, “She walks unapologetically in her artistry.” I agree. Thanks for the content!
Please if you liked Lara, please look at "je suis malade" from the same concert (with english subs). I garantee it would be a time live. Known by her magical interpretations all around the world. Lots of love.
Since it is your first Lara Fabian video reaction, may i make a request for more: Lara? It is her extraordinary rendition of Je suis malade with subtitles in French and English. You will see how much she invests in her character, so much so that, at the end, despite the loud applause, she is still caught up in her alter ego. Never seen before such acting and singing. She is the best female singer in the world and she works with Dimash and Igor Krutoy, both as a lyricist and in duet. Thank you!
Bravo Lara .. !!!! 👏🏻Thank you .. Because of you, searching Adagio song.. I found Dimash .. And the story began ... Love Dimash and love Lara .. Thanks Caleb!!! 🎵🎶🌟
Please please please react to more of her songs from that same consert! ”Je suis malade” is a masterpiece! Btw, your explanation of her voice is spot on! It’s just magical.
How about that resonant closed vowel "beeeeeeelieve"🙂? Twice. My favorite part. She pays a lot of attention to vowel placement. I watched a video of her making a song and it looks painful😂she thinks about absolutly everything. Also, as someone else wrote, this song is about powers of inspiration to not abondon her because she was going through difficult time personaly.
I noticed already how she uses much vibrato or none at all, within the same sentence and so I was already wondering if that was studied or pure spontaneous instinct.
That was a very beautiful description of her talent. Thanks for putting it into words the way the she pulls my gut out when she opens her mouth (in the beautiful heart-drenching way not in the medieval torturous way) .
she is so freaking amazing, I can't ever figure out where she breathes, and I don't think of it as brassiness but her voice has a rock edge with the chest power and then the mixing and head voice, sustained notes, her tone is very warm and she keeps her larynx very relaxed I would think
I so thoroughly enjoyed your reaction to Lara singing her lyrics to this wonderful melody. I have been a fan of Lara for years and am constantly amazed at her voice and interpretation of any song she sings, some of which she wrote and co-wrote. The constant look of sheer pleasure on your face is, of course, a delight. I'm off to check out your cover of Lara and also Je Suis Malade again. Cheers Caleb.
Is it any wonder that Lara has had such a dramatic impact on Dimash Kudaibergen who has obviously taken on her 'in the moment style', never once braking the emotional magnetic journey. This is story telling through music that never once lets up until her last breath utters that final note leaving her audience completely and utterly spent. This is Lara's trademark. Recognize beloveds, that the magnetics of the Emotional body, and the feeling 'sense-sations' it generates in it's listeners, IS the language of the soul. Emotions, when Divine Will is allowed to come through unimpeded by Lara, never once breaking during Lara's sublime story-telling fashion, magnetically ensnares, and pulls it's listeners, completely enthralled, along a magical journey that elicits such sublime moments, as to induce what I call climatic, emotional orgasms. The physical body, in these perfect moments, is simply incapable of holding such high intensity's of Love that this vibrational energy simply results in an uncontrollable overflow of an involuntary release of tears. Such are the moments of incredible tenderness. This is 'Love', the cosmic magnetic glue that holds all Creation together. This 'Love', as generated by the Heart, is what makes people's hair stand on end when they recognize that they are in the presence of a divinely inspired Master. And this, to me, is the ultimate aim and purpose of all Great musical performances. These 'Gold Light Spirits', champions of Divine Will Herself, have always known that music can heal 'EVERYTHING'! Lara's music; her signing, does just that and more!
Excellent analysis - as always! This is really one of my favorite renditions of this classical crossover piece. There is something about Lara Fabian’s voice and singing that is appealing to men and women alike. I like very few female singers in any genre - Lara is unusual. For all the reasons you mention. She is an interesting performer and has an excellent range. She has tones of Barbra Streisand (who I used to like a lot, but cannot stand to hear anymore for the past 25 years) but is way better, in her manner of vocal projection. You are absolutely right about the brassiness - she has depth. Lara does not screech! She has a very attractive timbre that lures you in to listen to her. Unfortunately there is an element of screechiness in Celine Dion’s singing that render her an anathema to my ears. I mention those two because In Lara Fabian I find all the corrections the other two need to make, with the magnificent ability to improvise and play with her voice and her range and to use her really solid technique to tell her story admirably and often, stunningly! When you have time perhaps you should watch her live performance tribute to young Gregory LeMarchal, who was a young French singer with a wonderful voice, who like Dimash, was a fan of Lara’s and got to sing with her in the singing competition he was competing in and eventually won. That tribute, featuring Lara singing Je’ Taime, one of her songs was very moving. Gregory had sung that song for his audition and really did a good job with it. Greg died at 22 from cystic fibrosis, while waiting for a lung transplant. Here’s Greg’s audition, singing Lara Fabian’s Je’ Taime: ua-cam.com/video/dpdSn6Ruxmk/v-deo.html

A master class in communicating a lyric. Je Suis Malade is my favorite from her. As The Voice Love Co. said, “She walks unapologetically in her artistry.” I agree. Thanks for the content!
Her beauty is not fair.
Cant even put into words how much I love her performances & the way she makes every song an entire story 👏👏👏
Brilliant analysis 👏 Thank you
Lara not only has an amazing voice, but the magical recipe for using it in ways that touch your heart.
Great reaction. Lara is Master Class.
Yes, I loved that. She has very good voice of vowels and vowels modifications!
I noticed already how she uses much vibrato or none at all, within the same sentence and so I was already wondering if that was studied or pure spontaneous instinct.
Ya there was some part where she change belieeeveeee to belaaaiveee. She emphasize a lot on open vowel.
She’s incredible!
She is so unique. Beautiful.
I mean, how do you watch it without crying..
That was a very beautiful description of her talent. Thanks for putting it into words the way the she pulls my gut out when she opens her mouth (in the beautiful heart-drenching way not in the medieval torturous way) .

under those hair is one of the best singers i have ever heard
she is so freaking amazing, I can't ever figure out where she breathes, and I don't think of it as brassiness but her voice has a rock edge with the chest power and then the mixing and head voice, sustained notes, her tone is very warm and she keeps her larynx very relaxed I would think
these high notes here, that MODULATION WOW
Coleb is super! Thank you for your reaction!
Omg, she's amazing! I did not know she did this song.
Amazing 💚💚💚
Lara Fabian ♥️♥️♥️
Great reaction and perfect surprise of the day with Lara 😎🙏🏻 keep more of Lara coming pls. 😇
Definitely one of the best singers of modern times, great video ✊
I love her. She’s amazing.
Lara Fabian is amazinggggggg
More Lara Fabian, pls!!
The best ❤️
Here’s Greg’s audition, singing Lara Fabian’s Je’ Taime:

Espectacular Lara Fabian ! 💝
Saludos desde Barcelona 👋
I love Lara Fabian! She's phenomenal and my favorite singer ❤️ You should react to Je Suis Malade from this same concert. It will really touch your heart. Great reaction, Caleb ❤️
This is a wonderful reaction. Thanks a lot and stay healthy :)
❤️... so true! You cling to every word she sings and she makes every word come alive emotionally! She is so so incredibly good! 🙂👍❤️
I really never heard of her until about a year ago, which is too bad, because I missed most of her early career. I'd rate her definitely in the Diva category in the good way.
Love her . Good reaction
Preciosa canción , Dimachs la supera con creces , gracias
Hello Caleb i just discovered your channel and thank you so much for this reaction of Lara's rendition of adagio, it was really interesting and entertaining! May i suggest you to watch her live rendition of ADAGIO at the World Music Awards ! That was absolutely stunning, u could see on Shaggy's facial reaction right at the end of her performance:)
I just saw your video on Instagram singing "The prayer". Lara Fabian and Michael Bolton sang that song at a concert of David Foster. You should react to that one😉👍 Those voices together 👌👌
Hi caleb how u doin. Great reaction to one of the best singers. Laras voice is so clean & emotional that u never get tired of listenin to it. Watchin this vid remind me ur comparin vid of her & dimash performance of md.hyde which was great. So knowin that u reacted to marcelito before I wanted to ask u to make an analyse vid of Dimash & marcelito singin with different voices. Im enterested in the similarities & differences of their technics. Thank u
I am so glad you finally did a reaction to Lara and loved it. You shoukd react to Je suis malade from the same concert, all you said about her, will be duplicated, you will understand what I say, once you will see it. Your version of Screamong is a masterpiece, you should include that in your concert. Thanks a lot Caleb
