This song is about two refugees, mother and daughter. The daughter doesn't make it. The mother is singing a mourning song over her "my starred-eyed girl" to which the daughter responds "my sweet mother don't cry. Flames can't defeat my faded body" and other stuff that reffer to the sorrow a refugee feels about the motherlands they had to leave, but at the same time the pride of their souls.

    Starry-eyed Girl
    [Intro]
    My star
    My star
    [Verse 1]
My sweet mother, don’t cry for me
Even if they dress you in black
    The faded body of mine;
    Flames cannot conquer it
    The swallows of fire
Even if they cross the seas
    The soil of their roots
    They never forget
    [Chorus 1]
    My little starry-eyed girl
Come close so I can kiss you
    In your holy tears
    Let my lips extinguish
    [Chorus 2]
    My little starry-eyed girl
Come close so I can hold you
    My forgotten wings
    Let them finally rest
    [Post-Chorus]
Ah, ah, my star, my treasure, oh
    [Verse 2]
My sweet mother, don’t cry for me
    My life is a ship
    Searching for its return
    The wind is my sail
    [Chorus 2]
    My little starry-eyed girl
Come close so I can hold you
    My forgotten wings
    Let them finally rest
    [Post-Chorus]
Ah, ah, my star, my treasure, oh
Ah, ah, my star, my treasure, oh
    [Outro]
    My star
The "starry-eyed girl" refers to Greece herself, as well as the homelands (Pontod, Smyrna, Constantinople, etc) of the people in the Greek Genocide

Song is about longing to go back to your homeland ..Having to leave or forced a refugee because of war, or poverty ..a mother waiting for her child to return...rooted..always connected thus the ambilical cord...My star, my star
My sweet mom, don't you cry
even if they put black clothes on you
    My faded body is not
    defeated by the flames
    The swallows of fire
even if they cross the seas
    they never forget
the soil of their roots..My little Starry Eyed Girl
turn so I can kiss you
so I can extinguish my lips
    in your holy tears
    My little Starry Eyed Girl
turn to me so I can catch you
    and rest my
forgotten wings.Ah, my star, my treasure
My sweet mom, don't you cry
    My life is a boat
that looks for a way back
and the wind is my sail..My little Starry Eyed Girl
turn to me so I can catch you
    and rest my
forgotten wings..Ah, my star, my treasure
    Ah, my star, my treasure
My star...Its a great Song exudes sorrow and her voice is impeccable..

Lyrics of ‘’Asteromata/Starry Eyed’’ in a ''free'' translation :
    My star, my star.
My sweet mother, don’t you cry, even though they made you dress in black.
My faded body cannot be defeated by flames.
The spring birds of fire even when they cross seas, they never forget the soils they rooted from.
My little starry eyed, lean so that I can kiss you.
To quench my lips on your holy tears.
My little starry eyed, lean on me to touch you
To rest forever my long-forgotten wings.
Aaaaah, my star , my treasure.
My sweet mother don’t you cry, my life is a ship.
That is longing for the return trip, for the wind in my sail.
My little starry eyed, lean on me to touch you
To rest forever my long-forgotten wings.
Aaaaah, my star , my treasure.
Aaaaah, my star , my treasure.
    My star.
It originally reffers to people fleeing their homelands . But in a broader sense you can relate it to any loss. It touches this sense of missing what you love and consider ''home''. Whatever it is that you lost and longing for... a person, a love, a homeland.

They did her bad with the staging and the around stuff i think. It's a very good melodical song with good vocals and emotional. I hope they improve that on the stage. I agree with you in most points made. Greetings from Greece

  • @Kypros4life
    @Kypros4life 4 хвилини тому

it is common with more modern Greek music, which uses more Latin beats, like Marina last year, but this song as with other Greek pop or ballads use a more Balkan or middle eastern beat. As for the staging, it will be much better, but the focus should stay on the singer herself.

Pontus, Smyrna, enslaved, but not forgotten homelands.
The song performed by Claudia Papadopoulou speaks about these very things.
    Hellas: Eurovision 2025

Let's go with a national song and finally, after many years, with Greek lyrics.
Trump's re-election and the forced removal from the woke, restores normality everywhere.
The girl has a good voice, but she needs to be careful in her statements and the way she expresses herself.
    Good luck to Our Hellas!

Sorry, but the beat is not "traditional" Greek, it is just a dance beat. Satti's song last year was definitely not traditional. The people who informed you might have made a mistake. You can "fit" a beat to traditional Greek songs, but obviously their original rythm is different. So, no, this "beat" is not common to Greek songs, it is just a dance beat that can be "fit" to many kinds of songs.
