Thank you Tim for returning to the masterful Lara Fabian. Now that you've had her voice double-checked Live, I hope you're convinced that Lara is one of the best singers in the world. Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly" or, like in this song, "patiently". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Charice Penpengco, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Emily Linge, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , … They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love. ua-cam.com/video/bqoS-KOLV_4/v-deo.html Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version: ua-cam.com/video/qf7xcMN-TYI/v-deo.html Or you can check her recent excellent renditions: - in Zagreb, late april 2024 (italian) : ua-cam.com/video/06WOD2AxTTM/v-deo.htmlsi=pXrU2vQ1Lrca2PTs - In London, Royal Albert Hall, with Hauser playing cello, on May 9th 2024 (english): ua-cam.com/video/ikWpOJT4y9g/v-deo.htmlsi=WSoA4RXiw-TMmRNv
👉 For non musicians: The language of music is Italian. Adagio is an Italian word and is used in music to denote tempo, meaning: 'calm', 'slow'. In this song, adagio roughly means: If it is to be, then it will be. The “Adagio in g minor” is one of the most popular works in classical music today. It is a composition for strings and organ published in 1958 by the Italian musicologist and composer Remo Giazotto (* 4. Sept. 1910; † 26. Aug. 1998 - Italian musicologist, music critic, and composer) and is said to be based on fragments by Tomaso Albinoni. Musicologists are still debating whether it was really composed by Albinoni. Camilo Sesto wrote 1985 the original lyrics in Spanish to this piece. Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics in Italian and English. Composers Rick Allison, Dave Pickell and Lara Fabian arranged the piece into a pop song. Since then, this song has been part of Lara Fabian's repertoire. Lara is a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child Dimash wanted to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and for Dimash the dream came true of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoy in 2019. They sang: 'Ti Amo Cosi / I Love You So' - ua-cam.com/video/XaQFfqC3lnU/v-deo.html * Baroque piece, Albinoni´s famous Adagio - Hauser plays- Adagio - ua-cam.com/video/kn1gcjuhlhg/v-deo.html
Hi Tim ❤ The fancam is from sound test before recording But i think you are right, there is som post-production to this performance Love Lara ❤️ Love from Denmark ❤️
I think it’s actually from the performance we saw because it lines up perfectly. It wouldn’t if it was a completely different take. Even her little gasp at the end was identical.
thank you for your beautiful reaction. Please react to TANGO, a song written by Lara Fabian. Is amazing and differents from her other interpretation, very sensual and powerfull.
Lara's concerts have been and will continue to be a benchmark for the French-speaking world. This is one of my favourites "En toute intimité" Full English translation For our English-speaking friends ua-cam.com/video/NMHym4N4UXo/v-deo.htmlsi=tzZQPJ6kgG0qEAro&t=4 This concert has it all The quality of the image Lara's incredible voice Fabulously performed, intimate music And full English translation as close as possible to the lyrics This concert is Lara's soul A must-see
I recommend you a Spanish singer her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" she is a singer that transmits a lot when she sings and has incredible melismas. She is also very versatile when it comes to singing. She sings different musical styles. Best regards
Now that you've seen the original Adagio performance, you should do the one from the May 2024 Royal Albert Hall performance with her and Hauser. They also did Caruso that same night. She still sounds amazing. If you want to see amazing Vocal Control, I would suggest "You are not from here" Personnally, I find that one is her best showcase for her Vocal Gymnastics, and that's my favorite to hear "The Ring" of which she is so well known for. Her Articulation is best shown off in her Caruso Performance I'd say... If you want Belting, her Yentl Medley is Stunning. Her writing is best shown off in Broken Vow... With Lara, there's no way you can go wrong no matter which performance you listen too.
Dimash has admired Lara Fabian since childhood and has covered her version of Adagio several times - Dimashified versions of course. They have worked together several times. Please react to Dimash's Adagio from The Singer 2017 (he was then only 22) - no pitch correction. Thank you for interesting reaction as always. Love from Denmark
Hi there mate! This song truly shows Lara's talent in vocals. Singing this live almost perfectly with that incredible voice, is something you just can't appreciate enough. This song however is not my biggest favourite by her...i think i have heard it too many times in these almost 25 years. It's still great though. But it is somewhat sad that somebody want to correct the minor off pitches in performances like this. And Lara is probably the most accurate vocalist ever in live singing. (At least before 2013 accident). It's just crazy. Well i think there's nothing much to do about it. But it sucks. Anyway, you should keep reacting Lara. She deserves it. 😎 TTKing
Excellant reaction to one of the most talented female vocalist. I've been a fan for over a year and have only touched on her vast catalogue of performances. Some of her best performances include the two you showcased plus Caruso, You're not from here, Yentil medley, Tango to name a few. Keep up the reactions on Lara. With over 400 songs in her repertoire, you've got a long way to go. Thanks so much.
Thank you Tim! Any live 19:10 song you would chose, it will be a good choice. But you could try something from her Mademoiselle Hide album, it is different, crazy good.
Just a small correction, the album is Mademoiselle Zhivago, the song is Hyde But yeah that album is great, the only thing is it was presented in Russia and we know they like to do playback there, it's hard to find real live versions of those songs, although there are some
First time here. I do like your channel because don’t pause it every five seconds to go on for 20 minutes with your own opinion. I COMPLETELY AGREE with lip syncing! People are paying in some cases top dollar to hear a performer sing not MIME. This song is a perfect example. If you listen to the original of the album which I purchased when it came out (this song was HUGE in Australia). The album version is completely different, still beautiful, but you can tell this IS live! Nice. And when you do speak it’s only momentarily and it doesn’t override the song. Well done.
Caruso, Broken Vow, Perdere l’amore, Mademoiselle Hyde, Parce Que Tu Pars. I recommend getting the translation of the lyrics, it’s worth it to appreciate her performance. Also the garden hose thing was a brilliant way to explain that!
She is amazing. I recommend you to listen her son on live ( on concert )"JE T'aime " . Just to see how much her publics 'loves her. Sorry I'm french and don't speak perfectly English. thank you for your channel.
Lara Fabian is an amazing singer and artist!!! This song gives me Celine Dion vibes and is amazing!!! And it’s good to hear different key changes throughout the piece, which gives her more agility and prowess as a singer/musician!!!
Happy New Years Tim! Mahalo for all you do in reacting as I learn so much from your specifics when you break down notable parts in the song or with singing! Love from Hawaii! May your new year bloom and grow exponentially! Stay blessed and loved!
Thank you for your comprehemsive analysis of Lara's vocals on this signature piece. Very educational! I've been a fan of Ms. Fabian for years and am familiar with most of her live and studio work. There are very few of her reditions that I've found even marginally less-than-compelling. But if I had to choose a few personal preferences, they would be (1) "Calling You" from her 'En toute intimité' concert in 2003 (a cover of Jevetta Steele's theme song from the movie "Bagdad Cafe"); (2) the "Yentyl medley" (originally by Barbra Streisand) performed in Montreal in 1997; (3) the live-studio taping of "I am A-Wa" (from the album 'Le Secret', 2013); and of course 'Perdere l'amore' ('From Lara with Love' concert in 2000). These are all "next level"!
Ok Best vocalist ever. Hands down. On another note you must check out Stevie Nicks and Stings (in particular) Fireaid concert. It was just this last weekend. They had the best raw vocals I’ve heard in a concert setting for a very very long time. Not just in consideration of their age, but in my opinion, it showed the real chops of artists from previous generations - especially in comparison to the younger artists that performed at the same concert. Their pitch accuracy, air control, and honestly everything, just blew me away. I also heard pink sounded amazing. You will thoroughly enjoy both performances. In particular, the edge of seventeen and fragile. It was just so refreshing to see such live performances at the fireaid benefit!
That's an interesting study, so they slightly altered some notes here and there in this show But as you said she's so pitch perfect she doesn't really need that, as shown in other of her concerts that don't have that kind of post production This being broadcast in TV they always mess up things and force singers to do playback and such, really hard to understand but well at least in this one it sounded all very natural, pretty much imperceptible Looking forward for more Lara in your channel! EDIT: oh and suggestions, well anything from this concert is amazing, among the best are You are not from Here, Caruso, Love by Grace, Broken Vow Or if you want something from a different show, there's Yentl Medley (cover from Barbra Streisand) live in Centre Molson 1997 Or perhaps something in french from her own catalogue, her biggest song is Je T'aime and there are hundreds or renditions but one of the best is from En Toute Intimité DVD, one of her top acoustic shows recorded in 2003
It's like your favorite piece of candy....You just want more. At 75 it took me 73 years to discover her. She does what she does better than damned near anybody on the planet.
Great reaction and analysis. She is amazing. If you get a chance listen to I Guess I Loved You live from MTV Lebanon. Small studio and clearly not corrected in any way and still utterly wonderful!
Lara wrote the lyrics on the old classic music composition in Englisch and in Italian . Lara writes often more lyrics on het compositions or songs she sings in 1 , 2 or 2 other languages. She is known for her very beautiful, very strong but always velvety voice in all her 4.3 octaves range . An endless breat controle, clear singing, needles sentences, no tremble or vibrato in the voice , emotional and expressive performing. It seems she sings so effortless A joy to listen to, a joy to kook at ...
But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version:
it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions.
She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration.
This song has become a classic and has been covered by many : Shirley Bassey (!!), Dimash (Lara is his absolute idol and he covered several of her songs), Floor Jansen, Polina Gagarina, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Julie Anne San Jose, Charice Penpengco, Giulia Falcone, Laura Bretan, Il Divo, Rimar, Vitas, Emily Linge, Anastasia Luna, Evgenia Fanfara, , …
They made great covers but none of these match the amazing storytelling performance of Lara, or her ability to use vocal subtleties to be in sync with the music, exposed in her live from the concert From Lara with Love.

Her italian version is also amazing. A famous italian version:

A pride of the French language!
Lara Fabian - Caruso
In addition to a world class voice, Lara's stage presence and expression are off the charts! So emotional....

Great analysis
I guess I loved you next
❤❤️❤️❤️
She is back with a new album. "Je suis là" it's on spotify and youtube
Oo!!
thanks for this wonderfull singer :)
the best artist of all times❤❤❤
Hi Tim ❤
The fancam is from sound test before recording
But i think you are right, there is som post-production to this performance
Love Lara ❤️
Love from Denmark ❤️
I think it’s actually from the performance we saw because it lines up perfectly. It wouldn’t if it was a completely different take. Even her little gasp at the end was identical.
BTW, this was maybe over 20 years ago. Her self titled CD, Lara Fabian came out in 1999 and this concert performed most of the hits from that album.
Great reactiooon! Well done
Next one should be the Yentl Medley for SURE💙
I really liked the way you did this video and your honesty. You should check out her duet with Johnny Hallyday it is a very famous duet in France.
thank you for your beautiful reaction. Please react to TANGO, a song written by Lara Fabian. Is amazing and differents from her other interpretation, very sensual and powerfull.
Lara's concerts have been and will continue to be a benchmark for the French-speaking world.
This is one of my favourites
"En toute intimité"

This concert has it all
The quality of the image
Lara's incredible voice
Fabulously performed, intimate music
And full English translation as close as possible to the lyrics
This concert is Lara's soul
A must-see
Your knowledge and input is refreshing
I recommend you a Spanish singer her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" she is a singer that transmits a lot when she sings and has incredible melismas. She is also very versatile when it comes to singing. She sings different musical styles. Best regards
my favorite song by Lara and this performance is insane!!! 😱
I think you should check out "Perdere La amore".
Wooow I loved it
Goosefleshandbumsandtearsandchills 🤩🙌
Thank you for reacting on Queen Lara ! Lara Fabian " The Ring" ❤❤
Sir, i appreciate you playing the entire song for you.Give your opinion thank you
Hi there mate! 😎 TTKing
Loved it. Thanks for the breakdown! "Caruso", next? (Restored version, please.)
Muito bom !!! Sou fã da Lara.
Broken Vow is next Tim.😊
Broken Vow next from the same concert...
Смотрим и слушаем
Excellant reaction to one of the most talented female vocalist. I've been a fan for over a year and have only touched on her vast catalogue of performances. Some of her best performances include the two you showcased plus Caruso, You're not from here, Yentil medley, Tango to name a few. Keep up the reactions on Lara. With over 400 songs in her repertoire, you've got a long way to go. Thanks so much.
Me encantaría ver tu reacción al dueto De Lara Fabián y Johnny Halliday!! Impresionante! De los mejores duetos que he visto! Saludos desde Mexico
Gracias por tu excelente reacción.
It would be fun if you compared this to her live performance of this song in 2024 with Hauser playing the cello.
She’s amazing ❤BRAVO!
LARA there are no words that do her justice.
Dimash knows his muses.
Thank you Tim! Any live 19:10 song you would chose, it will be a good choice. But you could try something from her Mademoiselle Hide album, it is different, crazy good.
Just a small correction, the album is Mademoiselle Zhivago, the song is Hyde
But yeah that album is great, the only thing is it was presented in Russia and we know they like to do playback there, it's hard to find real live versions of those songs, although there are some
First time here.
Thanks! 💛✨🙏🏼
She is the best vocalist ever
She is amazing. I recommend you to listen her son on live ( on concert )"JE T'aime " . Just to see how much her publics 'loves her. Sorry I'm french and don't speak perfectly English. thank you for your channel.
Lara Fabian is an amazing singer and artist!!! This song gives me Celine Dion vibes and is amazing!!! And it’s good to hear different key changes throughout the piece, which gives her more agility and prowess as a singer/musician!!!
Please react to Broken vow and her duet with the French singer Johnny Hallyday called Requiem pour un fou 🙏
That's an interesting study, so they slightly altered some notes here and there in this show
But as you said she's so pitch perfect she doesn't really need that, as shown in other of her concerts that don't have that kind of post production
This being broadcast in TV they always mess up things and force singers to do playback and such, really hard to understand but well at least in this one it sounded all very natural, pretty much imperceptible
Looking forward for more Lara in your channel!
EDIT: oh and suggestions, well anything from this concert is amazing, among the best are You are not from Here, Caruso, Love by Grace, Broken Vow
Or if you want something from a different show, there's Yentl Medley (cover from Barbra Streisand) live in Centre Molson 1997
Or perhaps something in french from her own catalogue, her biggest song is Je T'aime and there are hundreds or renditions but one of the best is from En Toute Intimité DVD, one of her top acoustic shows recorded in 2003
Excellent 🎶👏❤
You need to listen to Broken Vows, it's a personal story, she cried for three days in the bathroom, and composed this song!
It's like your favorite piece of candy....You just want more. At 75 it took me 73 years to discover her. She does what she does better than damned near anybody on the planet.
thanks
Your Focal headphones made in France do us honor!
I love Lara and appreciate your reaction. Hope you'll react on Polina Gagarina, she's amazing too
Please do Caruso and Broken vow next!
Next to chk out “Caruso” 😊
It seems she sings so effortless
A joy to listen to, a joy to kook at ...
Famous in Canada, Brasil, Europ, East Europ and Russia, but very unterraded in the US
One of her many English songs : INTOXICATED

Nobody and I mean no other female singer/interpreter can put a light to Lara Fabian.
I've often wondered why she hasn't received the degree of acknowledgment that she deserves, especially in the States. Greetings from Italy
