God damn.
Sounds like where we're at today...
You mean Gaius Helen Mohiam from _Dune._
😮
Fear is the mind killer
Having these vids in Attenborough's voice allows me to listen at work or anywhere and it sounds like I'm listening to high brow academic material. Marvelous.
It also allows you to listen to bullshit he would have never peddled. This isn’t 40k lore.
@@wasjosh Might as well be 40k lore
Your pronunciation of Custodes as Custards is perfectly correct, it's an insider pun from the TTS series and we enjoy this.
"SHUT YOUR MOUTH, YOU CUSTART!"
Holy Terra or what in the case of any other world in the Imperium you'd call a toxic, massively overcrowded dump.
You gave a perfect description of todays earth
@@pillepolle3122 Earth in 2024 is a paradise compared to Holy Terra.
@@pillepolle3122 it’s not
@@alfredandersson875 it is =D way better than an artificial atmosphere of a 42nd M
It's not, real life earth is shit just as much as the Holy Terra regardless of the shade of it. Shit is still shit no matter how you turn it.
It would be interesting to see a timeline of when certain plants and animals became extinct on Terra in the Warhammer universe. Very Giedi Prime.
I wonder how much rats have evolved?
Been to Terra…..not a bad place to visit; not sure I’d want to live there.
Im annoyed at the lack of intelligent life on this planet, besides that ist not too bad
Heretics! The heavy flamers are the least of your worries. The inquisitors will know thee.
living on the bloody planet being dragged screaming into the warp yeah no thank you im on guilimans world
Only 10,000 years, not multiple tens of thousands. Just a heads up. Love your work, keep em up.
I think the claim that among the millions of planets strewn across the galaxy, they've all been speaking the same language to be among the least plausible.
The truth of the matter is they don't. Language between even subsectors can be vast and distinct. In the first Einsenhorn book, Xenos, Einsenhorn travels to a feral world and the inhabitants speech is all but unrecognizable to the party.
imperial high gothic is the state language, low gothic is the language spoken by most people on terra. it doesn't say anywhere in the lore that everyone speaks it on every imperial planet, in fact there's plenty of blatant evidence of other languages being used - fenrisian, colchisian, cthonic, nucerian...
It's a fascist world so perhaps speaking other languages is punished as a form of heresy.
@@olivergould5428 nope, as i said there are countless other languages spoken in the imperium besides gothic and there are probably others spoken on terra as well
@@olivergould5428 The Imperium literally isn't fascist though.
Love all your lore vids :)
If you could add subtitles that would be dope. I can use CC but it fails often. Still a fantastic channel even if you dont implement subtitles
Love your narrations. Its always like an audio book to me.
Loved the Carrion Throne trilogy. Thanks for the video!
I have only praise, you're doing an excellent job!!!
Only real ones know this is a reupload
The realest know they all are
@@mr.v2689 wrong channel bro
Lol, looks like the inquisition got ahold of our friend
Pretty sure he’s thinking of Wes or Luetin’s
Who cares... Just adore the great voice of the narrator lol
fantastic. thankyou.
Nice. I've wanted to learn more about this topic for a long time.
Nice vidéo !
So Holy Terra is an Ecumenopolis instead of a regular hive world. Interesting
yes exactly, space is so valued on Terra all of it has been sold and cataloged. Who wouldnt want to live closer to their god.
The irony being, in another Universe, the Hive eventually, over a 1000 years, conquered a federation of Species, highly advance, The Encumene and eradicated them to such an extent that no where can they be found but in Hive literature.
40K uses Dog Latin, ergo (heh) Custodes and Arbites probably ought to have their terminal esses sounded as full syllables - Cus-tod-es and Ar-bit-es. That's not an absolute rule, because a Gothic setting like this will always play with the notion that the past is forgotten or blurred, but it's certainly how I've always pronounced those names.
Ac-co-lad-es. En-chi-lad-es.
we are all passengers in the stormy sea of ever evolving 40k lore.Welcome aboard. Blood for the blood god. Skulls for the skull throne. In the new marvel cross over...skrulls for the skrull throne.
Very good iterator, very good.
you would think living on terra would be for the 1% instead of it being a giant dump
0:54 These Coruscant looking planets are hugely over used. But tbf its probably quite realistic.
You bring holy terra to life 😊
Nice! Best channel in the world!
"Kriss-ray, the Carrion Throne....."
It's crap like this that is gonna guarantee aliens are just gonna throw rocks at us until the surface of Earth is molten again.
What glory it would be to live on holy terra.
Oh thank you oh so very much!
-These Imperial Iterator vids are just SO WELL presented, Mr. Attenburough's narration voice adds a level of panache seldom seen, nor heard, within the total volume of WH40K lore....
-In just one short cycle 'round SOL, going from zero >> to >> 24K subscribers speaks for itself!...;)
Thank you for all the work within the immense amount of throughput, editing & overall assemblage. Such doesnt go un-noticed....
Nope it's some other guy
@@yeakeltonyeah7493
I'd said the 'voice' not the man himself...;)
“My Beloved says we’re all better off out here. Terra isn’t what it was!”
Covers most of Central Asia. That is one hell of a palace.
Beg your pardon, what Asia is doing in Warhammer lore? Recently, in a similar video, a guy was talking about Jesus Christ death in Warhammer. I am not a Warhammer expert, but I have been with the Universum since its beginning in the 80s, when there were no computers involved. Just a books and maps. I remember the map, and you can see the map in Warhammer Total War. There is no Asia, but mixed lands occupied by non-human creatures, which may resemble Africa, Asia, or Latin America because of plants and weather only.
Note that "Tara" is not Latin "Terra." It should only resemble it.
P.S. However, I have found the video very interesting.
What are you talking about?
@@hafor2846 about your mum. She was naughty again 👉👌
This is a dystopia
I’m probably going to get shit for this but this sounds like a description of my time in Iraq. Scorching heat with the smell of burning shit, garbage, and diesel fuel while an impending death is just around the corner.
I thought of Indian while listening to this.
Same with Afghanistan
New York had a similar vibe for me. Seemingly impossibly tall structures all around you, the smell of exhaust and waste fills the air, and you are but one faceless person amongst many. Honestly, it's the worst place I've been to in the US.
I think you have an editing issue at 8:15
This is not science fiction. This is simply truth. I know. I live here.
Chris Wraight The Carrion Throne
why does he keep saying "chris ray the carrion throne" can someone explain the context and why he keeps saying it seemingly out of nowhere
Hes quoting a passage from a book, silly.
"Jim clambered atop the marble elephant and gazed down at the dolphins who circled beneath,"
Duncan Banatine, My Life as Jim in 1923
silly
good
chris ray .. the carrion throne
Good narration
How about a WH 21,k vide,o? 😅
I thought there was no common currency to keep the population in check by forcing them to buy in the stores that accepted their currency
Oh my gosh, that man in the thumb, that's Josh Bennet! He used to be a propaganda icon of the Imperium against colony worlds growing rebellious over the empowerished state of the general citizenry and how unhealthy and short life in the empire is on average. Josh getting old enough to even grow grey hairs and then becoming decidedly ancient is practically unheard of, so natyrally he was carted around to show everyone just how long the longevity of an imperial citizen is.
He dissappeared from all the Tubes practically from one standart day to the other not too long ago and everybody thourgt he had long last keeled over and died like normal people. But there he is! On some penal colony doing hard labour and getting punished all the time. Serves him right too because it's probably for a good reason too. The Emperor is faultless.
Luetin09: well in the 40k universe nothing is set in stone or bein gospel
Me: oh dear inacuraccies this vid lore...its heresy
The inquisitors: exterminatus inbound,,,
You've got some lore inaccuracies, here. The Imperium covers roughly one million planets, not millions. The Emperor has sat on the Golden Throne for roughly 10,000 years, not tens of thousands. Sorry to be that guy.
and terra was invaded, by both daemons and orks.
@@JVIdeoclipstf were the orks doing? 😭

Ok Karen, it’s a story so relax there champ.
@@lushomosibayumba9519oh nothing, just teleported a battlestation the size of a moon into orbit with pure ork magic then killed like 3 billion people, no big deal
When the whole planet turns in L.A 😅
Watch the video pilgrimage to holy terra from oculus imperia. Its so much better
No hallmark card business in 40k.
Poor William Dafoe
What is willem dafoe doing in the 41st century?
I had the same thought.
custoads
Custodes is pronounced Custodies.
How much is stolen from Nemesis the Warlock?
You did WHAT to Earth?
Quite a lot of heresy people be commenting here... I must report this to the Inquisition.
Inquisition only has power over the poor. They don't dare touch the nobility of Terra unless they want they and their families as well as the families of their loved ones and allies disappeared.
Damn earth just became Brazil
The whole country or just Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo plus their favelas?
Bouldimort
What? I’m suppose to feel bad about humans living on other planets now?
We, from portuguese language, call Earth as Terra . So, I am already in W40k lol.
willem dafoe still alive???
Well for past 40 years or so he hasn't really aged so it is possible.
Sounds worse than Giedi Prime.
Well 40k stole much of it's lore from the Dune saga...
😊
Chris Ray. The Carrion Throne.
what does that even mean
I think it’s the author and title of a novel about life on terra

Didn’t need 40k to come to this conclusion
Y warhammer english is always like :"lets talk in chinese" iam gobbsmacked
0:52 - this video has just started and already we have a jarring factual error. No, the Emperor hasn't sat on the Golden Throne for "tens of thousands of years". The Horus Heresy which resulted in him getting confined to said throne occured in 31st millenium, and since the current timeline is set in 41st millenium (42nd after the conclusion of Indomitus Crusade), basic mathematics that they teach you at elementary school will tell you that he barely reached only the first of those "tens of thousands of years".
1:33 - "there exists a planet that is a true jewel of the Imperium, a planet whose name is known even in the farthest cornerns of the galaxy"
...
Ultramar?
And of course - as is usual for you Anglo-Saxons - you are utterly convinced that your pronounciation is "correct" and apply it even to foreign languages. The alphabet you're using was invented by ancient Romans and no, this is ABSOLUTELY NOT how they pronounced it when speaking their native Latin. The way you speak "Custodes" (as "custards") or "Arbites" (as "arbayts") is enough to make a lot of people cringe.
wait you can't mention the british empire, the imperium doens't know what that is
They do actually.
