    Splendid video!....I just bought a 224 today, used it for a bit, and then stumbled across your video this evening. My wife and I are really stoked to get up tomorrow and put it to a real test chipping some annoying brush. It's been working great so far. Thanks for the video!

      That's great! And to have a wife that likes to get out work with you in the yard like that is a prize for sure 😁👍.
      I certainly hope you two enjoy it and it works out great. Thank you!

    Cool.
    We just moved to Saskatchewan, and am currently shifting my thinking from a market garden on a few acres to life in the bush. Was on the verge of buying a much pricier attachment for our tractor, but since our Champion generator works awesome, I thought I'd see if they make a chipper. Which is how I found my way to looking for reviews on UA-cam. I can get the 224cc version locally, but I have to drive a bit further for the 338.
    Pretty sure the tractor option is out, thanks to these videos. Cheers.

      It's one of our most used tools on our property. Any branches, the raspberry stalks at the end of the season, leaves, etc, we use it so much. The 338 is the same size just a bigger motor. It might go through dead/dry stuff a bit better but then also will wear the blades just the same. Either is good to have for sure and if you didn't need to purchase a more expensive tractor machine then thats good too!
      Thanks for stopping by! God bless and happy gardening!

      @@narrowpathjourney I have a slot of dead stuff. This place wasn't occupied before my wife, children, and self landed here, for many years. Lots of dead fall we would rather not burn, but rather turn into mulch for trails and future gardens.
      Considering the amount of dead, and likely seasoned, branches, if you were buying for the first time, might you go for the more powerful engine?
      God bless you too. This is one glorious province, in my eyes.

      @@FrankVaughan That's what we did did here with an uninhabited place tucked away haha 😄👍. A diamond in the rough is what we like to call it. We have about 3 acres though and plan to turn it all into a food forest type of thing. Trees down to shrubs then the ground coverage stuff and mostly all edible plants in between. So for us being without a tractor we're fine with this 224cc, at least for now.

      That's awesome. Things are much better in this beautiful province than back East. Culture. Politics. More deer than people.
      I ended up grabbing the 338 cc just because it was roughly the same price. I drove the hour plus and the Prince Albert this morning, and drove back. I opened the box and the thing was almost comically damaged. Gas tank was crushed. The shoot was crushed.
      Like I said it was comical enough that I definitely laughed about it. But then I had to drive back...
      But they exchanged it no problem. Can't wait to give it a try tomorrow and get laying down some mulch.
      Super excited.
      I have watched a lot of reviews before making purchases on youtube, but this is the first time I think I've ran into somebody doing the same thing in the same place. That is pretty cool.
      God bless you all, and I look forward to checking out some of your other video work and seeing what you're growing.

    Nice video. How much fuel would does it needs to run for an hour? Do you struggle to push the branches in the machine or are they pulled on their own? Thank you!

    • @narrowpathjourney
      @narrowpathjourney  Рік тому +1

      I believe the tank holds near a gallon in total, goes through about a litre running for an hour. The branches pretty well get pulled through on their own but sometimes they need a bit of help. It's the spinning blades that catch and pull the branches and leaves through but if they dont quite catch they need to be pushed through. I hope that helps!

    I just bought one and it works well. However there is a restriction in the chute that only allows me to put in branches 2 1/2 inches id diameter. Got off the phone with customer service and they wanted some pictures so I sent that to them and am waiting on a reply.

      That's interesting. perhaps I should actually measure branches I put in mine as well and show that. My machines chute came with a rubber covering we removed but nothing inside was restricting the size of the branches. Thanks for mentioning that!

      I found a spray paint can that is just over 2 1/2 inches in diameter and it will not go through the chute. It is nor even 2 3/4 inches in diameter. I had taken the rubber covering off to see and also the whole chute off the machine. The bottom of the chute is 3 inches and the hole where the chipper blades are on the main machine is well over 3 inches. They are sending me a whole new chute so it will be interisting to see if the new one is any better. They did send by email a picture of one with a ruler, but it looks the same to me. Where the 2 pieces are welded together seems to be the problem.

      @narrowpathjourney  Рік тому

      @@ralphmowery2898 yes, I would say the welding is slightly off in mine too. In one of my videos I put the camera up close to the inside of the smaller chute to show the blade and it shows the welding is slightly off, now that you meantion it. That's alright the company got back to you though!

      The new chute arrived very quick. Where the 2 pieces are welded together are slightly larger, but still way under 2 3/4 inches and my paint can will not go through it either. Sent them some email and they wanted some pictures so sent them some but have not received a reply
